Directions

Apply 3-4 drops to clean dry skin every morning and evening. Apply on the face and neck. For best results, follow with your Age Perfect regimen.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Little goes a long way [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Gorgeous bottle, classy, looks great in bathroom or on your dresser. Quite a light serum that goes on easily, not greasy at all. I found you only need a couple of drops as a little goes a long way, absorbs quickly and hydrates well. Lines on my face look a little less deep, so will keep using and see long term result. Downside is fragrance as usual is too strong for me, but you might not mind the citrus smell. Honestly I am not sure if I would buy again because of fragrance but it would be nice if they made an unscented version for those of us who are sensitive to strong fragrance.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great serum [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Loreal’s age perfect cell renewal midnight serum claims to improve skin radiance and firmness and after several weeks of use, I must agree. The name of the serum led me to believe that it was for use at night, however the instructions say to use AM and PM, a little confusing. The glass bottle houses a dropper that feels sturdy; however, I do find it is a bit inconsistent with how much product it draws up. Sometimes it doesn’t seem to fill up. Annoying, but not a deal breaker. The brown glass ensures the product is not exposed to sunlight. The instructions say to use it morning and night and I really like being able to use the one product, instead of having a dedicated serum for AM and then PM. The consistency and finish of the serum means I can happily use it in the morning without getting greasy skin or it pilling under my makeup, yet it is rich enough that it works well for me as a night serum and I wake up with hydrated skin. The consistency of this serum is silky and gel like, it applies easily to the skin and soaks in nicely. It doesn’t leave any tacky residue and I have not experienced any pilling. It isn’t heavy and I haven’t had any clogging of pores or breakouts from it. It feels very hydrating, without being greasy. When I wake up, my skin feels soft and plump without any oily sheen. After several weeks of use I do think my skin looks fresher and more radiant. There is a bit of a glow and clarity that wasn’t there before. I have liked using this serum and will continue to use it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Parfum galore! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thank you, BH for this generous opportunity to try L'oreal Midnight Serum. The serum claims to improve skin radiance and firmness through antioxidant recovery complex ingredients neohesperidin and vitamin E. The texture is a light, non-sticky lotion that absorbs into the skin quickly, packed with a really impressive ingredient list that makes it equal to plenty of high-end serums I could name. It also comes in a very sexy glass bottle! The first 3 ingredients in the serum are aqua, dimethicone, and glycerin which are great for hydration, however, it's not clear what percentage of each is in the serum. Some ingredients that I wish were not present here are alcohol denat and perfumes/fragrances (including hydroxy citronellal). In my opinion they let the serum down. Skin does not need perfume - it has the potential to cause contact dermatitis - and alcohol denat can disrupt skin surface layers and dry and sensitize it over time. Overall I didn't think the serum made my skin feel its best. I had dry patches on my nose and cheeks and found the scent overpowering!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Luxurious feeling serum [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The age perfect cell renewal midnight serum is an antioxidant recovery complex that claims to wake up new cells to improve skin radiance and firmness. I trialled this product for over a month and I quite liked it. The serum itself was a yellowy colour which I felt like gave my skin an instant glow. I also found it to be nicely hydrating. Unfortunately I didn’t notice an improvement in firmness and the radiance seemed to be transient, so it was radiant but only while I had it on. The serum was thin and you only need a very little bit to spread over your face and neck so the product will last a long time. It worked really well during the day layers under my other skin care and make up. It also worked well layered with my night time products. I’m not sure if I had a defective bottle but it was really hard to get the product up into the little pipette which was strange. Overall I really enjoyed using this serum and will continue to use it all up. I probably wouldn’t repurchase as I prefer products that give me a bit more bang for my buck so I tend to stick with cosmeceutical skin care.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Smoother & Plumper [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was lucky enough to be part of the Trial Team to test L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Cell Renewal Midnight Serum. Claims of reduced wrinkles after 4 weeks had me excited and eager to try it. I have been trialling this Serum for 1 month, applying it both morning and night. Firstly, the packaging is beautiful. The bottle looks luxurious, classy and expensive. Love the dropper applicator which is very easy to use with no mess. The directions suggest to apply 3-4 drops, however I find I need about 5 drops to fully cover the face and neck. When applying the serum to my face it absorbs quickly, is non greasy, non sticky, lightweight and instantly makes me skin feel softer and smoother. My face feels a little plumper and firmer. I’m lucky to have minimal fine lines and wrinkles for my age. Thus I am unsure whether there has been any reduction or softening of my fine wrinkles. I’m left a little disappointed as I was hoping for more noticeable improvements after 1 month.