General Information

The Manicare® Volcanic Stone Roller Oil Absorber absorbs and eliminates excess oil to mattify the skin for a shine-free, streak-free finish. Clinically proven to instantly reduce up to 90% of shine^. 100% of users noticed fast absorption of excess oil^. Made from natural volcanic stone.

Unlike blotting papers that are single-use, this roller is reusable and is made from natural volcanic stone that acts as an oil absorber. All you need to do is wash with a gentle cleanser, rinse, air dry, and place it back in for use!

The roller can be used to prep your skin before makeup application, or throughout the day over your makeup. Suitable for most skin types. Replacement volcanic ball included.

Directions

Remove the cap and gently roll the volcanic stone roller around your face, especially your T-zone (forehead and nose) area.

USAGE ADVICE

To clean, twist the locking ring around the stone clockwise to unlock. Gently push the volcanic stone down and remove it from its holder. Wash with warm water and a gentle cleanser. Rinse and air-dry overnight. Use the replacement volcanic ball alternately and lock back into place by twisting the locking ring anti-clockwise.

I rolled in a vertical line down my nose and noticed it became matte. Subsequent uses have not been as dramatic but I’m not sure if it’s because I’m not cleaning the stone properly. I used hand soap and warm water but maybe need something stronger to remove the oil? Have yet to use this over makeup but think this product makes a great touch up tool for my oily T-zone when I’m on the go. I like how it comes with 2 stones for interchanging between. Be careful though… the stone will most likely roll off whichever table you leave it on!

Rolling is like a mini-massage — not quite go-sea level, but just enough. The rock sucks off oil very quickly. It takes just one pass to get rid of most of the excess on my cheeks, chin, and the centre of my nose. My forehead hoards grease, so it does take a few passes there. And you don’t have to press it into your skin for it to work. The roller isn’t a cure-all. My face will always be on the oily side, despite having my skin-care routine down pat. But when I get too oily, I now have the perfect fix.

Takes seconds to do and it absorbs the oil so fast ! It's quick and easy to roll across affected areas, and a really handy solution for achieving a matte freshen up on the go, especially for me with a oily T-zone . It's a new handbag staple and I use it everyday- it's just so much simpler than the many other oil absorption/mattifying products I've used, yet very effective.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first received this product I was quite skeptical, how could this little stone roller reduce the shine... I love that it is natural, easy to use, convenient - I can just pop it in my bag and no mess.. Oh and durable, a lot more user friendly than oil absorbent paper blotter things (no concerns about it getting dirty or fall apart in my handbag). And I have found it works really well. Took it out of my handbag when stopped at the lights and a quick roll over, quick look in my mirror and the shine definitely had reduced. I would definitely recommend. However keep away from young children, my 15 month old loved it a little too much too and takes some convincing to give it up.

This one is definitely more eco-friendly because the stone roller inside is reusable. I like the cooling effect on my face when I use the roller on my face especially on the T-zone. After a few seconds, I can instantly see the stone turned its colour to darker due to the oil it has removed from my face. It has a clear lid on the top and the size of the tool is great for use on the go. I like using it so far.

It does seem quite flimsy and I imagine it would probably break easily. The plastic didn’t seem to be the best quality. The use of the product was pretty good! It certainly delivered and absorbed oil, but perhaps too much?! It’s honestly quite drying. It was difficult to clean the ball and I felt like it was just never truly clean. I’d use it but probably wouldn’t purchase it! I’d be interested if they could make one not out of plastic. I must add - watching the ball absorb all the oil is very satisfying, haha.

I didn’t try to use during the day, due to the possibility of having makeup also absorb ( I don’t think it would be very hygienic). I washed the ball every two days and replaced with the spare. Changing the balls can be a little tricky at first, and I was concerned about breaking the product. I found the plastic a little cheap and would be concerned if it broke whilst carrying in a handbag. Maybe if it was made from another product, it would appear to be so cheap.

Works well to absorb shines on my face, however I am naturally not that oily, only on my T-zone on super hot summer days. Easy to use with a hygienic cap, however not sure if I like that it's got holes because dust might get in and irritate my skin. I like that it comes with a replacement stone. So far I have no irritation from it. Love the potential of environmental friendliness of this. Would recommend for people who have oily skin

It absorbs oil well on the face and the volcanic stone is a little quirky and something you don’t see or hear about! However, a few things I feel needs to be looked at!! Firstly - the extra loose stone - how are we supposed to keep that fresh when there is no proper container for storage and the stone can easily be lost? Secondly, the container itself is quite awkward and bulky! I already have a lot of things to carry in my bag, and carrying an extra weight and luggage is not necessary. People would, unfortunately in this case, choose the paper oil absorbers as it’s handier and more convenient to carry!

The volcanic stone roller really helped with the stubborn oily T-Zone that I can get so I can see myself using this a lot more when it comes around to warmer weather to help my skin and makeup looking matte and fresh at all times. Was a little strange to use at first but once you get used to it, you will be pleasantly surprise. It is a very interesting and innovative product and nice and compact too! I recommend those who use blot paper for their oily skin products to keep this product handy and in your purse to use quickly and effectively or just to keep close by.

I was able to put this product to the test, to eliminate that unwanted shine at a recent wedding I attended. The product served me very well, when I reviewed the numerous photos I could tell this product did want it said it would do, absorb all that unwanted oil, and mattify my skin. There was no unwanted shine in the photos, my skin looked silky smooth and didn't take away any makeup I was wearing. However, it loses two stars because I'm not a fan of the plastic material choice and overall design look. I am also unsure of how long you can hygienically use this product for, before you need to change the volcanic ball over..

