DermaVeen® Sensitive Relief Calmexa™ Bath Soak is a 100% natural formulation designed to soothe & restore moisture to dry, itchy or irritated skin.

DermaVeen® is not only free from common irritants, it is formulated with 100% natural oatmeal from the Avena Sativa plant including Colloidal Oatmeal. Offering a host of dermatological benefits, Colloidal Oatmeal is scientifically proven to help:

Directions

Sprinkle 4-5 scoops into a running bath. Stir if necessary to disperse and bathe for 15-20 mins. For protective and deep moisturisation, follow with your preferred DermaVeen body moisturiser. Children and Infants: Add 2-3 scoops (for a baby size bath). Use as directed above.

I like that the packaging is a water proof resealable bag and it’s easy to get out the required product. I did find it a bit hard to reseal the packaging but it wasn’t a major drama. After soaking in the bath for 20min my skin felt calmer and less itchy but I didn’t find that it lasted that long - would recommend using it weekly along with moisturisers / oils. The soak had a very mild scent and is perfect for dry skin. This isn’t a product that makes your bath look very nice or has a beautiful relaxing experience - it just looks like you put some dirt in the water.

I was excited to try this product because of our collective skin issue. The product dissolves well in warm water. No sent as such, which is all I felt it was lacking. It left our skin feeling less irritated and surprisingly moisturised. I would recommend this product to anyone who is suffering from skin sensitive issues.

The sensitive relief bath soak is a great addition to bathtime routine for babies prone to dry skin. It is essentially ground up oats in a convenient sachet. I would recommend for busy moms and as a convenient factor as oppose to grinding the oats yourself. Even if it is more finely ground than as home, it does not dissolve in the water and leaves behind oat paste that then goes down the drain. Mindful if you have sensitive drain systems. Overall I love how it makes the water feel creamy and baby's skin does feel less dry afterwards and ready to be moisturised. I would definitely buy again myself, for the convenience of it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have really dry skin, which can get very uncomfortable and itchy at times, i also let my 4 year old try the bath soak, she has very rashy skin. I say the bath soak works, it does what it states it will do, offer relief when your skin starts to feel all gross tight and itchy. Im not so convinced it locks in moisture, maybe with long term use you would see more improvement. I would buy it again, the only reason I gave 3 stars is the smell, it reminds me of breakfast cereal, its not an attractive bath product but it is an effective one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by jpandkt08 from Lovely gentle soak for dry skin [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This bath soak arrives in surprising packaging, a lovely foil type bag with a zip lock closure which is absolutely great! No more messes or spills around the bath or looking for clips to keep it fresh. The product itself is a bit more soft powdery in texture than I expected. Most oat or oatmeal based soaks tend to be bigger chunks but i don't mind actually. There's a handy scoop included for measuring, it's a little small so I added one more than suggested. It dissolves partly, makes the water slightly discoloured but no noticeable smell. After a 30-60 min soak in hot to warm water, my skin felt soft and smooth once dry. The first couple of times I did notice a bit of a dusty type layer on my legs so maybe used a bit much that time. I haven't noticed any drastic change in my skin, but it doesn't feel irriated or red at all after a long bath. I have dermatitis and eczema and this did not affect me at all. I only dislike that it doesn't fully dissolve, there's always a layer of brownish cream residue in the bath but it rinses well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Discokef from Unusual smell and texture [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve used this bath soak a few times over the month, mainly on days where I have felt dehydrated and a little exhausted. My kids have also tried to but do not like the smell. The bath soak is as stated oatmeal based so has a really unusual wheat sort of smell which was not unpleasant but not a smell I will seek out in the future. The product states to use four scoops of the powder and once in the bath it seems to clump on the bottom instead of dissolve immediately. It isn’t an issue to stir it up and dissolve it but that’s a hard task for small children. I’ve used DermaVeen before and like the standard of the brand, good quality products with lasting results. After the bath I did feel like I’d had a hydrating experience and although I do not suffer from any skin ailments my skin felt calm and healthy. To be honest I will not repurchase this bath soak as I would prefer a more pleasant scent and a little bit of bubbles. I think it is probably very beneficial to people with eczema or psoriasis and young children with skin problems.

Rated 3 out of 5 by BridgetG from Temporary relief for mild skin irritations [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this as part of a team trial and was looking forward to receiving it as my son has mild eczema and I was hoping it could provide some relief during flare ups. The product itself is a powder that you dilute in a bath, so I followed the instructions and did notice that my son's skin was a little less red but I wouldn't say that it made the spots go away or fade. It provided temporary relief. I would say this would need to be used in conjunction with other treatments if you have more moderate or severe eczema. In terms of the powder, it is a bit clumpy and takes some time to dissolve in the bath. It doesn't have a strong odour at all though, just smells like uncooked oats.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Tiicky from Nice but not for me [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m not entirely sure what I was expecting but the bag seemed quite thin and when I read the instructions to add 4 scoops to my bath I though “well this bag wont last long” not realising the included scoop was around ½ a tablespoon size and the product itself was a very fine power and not crystals like I’ve experienced with most bath products. The product was a very fine powder but when I added it to the bath I was shocked to see the water turn murky, I assumed it would sort of dissolve to nothing, I Guess it was nice to be able to see the product but it gave me a feeling of bathing in pond water. I was shocked to find when I finished and drained the bath I had to wash it out a few times to remove what looked like sand. Now onto the positives- It really was quite soothing on my itchy dry skin and I didn’t feel like my skin was dry and tight after using it. Nice to fix dry skin but honestly I didn’t like bathing in it nor how it left my bath looking, I prefer to use good ol’ moisturiser. I don’t think id buy this in a hurry.

It provided a nice bath routine but it didn't take the redness or itchiness out of her skin. The product felt safe and wasn't overpowering in smell. The product also dissolved well and really fast in the bath.