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Soft hydrated skin [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The serum comes in an attractive glass bottle with a dropper for easy application. It has a light scent which dissipates as the serum soaks into the skin and dries. The serum goes on smooth and silky and is non-greasy. I followed the directions and applied 3-4 drops on clean skin morning and evening followed with my regular moisturiser. After 4 weeks I have noticeable softer and silkier skin texture that is well hydrated. I have yet to notice any improvement in any skin firmness. I still have half a bottle of serum left so will keep using and maybe have more improvement with longer use.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Effective serum [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It took my skin a few goes to get used to this serum. First time I used it my skin went a bit read to the extent that I washed it off. I'm a dedicated reviewer though and after a few goes I found my skin was handling the serum pretty well and even noticed an increased in skin density and smoother skin. I've been using it for 9 weeks now and my skin looks very good, and there have been no recurrences of the initial sensitivity. So I'd say that the serum is quite effective and certainly does what it says it will. On the negative side, I actually do not like the scent, which is strong, somewhat chemically and takes a while to dissipate. Unlike many others, I also don't like the packaging for this - I found the heavy bottle to be old-fashioned looking (like Avon in the 90s--though I do believe this is collectable now and I'm sure people will like it - the ridges do mean that it's not slippery), and the label just peels right off, which is good for reusing the bottle but I found it peeled off almost immediately. Also the dropper is odd, and doesn't dispense enough (and is flimsy) - I have to go in several times to get the right amount, and cannot see through the dark glass to tell how much is left, particularly when the dropper is so awkward - I always feel I've run out. The serum does contain some good ingredients - like hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, bitter orange, and black tea ferment, but it does also contain a lot of different silicons, and alcohol, which I don't feel so great about using every day over a long period of time. So given the downsides I am unlikely to repurchase this product, however, I cannot deny that it does have a skin smoothing effect and while my wrinkles may not have diminished too much, my skin is looking very good after repeated daily use, so I probably still recommend this for anyone who isn't bothered by the scent or ingredients.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Midnight Serum Trial [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this as part of a trial, thank you BH. The serum bottle is well packed and comes in a chunky brown and gold glass bottle which is not my personal taste but it’s all about what’s inside. The dropper didn’t work properly for me, each time I squeezed it I would only get about a third of the product that I should get so I had to dip and squeeze a few times to get enough serum. The serum itself has a mild fragrance and a fantastic texture which I really liked and it felt very luxe on my skin. It absorbs well, is not sticky and feels great on my skin. I used this morning and night and found it was not hydrating enough even with my moisturiser on top. I had no reduction in wrinkles and my skin did not look tightened at all so unfortunately this didn’t work for me. Because of this it is not a serum that I would repurchase and continue to use. I think it would be fantastic for someone who does not have dehydrated skin.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Concentrated Serum [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was lucky to be chosen to trial the L'Oreal Age Perfect Cell Renewal Midnight Serum. It comes in an elegant, brown, glass bottle which has an 'eye dropper' for precise measuring. The consistency of the Serum is not runny but slightly thick in texture and the fragrance, to me, smells like cucumbers. That's a refreshing smell. I cleansed my face before using the Serum. The first time using the Serum I put a few drops directly onto my cheeks and gently massaged into my skin. However, even though I used about 6 drops of the Serum, it didn't spread out enough to cover my entire face but simply absorbed straight into my skin almost immediately. My forehead and neck missed out. The next night, I left my skin damp after cleansing and the Serum spread much more easily. Still using 6 drops but this time my entire face and neck were treated. It felt quite beautiful actually. So I've tried the Serum nightly for 2 weeks but I haven't noticed much improvement in my fine forehead lines nor the eye area. Some areas of my skin, especially on my cheeks, seemed a bit dry and slightly reddened. I