It looks a little cheap and not very environmentally conscious. Perhaps the holder could be made with some sort of bamboo? It seems unnecessary in my makeup/skincare routine as I am not so bothered by these things but it does WORK. It did absorb the oily bits on my T-zone and made it matte so I think this would be super handy in summer time or for those of us prone to oily skin. Again, a little chunky to carry around.

Often I'm not too fond of blotting paper because of the waste, so this solves that problem. The stone does a somewhat good job of getting rid of the shine on my face without makeup. I have not tried it over makeup yet, but I look forward to it. The stone is easy to wash and you can tell when it is clean because of the colour. The only concerns I have are the extra stone. There is nowhere to place the extra stone on the product. I originally assumed it would go in the tube, but it did not fit and I am afraid to lose it. Overall, it did its job.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Purple and practical [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So this cute oil absorber roller comes in a perfect shade of purple and is quite compact in size. The closest thing I've used to this are oil blotting sheets and they were average at best. My favourite part of this item is how it feels, convenience and ease of use. As far as absorbing oil, it does a pretty good job. Definitely something I'd use more in the Summer and definitely if I was on vacation. If you do prefer a very matte look then this is worth trying. The price point is also very good and it's cheaper than more luxe brands similar to this.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Volcanic stone roller [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First impressions is i like the look of the volcanic stone roller it comes with a purple base with a clear lid so you can see the stone and it also comes with a second stone which i love the idea off as you will always have one available to use. i don't really have oily skin so i haven't been able to give a full review how effective it is but when i have tried it it has seemed to soak up any oil as the stone goes a darker colour after use. i found it was better to use without make up on as it did seem to remove some of my foundation as you do need to be a bit firm with it. i would recommend for people with oily skin to try this product for themselves but if you are like me and aren't really oily then this product probably wouldn't be helpful.

It is environmentally friendly and the stone roller had a nice feeling on my face. I didn't think that I would like this oil absorber, however it definitely removed excess oil and made my face more matte. I think it is a great product to be able to use on the go. However, it did require firm rolling to get the full effect, which slightly altered the look of my makeup. While it made a tiny difference in the look of my makeup, I would say the benefit of oil absorption outweighs this.

So far I have only used with no make up on and works well at mattifying and removing excess oil on my face, for me this is around my nose and forehead. Due to it being winter I am not suffering from excess oil as much as I would in the summer. I can imagine in the summer it'll be super useful on the go - parties, days out, site walks for work, where my skin tends to get that oily shine that I hate. I haven't tried using it with make up on... not sure if you are supposed to and how that'll work

I did have to press quite hard. But it did the job it says. I like the cute packaging and that you also get the extra stone. It's easy to change over and it's eco friendly and reusable. It isn't like any other oil remover I have used previously, this was very easy. Would recommend using on face product free as not sure how you would go using over makeup as I'd say it would remove some of it. That is really the only thing that made me not give more stars as I really like this product.

It comes with 2 of the rollers, a spare and then the one inside the packaging. First impressions were that the lid felt like it would break of any second or just fall off, so I do not want to bring it outside the house with me. As far as the actual product, it does remove oil but since my face is quite oily, after one use I want to immediately wash it or I feel gross about using it again. For disassembling, it is easy and no issues and I like that they give you a spare so when one is drying you can use the other. I recommend this insofar as you do not have excessively oily skin as it might just feel gross using an oily roller, even after one use as it absorbs a lot of it.

It definitely made my skin more matte but after a few rolls around my face. I used the product with no makeup on and I was expecting product to come off but it didn’t which was great! I am not sure how it would go over top of makeup as it required firm movements by me to get the full effect. I think if I put it in the fridge it would make an amazing cooling face roller! Pretty impressed as I didn’t think it would actually mattify my skin as well as it did.

Unfortunately I think it has missed the mark. At a base level, it does work, I did notice an improvement on oil absorption when I used it over my makeup that had been on for a while. However, I do think that it has missed the mark with the size of the roller head. It seems like you have to put quite a bit of pressure in order for it to collect the oil which disrupts your makeup. I also question how hygienic it is after a few uses.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Functional, but not stylish [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wasn't a massive fan of this product, the roller did work to mattify the skin with and without makeup, but I didn't like the design. Functionality - the ball is easy to clean, albeit a bit fiddly to reattach, but I imagine you get better at that after a few times. Absorbs the oils in the skin very quickly and doesn't appear to remove makeup when used with it on. Although it didn't smooth the makeup out so you'd still have to touch up or do this separately. Design: it is like a chunky lipstick for 5 yr olds, very pink, and feels quite cheap. Not very subtle if using while you're out or storing in the bag.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unfortuntaly didn't live up to expectations [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was part of the trial of the Manicare Volcanic Stone Roller Oil Absorber and it had pros and cons. PROs: • The size is compact and it could be easily go into a handbag for an on-the-go application. The lid would give the ball added protection • First use had amazing oil absorption • Easy to use, comfortable to hold CONs: • If you didn't cleanse the roller after each use it did not absorb any oil at all, it actually felt like it was depositing oil back onto my skin. • Washing after every use was a bit of a hassle and as I have used this in winter it mean I could only use it once a day. It did come with a 2nd ball but no little holder to house i the ball if had been washed. I think blotting papers are easier to use than the roller due t the constant washing required for the ball to oil absorbent.
