Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple gentle no frills skincare [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Cetaphil skin cleanser is like a staple go to item if you’re needing skincare that is gentle and not going to irritate your skin. It’s fragrance free and non comedogenic so is useful if wanting a good old fashioned cleanser without the fancy fragrance and texture. I was expecting the cleanser to pump out a little more viscous like I’ve experienced from other liquid cleansers that have a similar semi opacity however this is more liquid in that it doesn’t ‘hold’ or ‘sit’ when you pump it into your hand. It rubs on more liquidy then gel like. While this isn’t a preferred texture for myself, I do think it’s great for kids especially with eczema as it’s easy to apply. Overall a good product that does its job.

It’s super gentle—creamy, non-foaming, and leaves my face soft, not tight. No irritation, even after shaving, and the fragrance-free vibe is a big plus. Niacinamide and glycerin keep my combo skin balanced, calming redness too. Downsides? It struggles with heavy sunscreen—double cleansing’s a drag—and the 125ml bottle runs out quick for twice-daily use. The pump can clog if you’re not careful, too. Still, it’s a solid, no-fuss cleanser that keeps breakouts at bay and my skin happy in humid weather. Not perfect, but definitely a keeper!

The smell is unpleasant and I could feel the difference straight away. For the first time in 20 years I am contemplating trying a different brand. Very disappointing.

I cannot find anything to wash my face with, surely as a company you realise the mistake of changing the formula? I used to rave about Cetaphil and it's just so bad now, its a shame that there is no listening to the very clear complaints. Disappointed.

It’s smells funky, leaves a stinky residue on my face washer, and doesn’t leave the same clean, gentle, soft feel of the original formula. Why would you mess with a good thing? Please, please bring back the original formula! I cannot buy your product any more. Absolutely devastated to have to find a new cleanser after all these years. Why do companies do this to their incredibly loyal customers?

The sense of smell is a powerful one and an instant arbiter of purchasing decisions. The smell is so bad that I will switch to another product even though I've used Cetaphil for more than 20 years.

The new one smells like it has gone off, very similar to the smell of vomit. It is disgusting and I don't know how it got past your quality control team. I will never buy it again because the smell is intolerable.

I have been using this cleanser for 30 years at the recommendation of my dermatologist and all of my adult children have grown up with the pump pack in the shower and they miss it too! The new formula has a really unpleasant smell while using and leaves the skin feeling like it has been cleaned with soap. I cannot believe that I will now have to find a new cleanser.