do have mature and sensitive skin so perhaps that's why this happened. The Serum is not for me but I do appreciate the opportunity to test it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Convenient bottle [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited to try this product and after 4 weeks of daily use in the morning and at night, applying 15 minutes before I used moisturizer, the only noticible difference from my normal serum was the skin around my eyes felt a liitle bit smoother and tighter. First thing I noticed when using is that it was unlike any serum I have used before. It was thicker and almost a 'creamy' consistency where you could not do 'clean' drops, more of a dribble and runny kind of thing. That was unexpected but I was able to apply it similarly to others I have used (I add drops to my palm, put my other palm over it and then spread both across my face from outside in, and from the bottom up). It has an interesting scent, smells like a hair gel wasnt to fused on the scent. It absorbed quickly and did not make my face feel sticky or oily after applying. I would suggest trying less than the recommended drops to see if it is enough for you when using to not have to go through it so quickly and wasting any more than you need to per use. A bit concerned with what I see as a tad of greenwashing by claiming the packaging and bottle are recyclable. That may be the case but not easily, and could be made with packaging that anyone could easily recycle instead. I see no reason the packaging could not be made from recycled materials in addition to being made easy to recycle. Plus that extra unneeded space in the box with a divider is just so wasteful, I'd like to see them figure out a way to put all the info they need on the box and make it smaller and less waste full packaging. The bottle definitely looks very classy and expensive and can grip the bottle. But just not sure if I would but this again as I personally haven't seen a difference hugely and applied morning and night as the box suggested.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lovely serum and an enjoyable experience! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very excited to be chosen to trial L’Oreal Paris Age Perfect Cell Renewal Midnight Serum seeing I am of mature age and am at the stage where I am willing to trial anything if it will turn back time! The serum arrived packaged beautifully in a 30ml sleek etched dusky glass bottle complete with a clear glass liquid dropper. It really does look very luxe in pride of place on my vanity. At a recommended retail price of $59.95 the serum is not cheap and is a creamy peach consistency with a delightful fruity fragrance. Best of all it contains a powerful antioxidant derived from bitter orange and Vitamin E claiming to protect against free radical damage and reinforce the skin’s barrier. It’s also made without parabens or mineral oil so great for those with sensitive complexions. L’Oreal purport that mother cells, the source of new skin cells, become less active as we age therefore fewer new cells are created. The activity of these cells occur at night hence “Midnight” in the title. I tested this serum over a period of approximately five weeks which is about as long as the bottle lasts. I found 2 drops of the serum applied to a cleansed face and neck every morning and night was ample even though the packaging did state 3-4 drops. Maybe this is because the serum itself is non sticky, has a melting texture so easily spreadable and absorbed. When used in the morning I found it completely hydrated my skin so much so that at times I did not find it at all necessary to use a moisturiser. Since using this serum my complexion has felt soft and hydrated but other than that disappointingly I can’t claim that lines and wrinkles are reduced or that my skin feels tightened so maybe not as much benefit to mature aged complexions as I would have wished.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice packaging, nice texture [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As this is a brand new product that I’d never heard of before, I was really excited to be able to try it so I read up on as much info as I could find - specifically if it was meant to be used with retinol or instead of retinol. I wasn’t actually able to find anything definitive on the issue so I used my best judgement and applied Midnight Serum after my retinol. I’m pleased to say that I had no issues at all using Midnight Serum in this way. I had no issues with dryness or irritation, which is a relief as I’ve been on a roll with my retinol and wanted to stay on it. However, I did not feel in any way that this serum really added anything to my night time routine either, unfortunately. Even though it’s called Midnight Serum and the name suggests it should be used at night, given the fact that retinol is my go-to night time serum and the addition of this serum didn’t add anything to that, I’ve been using it in the morning as well (as my reading suggested) and I actually enjoy using it in my morning routine more than at night. Especially if I’m wearing makeup as I find my makeup goes on really nicely after I apply this serum. I really like the packaging of this serum. The bottle looks a bit fancier than L’Oreal products usually do and it’s just easy to grab and dispense product with the dropper. The colour of the serum is a pretty pale apricot colour and has a mild scent that smells fresh and nice but doesn’t linger. My skin