General Information

High reliability

This product has passed the life and reliability test manufacturers internal, mean time to failure is=1000h.

A wide range of measurement

Body measurement mode: the measurement range: 89.6F – 109.2F (32°C - 42.9C)

Object temperature measurement mode: the measurement rang: 32F - 212F (0C - 100C)

High accuracy

This product has passed the European Union and Chinese the infrared thermometer performance standards for measuring

clinical requirements, measuring clinical repeatability is no more than ±0.5°F (0.3C)

Smart User Interface and Design

When the measured body temperature is below 89.6F (32C), the LCD will display the "Lo" prompt. If the

measured body temperature is above 109.2F (42.9C), the the LCD will display the "Hi" prompt.

When operating environment exceed the design specifications, LCD will display the Err prompt.

When the thermometer battery power is insufficient, it has low voltage icon.

Has the hardware self-test function, when hardware malfunction is detected, the Err will display prompts.

Power saving function

There is no operation after the thermometer is turned on or after the temperature measurement, the thermometer

automatically enter standby state in 30s.

Memory storage function

The design of 32 groups of data storage and query function, can save measurement mode and temperature

measurement of your value for query.

Two-color backlight indication function

Object temperature measuring mode: Green backlight indicator

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Accurate Easy to use andvit seems accurate which is of course very important. What i like about this thermometer is that it's backlit and easy to read in the dark. I cant work out how to enter the date and also use for other family members. I would give it 5 stars if I could do these.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from AAA batteries & automatically turns itself off The AAA batteries will probably last for ages because it automatically turns itself off after 30 seconds of not being used... but if they could have used one AA or two AA batteries? AA batteries last longer (especially if sitting in a cupboard for years at a time) and are less prone to leaking? There's enough room for two AA's in the handle so it's a minor modification? There is no on/off switch which could result in flat batteries? This non-contact thermometer has only a 1 year warranty. Warranties signal to the consumer the expected reliability. Given the high price and the low chance of breakage it's surprising that they don't have a 2 or even a 5 year warranty? The manual seems to have enough detail but is written in ~6 point which makes it hard to read especially in bad light i.e. You can almost guarantee that most people won't read it? San serif font means that even if you don't read it you won't understand a lot of it? No online manual available anywhere... which makes it hard to save the instructions? Relatively easy to understand the LCD even without reading the instructions... but when you read the instructions you sometimes learn some stuff that you wouldn't otherwise know? Didn't notice anything important in the instructions but perhaps I missed something? This is expensive for a non-contact thermometer ($59.99) but if you've got a cold and are in a hurry to check your temperature, the convenience outweighs the cost? The Famidoc FDIR V22 was the cheapest of 3 non-contact thermometers at Chemist Warehouse. It works just fine at the moment and will hopefully keep on doing so for many years into the future. It deserves 3/5 stars because it's just like every other non-contact thermometer. There is nothing to make it stand out. :-)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Don't like it We bought this to do temperature checks at work, for Covid-19 management. I don't like it as much as the one I bought for a different department. The bottom of the handle keeps popping open and the batteries drop out. The slightest touch seems to do it. Also, the temperature reading stays on the screen for a long time, so I have to wait to do the next temperature check.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Different results, not the best. You need to bring it very close to the forehead and repeat a few times to get an accurate result. Most results are different. So I end up selecting the result that appears more than once. Not a good choice. Go for the tympanic thermometer next time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Overpriced for quality I bought this for dual purpose because it was advertised that I could measure the temp on anything (I bake and want to read dough temp) but this has a relatively small range of temps it records. Above 39 and it says ‘high’, below 30 it says ‘low’. The device is much smaller and cheaper feeling than I expected for the price. It feels like a toy. For reading baby temp or it’s super easy

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Inconsistent reading and I do not trust The thermometer works, it is to 1decimal point, easy to use . the temp varies on every beep and has no consistency, I do not know what is the actual reading is and do not trust the reading. I bought a traditional thermometer that is placed under tongue and the reading on the is more accurate and I use that instead.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cheap rubbish I bought this approx a month ago. The screen is scratched and plastic lifting in one corner. The battery housing is not satisfactory as the ‘locking’ cover does not catch properly, so the batteries pop out all the time. Every single time it is used (on multiple people) the temperature is ALWAYS 36.5 degrees Celsius, I therefore question the accuracy. I would return this except I’ve lost my receipt. It’s a cheap nasty product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hot or cold, who knows? The functionality of this product is painful. Everytime you hold it up to use it the battery compartment pops open and the batteries fall out. Nothing a little tape doesnt fix but for the price should i really have to resort to that? Temperature reading can be 2 degress off what the ear thermometer reads so accuracy is a concern especially for the use in workplace setting where the difference is someone being sent home or not.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Faulty Screen was showing Lo despite new battery changed few times. As per manual, Lo means low battery and needs battery replacement. Came back to shop to ask for a replacement, same issue. Wasn’t happy with the product so returned it and bought tymphanic thermometer instead. Temperature more accurate.
