Directions for use:

Brushing his teeth with the Colgate Bluey toothpaste is a fun activity he looks forward to. Combining his favourite cartoon characters and color (blue) in a toothpaste tube is so exciting for him. The blue colour of toothpaste bubble when he spits up is always a talking point. No more chasing him around to brush his teeth. He looks forward to brushing his teeth and also let's me brush his teeth after he has had his turn.

He has loved running to the bathroom during teeth-brushing time to grab his Bluey toothpaste. This was the first minty flavoured one he has tried and I am actually surprised that he didn't make a comment on it being too much. I also love that because it's aimed at younger kids/toddlers that the fluoride levels are age appropriate (especially considering my 3-year old sometimes still swallows some toothpaste).

Its designed for use for 2-6 year olds, a step up from the Colgate 'my first toothpaste'. Its a sparkly turquoise coloured and spearmint flavoured gel type paste. Its stronger in mintiness than the first toothpaste but milder than a regular one. The packaging indicates: do not swallow, so its best used by kids who know how to spit.

It has a subtle mint flavour much milder than other Colgate mint toothpastes which we both liked, we both liked the gel texture as well. It doesn't froth as much as some other toothpastes which was great for my child I also appreciated it as it didn't go everywhere. I like the fact the tube was made out of recycled material. My child liked looking at Bluey and Bingo everytime they brushed their teeth. A think it is a great childs toothpaste.

However they found the mild mint gel flavour wasn't palatable, especially now there's so many fun flavoured toothpastes on the market. I like that there's no added sugar, the tube is recyclable and a good 90g size - not so small it needs consistent replenishing. Overall it ticks the boxes as a fluoride containing toothpaste for us, but we'd much rather brush our teeth with orange juice.... or watermelon bubblegum!

She takes to brushing her teeth quite well but with this new toothpaste I tried to use 3 times, it was too “spicy” for her mouth and she was trying to scrape off her tongue and was close to tears. If she even sees the tube now she shouts no and covers her mouth. I’m able to use her previous toothpaste still but not this one.