feels soft and smooth after applying and as I mentioned before, it’s a really nice base for applying makeup. In my reading I did see a lot of comments about the alcohol content of this serum. That was a concern of mine, but I didn’t actually have problems with skin dryness or irritation as a result - even with my nightly retinol application. Bottom line, I actually see this as a really nice dupe for Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair. In my experience they share a lot of similarities and the comparison was my first thought when I got my hands on Midnight Serum. If Estée Lauder ANR is out of your price range, give Midnight Serum a go and I think you’ll be really happy with it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Noticeably plump smooth skin [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] L’Oreal Age Perfect Cell Renewal melts into the skin! With claims of waking up to new skin cells and improved skin radiance, I was excited to give this serum a go. My skin is mid to late thirties, combination skin depending on the weather and my hormones. I have visible ageing to the skin with fine lines and a loss of firmness beginning. I noticed right away how luxurious this serum felt, reminding me of a serum from a top dollar brand immediately, however with a more friendly price tag . I found the ease of use enhanced by the dropped lid however these kind of lids on products don’t tend to be my favourite. Applying in the evening for my first application, I noticed how smooth and silky the serum applied. Immediately absorbed into the skin. My skin began to look hydrated and plump as the weeks went on with morning and night use. I did have some break outs at the time, but would not contribute this to the product. I found during the day the product didn’t effect my make up wear and possibly helped to provide a smoother base for products such as foundation and powders. Around week 3 I noticed my skin looked much fresher, softer and full. 3-4 drops is definitely enough for for coverage. There is a very light scent to the serum which I felt didn’t linger once product was dry. I’ll definitely finish this product quickly with the twice a day application.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Conflicted about high concentration of alcohol [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a water-based antioxidant serum that contains glycerin, black tea ferment, mushroom extracts, black truffle extract, hyaluronic acid, capryloyl salicylic acid (LHA), Vit E, squalane. It is housed in a brown bottle with a dropper. Fermented black tea is said to contain probiotics, vitamins, gluconic acid, lactic acid and has brightening and skin barrier strengthening effects. It all sounds good but unfortunately alcohol denat. is the the fourth ingredient in the ingredients list, before any of the goodies mentioned above. There is some debate about alcohol - even though it gives the product a nicer texture and increases penetration, it is also known to dry out skin and disrupt the skin barrier with long term use. So how does the serum actually perform? It has a light and silky consistency that spreads beautifully. It is quite strongly fragranced. One full dropper is enough for my whole face. It absorbs nicely without any tackiness and leaves my skin feeling hydrated and refreshed. Surprisingly, I am able to use this even if my skin is feeling slightly sensitive without any immediate irritation. This is the first black tea ferment product that I've tried, even though I've tried other ferments before. For reference, I have combination skin with an oiler T-zone. After using this for about four weeks, I am relieved to say that it doesn't cause any irritation despite the strong fragrance and the alcohol. I can't say that I have noticed any major visible improvement, since I have been using other ferments before the trial. My skin seems to be quite happy and healthy and my skin tone is more even. The serum fits into my routine well as an antioxidant serum that can be used either AM or PM and doesn't pose any conflicts with other active ingredients like acids or retinol or Vit C. I feel conflicted about this product. It is so promising with the good ingredients but I can't in good conscience recommend it to everyone because it has so much alcohol. I'm ok with the presence of alcohol in a formula, but not almost at the top before any of the goodies.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Luxe packaging for a well priced product [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks Beauty Heaven for the opportunity to trial the L'Oreal Midnight serum as part of the trial team. As an avid skincare lover I was interested to see if the product lived up to it's luxe bottle as sometimes looks can be deceiving. I was instantly reminded of my beloved Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair serum and it has a lot to live up to if it is going to earn its place in my skincare regime. The glass bottle has some weight to it and I have come close to dropping it a couple of times as it becomes slippery when you have the serum on your fingers. I have wrapped a couple of hairties around it which has helped me feel less stressed when using it. My first impression of the serum is that it is highly fragranced. It is a beautiful scent, which quickly dissipates upon application, but if you are sensitive to fragrance I believe that you should give this product a miss. Luckily I am not overly affected by scent and