Rated 4 out of 5 by from As part of the BeautyHeaven trial team I received the 100g QV dermcare sting free ointment with ceramides. With winter being here my skin has become so dry and this ointment has come in handy. The first thing I noticed when using the ointment was that it had a similar texture and feel to vaseline. It is thick so you don't need to use much of the product. I would use it mostly on my hands and legs where I have dry patches and wanted to protect and hydrate those areas the most. You can apply it on your face and your body and it doesn't cause any irritation. It provides your skin with a barrier which is what you need when you have dry skin. I have used it on my lips as well which gets really dry and cracked. It's good to have on hand and you can use it all year round but it especially comes in handy during the cold, winter months.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best eczema ointment Hands down best ointment for eczema, BUT the consistency is very difficult to work with. I used to only buy this in summer, because it was too solid to get out of the tube in winter, but this new plastic tube makes it difficult to get out in warm weather too. The tub version would be better, just not convenient.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Stingfree Ointment [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was initially extremely hard to squeeze this thick clear ointment from the tube version. However, after the first go, this product now easily comes out. This ointment is non-greasy, absorbs easily and is great as a barrier product, which is important for eczema sufferers like myself. I found it does much much to use a normal basic moisturiser underneath, as on it's own I didn't find it as moisturising. This can be gritty out of tube, so if you have very irritated skin, warm it up first between fingers before applying. The tube does seem to get a bit misshaped after squeezing, but it's otherwise easy to use. It's not the best priced product of this type out there, but this does include ceramides for better skin barrier repair.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this ointment for a couple of weeks, applying to the dry skin on my knees, elbows and heels straight after a warm shower or bath. It immediately softened and smoothed my skin and leaves a protective layer like vaseline but not slippy or oily. I also had a dry patch on my right ankle which seems to have cleared up. So, I also tried it on some eczema/ rash areas and it definitely provided symptom relief after using it daily for about 4 days. Found the squeeze tube a little hard to squeeze and use, so will probably try the tub next time. I will definitely keep using it and hope it will continue to provide protection and moisture to my aging skin.

It was very hard to squeeze it out of the tube & it looked very thick & hard. It felt like a thicker version of Vaseline & was slightly grainy in texture, there was no scent/ fragrance. I used it daily on my knees & elbows as I have very dry skin there & prone to getting eczema. It worked well, kept my knees & elbows moisturized. I think the grainy texture put me off this product. I don't think it was for me unfortunately.

I suffer from dermatitis that really flares up during the colder months, so was hoping that this could really be a saviour! It is quite hard to get out of the tube with the cold weather, so I would think that the getting the tub would be better as it would be much easier to get the product out. In terms of texture I found it quite greasy and gritty, but the grittiness could be because of the cold weather too. I used it for a few days in a row on the bottoms of my feet, hands and elbows, and I didn't notice a huge difference compared to other products I have tried. In saying that, it does feel nice and hydrating and a bonus that it does not really have a scent.

The first time I tried to use it,it was almost impossible to squeeze out and when it did eventually come out it was solid and I had to rub it between my fingers before I was able to apply. But all was not lost, one applied I found the oitment to be absorbed quickly and my skin felt smooth and sting free. I was happy to see that it is made in Australia but the tube and lid is not recycable.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I was excited to try the QV Dermcare Sting Free Ointment with Ceramides to help with winter impacts on my skin, worse this year than previous years. I received the 100g tube and have had no end to trouble with the packaging. Perhaps it is because it is cold and the product congeals in the cold weather, but the product does not squeeze out of the tube. It just mushes around inside the tube before a tine bit finally squeezes out. I find that it is most maleable after someone has taken a very hot shower and appears to soften the product a bit. There are no clogs, I have removed the cap and cleared the top, it just does not cooperate with the packaging. Perhaps the 200g pot would be more suitable for me. Once I get the product out, it provides soothing relief to itchy and cracked winter skin. The product sometimes feels a bit grainy, at first, but melts in rather quickly, no longer feeling grainy nor leaving a texture on the skin. I usually use a QV lotion first, then apply the QV sting-free ointment over the top. My skin feels softened and relieved. Where there are more dry or irritated bits, I will rub a little dash of the QV sting-free ointment on before I go out in the morning and after a shower at night. It has helped a good deal, but the packaging can make it a deal breaker and loses stars, for me. Glad I had the opportunity to test. Will try the 200g pot next time.
