Dermatological hydrating repair serum for dry, sensitive skin.

The Cicaplast B5 Ultra Repair Serum is La Roche Posay's first dermatological serum with 10% Vitamin B5. With an efficient hydrating formula, the Cicaplast B5 Ultra Repair Serum has been specifically developed for dry skin prone to redness, skin tightness or discomfort. When used daily, the dry skin serum helps to hydrate and maintain the skin moisture barrier. Enriched with a highly concentrated humectant Vitamin B5 to help increase hydration and reduce trans-epidermal water loss, the skin repair serum formula also contains HEPES to help stimulate skin renewal, reinforce the moisture barrier, and comfort skin. The formula includes ingredients that are known to support the skin against everyday environmental aggressors like air pollution, temperature changes, low humidity and dryness. It also helps with topical irritations such as over-use of active ingredients and superficial skin procedures. The combination of hydrating and repair ingredients is also beneficial for skin impacted by lifestyle changes (lack of sleep, stress, poor diet). • La Roche-Posay have formulated this Cicaplast serum for dry and sensitive skin, however it is ideal to use on all skin types. • Use the skin repair serum daily for best results. • Suitable for use on post-superficial skin procedures on face. The La Roche-Posay Cicaplast serum for dry skin has been dermatologically tested to ensure suitability of the serum for sensitive skin types. KEY INGREDIENTS Repairing - 10% Vitamin B5 - Also known as Panthenol, Vitamin B5 is a humectant that attracts moisture from its surroundings and is able to lock in moisture within the skin. Vitamin B5 for skin is used to help support and maintain the skin moisture barrier. Due to its capability to attract and retain moisture, using Vitamin B5 helps soften skin, keeping it moist and helps prevent dryness. Vitamin B5 supports the skin moisture barrier through hydration, and reduces trans-epidermal water loss (TEWL), helping to reduce dryness and associated itchiness and discomfort. 10% Vitamin B5 has been added to the repair serum formula to hydrate and repair dry sensitive skin. Refining - HEPES - HEPES helps to gently exfoliate dead skin cells that are bound to the surface of the skin, refining clogged pores and uneven texture resulting in a smoother skin texture. HEPES has been used in the formulation to help even skin tone and refine skin texture. Soothing - Aqua Posae Filiformis (APF) - This prebiotic skincare is used to help rebalance the skin microbiome.

Directions

HOW TO USE:

- Apply 1-2 drops of this serum for dry, sensitive skin both morning and evening on face and neck on freshly cleansed face and before moisturiser.
- Gently press onto the face and neck until the serum is fully absorbed
- Avoid repeatedly massaging the face serum in circles.
- Wait at least 30 seconds before applying other skincare products.
- If using highly active ingredients in skincare routine:
- Regularly use (Skin with tolerance) - use cicaplast B5 serum last.
-Starting to use (building up tolerance) - use cicaplast B5 serum first


RECOMMENDED DAILY SKINCARE ROUTINE WITH THE CICAPLAST B5 SERUM:
For best results for hydrating skin repair and protection, use the products in the order listed below:

1. Toleriane Gentle Cream Dermo Cleanser, to gently cleanse face.
2. Cicaplast B5 Facial Sheet Mask, to kick start skin hydration or use weekly for regular hydration boost
3. Cicaplast B5 Serum for skin moisture barrier repair.
4. Anthelios Invisible Fluid Facial Sunscreen SPF50+, to protect the skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hydrating Facial Serum [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having received the La Roche-Posay Cicaplast B5 Serum in the Mail, comes in a Recyclable Cardboard Box, with a small glass bottle with a glass eyedropper. Following the instructions to put some of the Serum on my neck & decolletage as well as my face morning and night, the serum is a transparent creamy white serum didn't have any visible smell at all that I noticed. After using my Skin Cleanser and Toner I applied the La Roche-Posay Cicaplast B5 Serum to my face and neck allowing the serum to be fully absorb into my skin before applying my night cream, after this I used my Rose Quartz Gua Sha to massage my skin as well as my Rose Quartz Roller. My Daytime Routine I have a Shower and Cleanse my face and neck with an exfoliate, applied the Serum to my neck and decolletage as well as my face, making sure to allow it to fully absorb before putting on my Day Cream, after this I apply my face sunscreen, primer and makeup for the day. Absolutely love how hydrated my skin has been after using La Roche-Posay Cicaplast B5 Serum, my skin is always soft and supple it seems to replump my skin especially around my eyes and the corners of my mouth. Would recommend this product for day and night time use.