I had no issues with it at all. It is suggested that you apply 4 drops of the serum onto your hands and then apply over your face and neck both morning and night. The serum is almost instantly absorbed and my skin feels beautifully soft and hydrated. I tried a number of different products on top of the serum to check it it interfered with any of my usual skincare and I was happy to find that it worked beautifully with all of my routine. I use prescription Retinol every second night so I was only using this serum every second night. I would layer it with my super nourishing night moisturisers and I would wake up to refreshed, happy skin. I had no reactions at all and I feel that this product could be a good alternative to those who can't stretch their budget to the Advanced Night Repair. Apart from the bottle getting quite slippery, I also find the dropper difficult to use. I would often squeeze the dropper expecting there to be product in there when there wasn't any. I also found it difficult to dispense the correct amount of 3-4 drops. In the end I just get a full dropper full and spread that over my face and dispense a second dropper on my neck and chest. I am unsure of how much product is remaining as it is difficult to see through the glass bottle and I find this to be a negative as it would be hard to tell when you are close to having to purchase a back up. I enjoyed trialling this product but am unsure whether it has earnt it's place in my skincare regime. I will continue to use it until it is finished and will make my decision then.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hydrates and plumps [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks Beauty Heaven for the opportunity to trial this product, anything that promises hydration and reduction of wrinkles gets my attention! I have been using Loreal midnight serum for five weeks. I like that there is a supplied dropper that measures the correct amount to use. Four drops is all the directions say is required, which I was initially dubious about, but it is enough to cover the face and neck - just. The serum is absorbed quickly and feels quite nice on the skin. I can't say I have noticed any reduction in wrinkles, but my skin feels very smooth and more hydrated, which is great as my skin is very dry, I haven't had any irritation at all which is also great. The bottle is rather striking but the colour of the glass makes it impossible to see how much product is left, so it would be easy to be caught short and have no serum. The bottle has lasted five weeks using morning and night, I'm not sure how much is left but it is lasting a reasonable time so far. This product is very nice on mature skin and definitely improves the feel of the skin to touch.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A bit expensive for a basic serum [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is quite a luxe skincare product from L'Oreal packaging wise. It's dark heavy glass and designed to be displayed - not at all what I expected or usually think for the brand. The serum is quite thick, a more creamy serum. I liked the texture and although it had fragrance it didn't bother me. Unfortunately I didn't find it hydrating enough - it does say it is non-greasy and designed for all skin types, so for anyone with dry skin I would avoid. I might use this on a super hot humid day, otherwise it isn't hydrating enough for me. As creamy as it seems for a serum, it does absorb super quickly (as advertised). As for more radiant, younger looking skin, sadly I didn't see any difference in my skin. I think this serum would be a nice basic, hydrating serum for those with normal to oily skin. If you have dry skin, you may find this disappointing. I rate this 3 stars as it is a nice basic serum for the non-dry skin types, however as it didn't do anything else I think $60 is overpriced and I wouldn't purchase this.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Classic and sleek bottle [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Lucky enough to have been selected to trial the L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Cell Renewal Midnight Serum. Hovering into my late 40s, with perimenopause fast approaching. My skin is lacking the beauty, hydration, and radiant look it once presented. I was very keen to test this beauty out and hoped it was that miracle we crave to find. The bottle was presented beautifully. Golden brown glass and sleek style in design. Lovely gold lid. A syringe pump sucks up the serum from within the bottle. From my trial, I found it difficult to obtain a good amount into the syringe pump with one squeeze. Instructions suggest a few drops. I could only get out one each time, having to reinsert the pump to achieve the quantity requited. The colour of the serum is golden in colour and quite thick. The smell is not too my liking; however, it is not overpowering and definitely bearable. Applying it to my skin was nice. I had only wished that I had the day and night matching products to compliment the trial. With this trial, I used my existing products. I did not noticeably see any difference after using this product for the trial period. I would imagine having all of the same line would display a different outcome. Instructions were to use morning and night, which were contradicting to the instructions provided. With it being a night serum, I would imagine it is for night only. This is when I applied my trial. I am grateful all the same to have trialled the L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Cell Renewal Midnight Serum. It was a nice experience.