[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My inverted nipple made breastfeeding a real pain, but out of all of the nipple shields I used, this was by far the best. It was easy to apply to the nipple and our baby seemed the least irritated by it (she was very fussy). The little compact it comes in is great too!

Does take a little bit of patience to work out exactly how to have them stick and not knocked off with the bubbas nose but once you’ve got the hang they are great for giving cracked nipples a little break. They are a bit of a challenge to put on at first, but once you get the hang of it goes in smoothly. Love that it comes with a case, and that they are readily available at the supermarket when you need it asap.

They are a thin material, and have a gap to maximise skin contact with baby which is great. I found them a pain to clean/sterilize/dry every single time, but if it helps to maintain breastfeeding to fix short term problems it’s worth it. It didn’t resolve our problem but did give me confidence that I had tried everything.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A necessity for me! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used these with both of my babies as neither of my children were able to latch at birth. I found them easy to use (once you get the hang of it!), quite comfy on, and easy to clean. The only downside was the yellow storage case - the hinge part snapped on every one I had. Not a big deal as I just stored the shields in a clean container between uses. I do wish they were a little more accessible in smaller towns as well - my local stockists only carry one size. Overall a wonderful product - I know shield use is often frowned upon by some people, but I wouldn’t have had successful breastfeeding journeys without these shields, so I think they definitely have their place for some people.

They help bubs drink from the nipple. They come in different sizes and are easy to clean and sterilise. The flow from the shields is nice and there are multiple holes in the shield to promote flow when babies are drinking.

They are inexpensive and easy to clean and sterilize and come in a handy case. I had them but thankfully never had to use them but was glad that if I did need them, they were there cleaned, sterilized and ready to use.

The midwife gave me one of these to try while we were still in the hospital and it worked a treat. I ended up buying more when we came home and haven’t looked back. Also helps with protecting the nipples and is less painful.

I loved them so much I had them ready for when my son was born this year and we used them straight away and he was fine with them too... perfect for baby shower presents when your stuck on what to get too

Rated 4 out of 5 by from An inverted nipples breast friend (pardon the pun) [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter was born a month premature and really struggled to latch onto my inverted nipples. The midwives gave me a medela breast shield to try whilst in hospital and it helped me to continue our breastfeeding journey where I would have given up. The instructions recommend to wet them with breast milk prior to help them stick however I found this caused them to slip around more. On a dry nipple, these work great and we are still using them and exclusively breastfeeding 5 months on.

It also helped me and made me a lot more comfortable for sore nipple on the other side. However, it always took me sometimes to fit it and it can fall off easily. I did not use it for long as I was afraid my girl will get nipple confuse.

However, they kept falling, making a mess, interrupting the feeding and spilling precious milk. I like the quality of them, but they need to do something about the suction and overall design.

Found although they helped the breast feeding path, they didn’t tend to stay on that well, appear to need a larger breast to keep them on, and not slide off. Found the case handy to have to store, as being so thin and light – it could be very easy to lose these shields in a house.

It took a little getting used to at the start and sometimes the shield doesn't stay on well, but all in all bub feeds pretty well on it.

They did ease the pain and provide protection and I like the fact they are BPA free and come with a little hygienic case. However I didn’t like how much of it surrounded my nipple and that bubs cheek and mouth wasn’t resting on natural skin.

If it wasn't for this shield, I wouldn't have been able to breastfeed. It was easy to use, thin, and the case it came in made it easy to throw in the nappy bag or keep next to the bed for middle of the night feeds. I had three on rotation and unfortunately they deteriorated after about 2 months from the sterilisation, but that could have been my fault.

I used Medela nipple shields so I could continue breastfeeding and give the nipples a chance to heal. When using the nipple shields, latching was a lot easier and the sensitivity and soreness was dulled down to a minimum. They slowed the flow of milk which meant feeding took longer but I only needed the shields for a few days.

Well, so glad I did because I would have struggled to breastfeed without them. After having problems with latching at the start, my nipples were sore and cracked and using these gave me a chance for them to recover. The pack is convenient to take with me anywhere too.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When my baby was first born, she was in NICU so I was pumping with the hospital pump and my own personal hospital grade pump while trying to establish breastfeeding. This made my nipples incredibly sore. A midwife recommended this nipple shield to me. It is a bit fiddly trying to get the shield on – you need to wet it before turning it inside out and attaching it to the breast. Occasionally I would need to reposition it several times before feeding Bub and sometimes it would not attach it properly. BUT it is the main reason why I was able to continue breastfeeding. Without this nipple shield, I may have given up breastfeeding. Purely for that reason, I would highly recommend this nipple shield if you have sore nipples in the initial days of breastfeeding. We did not experience any nipple confusion from using this nipple shield.

Bub attached much easier after using these and it became a lot more comfortable for me. They are soft and flexible and were fitted properly for me by a lactation specialist. Very easy to clean.

My nipples were damaged to an extent that i would bleed badly and advised not to breastfeed. These allowed me to continue feeding while my nipples healed. It didn't hurt to feed with these on at all, even when my nipples hadn't yet completely healed. They were comfortable to use, lightweight and soft against the skin. Easy to clean. convenient to take with you in the nappy bag.

My baby didn’t want to latch properly but we introduced a shield and she got it. At about 3 months we weaned her off the shield and this was a stressful time, but we got there. The nipple shield allowed me to give breastmilk to my baby girl easily in those early stages.

They’re very sleek and minimal, and come with a cute container. I unfortunately had a bad experience with them because I bought them without reading too much about so didn’t know that I had to have a correct size or that there was a special technique to get them on- my milk then dried up because I used them incorrectly and didn’t realise! I have plenty of friends who highly recommend it. Definitely get sized properly and get a midwife/ lactation consultant to show you how to put it on- it matters! I don’t really have a need for them anymore since my nipples hardened over time

As a small baby she had difficulties latching when my milk was coming in, but the Medela nipple shields helped immensely! I've had no negative impacts on supply and as a nice adjunct haven't had to deal with cracked nipples. Definitely an option worth exploring for those with boob to baby size mismatches!