Like most people after winter my skin was in need of some tlc. In and out of heating my skin had been dry and in some spots flaky. For the past 3 weeks as per instructions after cleansing my skin morning and evening I then applied a couple of drops of the serum using the dropper provided to the palms of my hands and gentle pressed it into my skin. The serum is white in colour and lightweight, my skin soaked it right up and my skin didn’t feel tacky afterwards. My skin felt as if it was instantly comforted and hydrated and as each day passes I have noticed less flakes, a more smooth and softer appearance and well moisturised skin. I would recommend this for all skin types as I believe everyone could benefit from a serum like this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Takes Away Sensitized Skin [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I found this to be effective to the extreme to calm and soothe my sensitized skin which was caused by either a dental anaesthetic (from having a filling fixed) and I think he hit a nerve which effected my skin plus maybe also having a skin treatment which was a little more invasive than the usual at-home skin treatments with products. So it was either both of those things or one of them but there is one thing for sure: my skin was left more thirsty and sensitive on one area of my cheek in particular. This product definitely came to the rescue and I was so excited that I had a real issue for it to deal with! Straight away it calmed my skin and soothed the sensitivity but it increasingly worked it's magic with regular use of twice a day, after cleansing. I basically did not have any sensitive skin at all after a day and the regular use of it kept the sensitization under complete control. I was so relieved! I will be keeping this humble gem of a product (packaging is simple and straightforward and great for any gender) within my collection for use on days and weeks when I need to use it. I did love that it also treated my dryness at the same time. It made things simplified at night and morning routine. I still like to use a separate eye serum though because I always have loved using separate eye products anyhow. That's just me. I also like to use intensively nourishing products on my neck and specific neck products as I extremely need that there and this serum was soothing and took away initial basic dry feelings there. It's great under my neck cream. The best thing for me about this product is it's ability to de-sensitize the skin though and that is what I will buy it for again in the future when this bottle runs out. There is not really a scent to this milky serum. The texture was easy to squirt a dose from the dropper and then rub into my skin - it was not too drippy at all like some serums can be that have droppers. I loved spritzing a hydrating spray after applying this serum as it helps it to really sink right into my skin too. I highly recommend this serum for those wanting a de-sensitizing product that really works fast and well.

I have tried the balm before and have found this very soothing too, so trying it in the serum form was wonderful as I could compare the differences. I loved that this serum was light to use and that it spread quickly with its thermal spring water base. It is refreshing to feel the soothing thermal spring water quality doing its work and it leaves a supple feeling, no tightness. A hydrating barrier is provided after it absorbs into the skin and dries quickly, making it super easy to apply my everyday moisturiser and applying my makeup routine. La Roche Posay is a trusted brand for me. The quality of the ingredients always shines through and it feels great for sensitive skin. Overall, I found it wonderfully hydrating and my skin felt soothed, smoother and softer.

I absolutely love this brand and having had sensitive skin for quite some time, this is my go-to brand for ultimate skin care for sensitive skin. I love their sun screen range and this product here has proven just as great. I used the serum in the mornings and evening using the dropper provided. I generous drop was sufficient in gliding all over my face. It absorbed beautifully and left a feeling of wonderful smoothness and ultimate refreshed skin. I think this freshness is due to the addition of the well known and comforting thermal spring water. It also has vitamin B5 and HEPES which are included to maintain skin renewal and even tone. I really think this product delivers what it says as continued usage over the initial three weeks has shown vast improvement to my skin hydration and my skin has felt calm and non-irritated. I will highly recommend this product for a great skin recovery serum. Just fantastic.