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Gentle [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] L’Oréal’s age perfect cell renewal serum was a pleasure to trial. The smokey black and gold ombré glass bottle is just simply delightful, and the quilted impressions in the glass make it feel quite luxurious to hold. The coloured glass does make it a little bit difficult to see the volume of the contents, but that doesn’t really matter too much. I particularly like that it contains a dropper so you know exactly how much product to apply. The 4 drops recommended in the directions is the perfect amount to apply a thin veil over the entire face, neck and décolletage area. The product itself when applied is silky smooth to the touch and feels like it is absorbed into the skin really quickly and doesn’t leave any residue feeling sitting on top of the skin. The pale yellow hue of the serum is interesting and the smell of it is something familiar to me although I can’t quite put my finger on what it is although it is pleasant and not offensive in any way. After using the midnight serum every morning and night for a couple of weeks I can’t exactly say I am seeing dramatic results, but any product that is going to help hydrate and protect my skin from any future premature ageing is worth it in my books.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ok [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the look of this bottle. It is gorgeous and certainly feels high end. I've tried a few products from this brand, including skincare and they seem to be good. I was very excited to try this, loved that it was a dropper however I feel that it didn't exactly live up to my expectations. I was hoping to see a different in my skin, and I feel that I did but it was minimal. I wouldn't say this changed or improved my skin really, it was nice to use and I enjoyed adding the serum to my routine but nothing wow.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not my favourite [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so grateful to be chosen as part of this trial team, and excited to try the Age Perfect Cell Renewal Midnight Serum. First impressions were it was a beautiful bottle. Very aesthetically pleasing. However, not practical. I like to be able to see when I need to replace my products and the opaque black glass makes it extremely difficult. Next, the directions ask you to apply 3-4 drops to clean dry skin. When you suck the serum up in the dropper it is very thick. I found you could choose between one squirt, or no squirt. So how much to use? 3-4 squirts or hope that one squirt is 3-4 drops. For the first test I decided one squirt on clean dry skin. Nope - gone! It was sucked into my skin immediately and required 3 full droppers full to cover my whole face (my skin is not particularly dry either). The colour is pretty - a cute peach, I found the floral smell WAY too much though it does fade quickly. Didn't make my skin feel any better and I found myself using extra moisturiser because my skin felt MORE dry after use. Next few times I applied on damp skin. I received a much better spread and coverage and my skin did not feel QUITE so dry. I used this faithfully morning and night for around 3 weeks. And honestly. I came to dread using it. It didn't feel nice, it didn't add anything to my skin and if anything the only results were detrimental. I cannot wait to get back to my usual $9 serum.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not a fan [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really excited to try the new L’Oréal Midnight serum because I love trying new serums and I usually like L’Oréal skincare. It comes in a dark, weighty glass bottle that looks and feels high quality. Unfortunately that's the best thing about this serum - the packaging. The serum itself is an orange colour with a nice light, silky texture. It feels a bit sticky on application but does absorb quite well. It contains neohesperidin and vitamin E which are meant to protect against free radicals and improve cell regeneration overnight. I used it under my usual night cream and they seemed to work well together initially. However, I woke up the next morning with very dry skin which is unusual for me. I have combination skin and dry skin isn’t usually an issue for me. My makeup was also pilling during the day which also doesn’t happen with my normal skin and makeup routine. I did not like this product as it didn’t hydrate my skin or improve its appearance. I suspect the high alcohol content and fragrance is to blame so I can’t recommend this product. I’m glad I did not pay for it because it is expensive and ineffective.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not for me [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My thanks to Beauty Heaven for the opportunity to review this product. Also my thanks for getting it over to W.A. in what seemed to be record time. I was surprised to find this product was boxed in gold and brown, which seemed to me to be a bit dated. The 30 ml bottle itself was also in brown and gold, shading from dark at the top to light/gold at the bottom. Having a dropper really did help in ensuring the correct amount of product was used and I found that 3 or 4 drops was more than enough to cover my face and neck. The product itself is a creamy-yellow colour and feels creamy to the touch - I must admit I did not like the fragrance, as to me it was rather "chemical". I used this serum twice a day as instructed, and I am a bit disappointed to say that apart from my skin feeling a bit smoother, I really did not notice any difference at all. I do realise that people and their skin types do differ and what will suit one person will not suit another. However, at the price asked I really do think it is way too expensive for one to try to see if it will suit. Although I am going to answer "NO" to the question below, please bear my last notes in mind. Maybe someone younger than I will have better results.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Serum was ok [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I appreciate the opportunity to try this serum. On the positive side the serum made some difference to the way my skin felt. After a few days of use my skin felt a bit more hydrated and softer. I don't mind the sleek look of the bottle, the serum is fairly light weight and absorbed into my skin relatively easily. Unfortunately I found the scent was far too strong and not to my liking. I prefer to use unscented skin care on my face but I don't mind a little scent as long as it subtle and smells more natural compared to the perfume like smell of this serum. I will continue to use a serum to boost my skin but this one is not for me. I won't purchase it in the future.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't Recommend Fancy packaging but really hard to use! It is a good product but trying to get it out of the dropper was very annoying. I know you dont use much but that's ridiculous. I bought a second bottle thinking the first one might be faulty but it wasn't. Ended up using it without the dropper. Forget the pretty bottle if we can't get the priduct out!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Cell Renewal Midnight Serum as part of a trial team. I was really excited to be chosen as this product looked amazing in the promotional material and being in my 40's, I was in the target group. The bottle looked sophisticated and luxurious. The serum smelled lovely which was a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately that's where the positives ended for me. Unlike other serums I use, this one is completely unspreadable. I found it brought out little red imperfections in my skin and highlighted brow wrinkles. For me, it's a big no. I found it unpleasant to use with no benefits even after a few weeks of use. However everyone's skin is different and for others it might be amazing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from My skin did not like this [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The L'Oréal Age Perfect Cell Renewal Midnight Serum looks very upmarket, I would have guessed it was Estee Lauder just by looking at the packaging. It's a heavy graduated dark Amber glass bottle with a dropper. The screw lid is gold, the rubber dropper is black on top, and clear on the inside. I find the dropper dispenses the perfect amount with one squeeze. This is rather strongly fragranced if this is an issue for you. It has wonderful slip, so applies beautifully. It worked well with different serums and creams, it didn't pill and it sinks into the skin quickly. It does have denatured alcohol in it, which works as a preservative and to make it feel so weightless, but this can be drying to some skin types and if each item you're using on your face has it, it all adds up. My problem is, it caused me to have deep pimples. I have rarely had pimples even as a teen, and I've never felt pimples like this before. They were deep, they did not come to a head and while using this I had a lot of them. So for me, this is a no. It did not help the small amount of wrinkles I have and gave me bumpy skin that I've never had before. I don't know what ingredient my skin didn't like, but this wasn't a look I expected in my mid 40s.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't see any results [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first saw this product I was extremely underwhelmed by the packaging - it clearly is trying to imitate a very expensive, cult following product and they seem to have taken that to every single detail of this down to the packaging....but then not done it very well. The packaging is not attractive, a dull brown, 70s esque type bottle, with a suck up dropper delivery method. Whilst I love this for the cross contamination point of view, who isn't washing their face before applying a product like this, so is entirely unnecessary and just means you loose a lot of product you are paying for at the end as you are unable to access it (as its a thick liquid that doesn't pour). Glass for me in the bathroom is a no-no, so another fail on that front. After opening the bottle, I was however impressed with the texture. This is a silky beige brown thick lotion like consistency, similar to the item I believe this is trying to be, and it applies well, with an easily absorbed feel. No greasy slick after applying, it sank into skin nicely. There was no smell I could detect. I trialed this for nearly a month and sadly have seen no difference in my skin at all - no smoothness, no more hydration, no banishing of fine lines, no effect on my uneven skin tone. Sadly this is a huge fail and pass for me - the only thing of note about this product is that it wasn't smelly and sank in nicely, but at the end of the day, if it doesn't work, whats the point? Very sad.