I applied it on my face every day morning and night time after cleansing.I only need 2 to 3 drop cover my whole face.I didn't notice any fragrance and it did not cause any irritation to my skin.Since using this serum my skin feel much hydrated,smoothed and healthy looking.It layers perfectly under my other skincare products and make-up. It glides onto my skin nicely, feels a little sticky at first, but absorbs very quickly without leaving any residue. This serum comes in 30ml dropper bottle.The dropper only pick up a small amount of product when using. I think anyone with dry, dehydrated or dull skin will get a good result out of this. This would also make a great treatment for comfort and soothe the sun exposed skin.

Cicaplast B5 Serum was a very welcomed product to my skincare routine because it is so soothing and hydrating. When the season changes I need to make adjustments, which in winter usually means adding in an extra nourishing product. My skin was dry and slightly bumpy so it needed an extra injection of B5 serum to calm it down. It is packaged in a convenient glass bottle with an easy to apply dropper. I applied it morning and night after cleansing and let me tell you it feels great. I love that it is fragrance-free and creates a glowing, dewy freshness like no other that I have tried! It 100% provides a calming hydration without the irritation and I will continue to use this product.

Using the pipette that comes with the serum separately then doubles as the lid I draw up enough to disperse 1-2 drops and gently massage it into my skin. The serum is cloudy white in colour, there is a mild scent and it is lightweight in consistency it absorbs beautifully (it isn’t sticky) and quickly leaving my skin feel soft and hydrated. I only had to wait 30 seconds or so before following with my day or night moisturiser. My skin feels so much softer, it feels and is visibly much more hydrated and moisturised then it was before using this serum. I am eager to see after prolonged use if it will provide any any further results for my skin.

I've wanted to try something in La Roche-Posay Cicaplast B5 range for a while now after hearing about how repairing panthenol (vitamin B5) is. I didn't want to buy a face cream as I have other moisturisers I enjoy using, so adding this serum to my daily routine was something that fit perfectly for me. After a couple of weeks my face appears calmer and after use I always look hydrated - and my skin feels hydrated, too. The serum is a white milky texture and rubs in well and dries reasonably fast. It is deposited via a glass pipette, which is easy enough to use but sometimes I do wonder if I put enough on? The serum plays well with other skincare products and I would definitely recommend if you're interested in trying out panthenol and/or if you have dry or sensitive skin.

It comes in a dropper bottle that easily measures the right amount out serum to apply to the face. The formulation is non-fragranced and non-sticky. It does take a while to absorb so make sure you wait for it to absorb before applying your moisturizer on top. For best results, try to apply it immediately after cleansing the face. Now having a full size mean can go crazy and use on neck and decolletage. The serum has 10% B5 vitamin, which is effective to shoot and hydrate sensitive, dry skin. I have aging, dry skin and this serum just amazing. Really light and absorb quickly. I used twice a day under my moisturiser and and day time I put on my La Roche sun cream. What a beautiful combo. My skin feel soft, plumped,and well hydrated means less fine lines.

I have been using it for a few weeks now. My skin feels plumper and much less irritated. The serum isn't sticky, and plays well with other serums and skin products (it doesn't pill under makeup!). I would recommend this to anyone looking for a serum to hydrate and soothe their skin, whether they have naturally sensitive skin or have damaged their skin barrier with masks or using products that didn't agree with their skin. Honestly, you can't go wrong with La Roche-Posay. I regularly use their cleanser and moisturisers - I've never met a product from La Roche Posay I didn't like! It's a very gentle, very reliable skincare line and this new serum is a great addition to my skincare routine. I'll be reaching for it whenever my skin is feeling irritated or compromised.

As Im going through menopause I found it really beneficial to help restore hydration and stop my skin looking and feeling so dry. The serum is really easy to use with its eye-dropper applicator. I really like the way it spreads on my face- a little goes a long way, making it last longer and much more cost effective. HEPES is Hydroxyethylpiperazine Ethane Sulfonic Acid. it softens the stratum corneum, gently exfoliaties dead skin, and also promotes the penetration and absorption of active ingredients into the deeper layers of the skin. Ferment Vitreoscilla, a probiotic ingredient naturally rich in amino acids, for a healthy skin barrier and microbiome. My skin has been very dry and dehydrated with patches of redness for quite a while. I've had limited success with other products I've been using. This serum has really helped the dryness in my skin. My skin looks healthier and feels more hydrated. It does feel quite comforting on my skin. What I don't like is the bottle and dropper. The serum ends up oozing over the outside at the of the bottle. It's not a deal breaker but it's a little messy and the application could be improved. I would buy this product but it's fairly pricey so I would check for specials.

I had been searching for a product to help with some small sun spots on my face. The spots had been bothering me and this product seemed to just fall in my lap. I started using this serum immediately and after 5 days, I swear the sun spots have lightened up! If it can lighten up this much in 5 days, I can't wait to see what will happen in a month! I am super impressed and I definitely will keep using this product. For me to make this statement, I am saying a lot, normally once I run out of a product, I just switch to the newest and latest skincare product. I worked the serum in with my daily routine and the serum was smooth to touch and silky on application. The applicator was easy to use and the serum was opaque and of an egg white consistency. Great coverage with the suggested amount of application both morning and night. Non-sticky to the touch after application, the serum was non-fragrant, leaving no irritation or redness. The impact was instant on my skin especially reducing fine lines, leaving a pleasant face fullness, particularly around the eye and mouth areas. The effects of the serum were long lasting throughout the day and into the evening and consistently over 7 day period. Loving this serum!

I tried this during both day and night and prefer to use it in my morning. At the moment I use it only in the mornings and it soothes and protect my skin barrier during the day. I apply the serum and massage my face and neck with it for a few seconds. I have used this serum for a week now and it definitely did help my skins dryness and minimal redness. It absorbs nicely and doesn't irritate my skin. It is fragrance free with a highly concentrated humectant Vitamin B5. I would recommend this product.

It worked perfectly and I will be using this everyday as part of my skincare it helped with the dryness but also with my pimples. Love love love this product will always use it now and forever. I am 16 and new to skincare but this product I could see immediate change. It's long lasting results. I just really really love this product even my mum wants to try it. If your skin is dry or even have some acme it will work within the first use and if you continue it will become big and great results, you can tell after just one use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Serum hydrate my skin, It's like it locks in to help with Hydation and helps with moisturizing my dry skin .Cicaplast Serum is amazing for dry sensitive skin for me that is. My skin is not irritated by using it everyday for me that is a big plus. As my skin is very damaged from years in the sun and pure neglect. It absorb very fast , not sticky, milky colour but is clear in texture . Love how it's a glass eyedroper thing. I use it after I have washed my face before I use my moisture. My skin seem to be very happy with Cicaplast B5 ultra repair serum.

Still some redness in areas but a visible improvement. Definitely will keep using. I have to ask, is it ok to be applying Toleraine Sensitive prebiotic moisturiser after application?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Thick juicy hydrating serum I quite like this serum because it's very hydrating. It is white in colour and has a very light scent. I find the pipette to be a bit too thick and at times it struggles to pick up the thick juicy serum. The serum bottle comes with a lid which you take off and attach the pipette lid. I would prefer if the pipette came on the bottle. I find the 2 lids to be a waste. I like to use this serum as my day time serum as I find it soothing and calming. It's a great winter serum. My skin type is combination and this is well suited to my skin and keeps me hydrated all day. Also if I ever get any dry areas on my face from using retinol this is the perfection skin saviour.

It doesn't feel sticky on your face and I can honestly see and feel a difference. I use an hour before bed to make sure its fully set in before hitting the pillow. I find it so much lighter and more comfortable than most oil based moisturisers. I have quite dry skin with freckles and im even noticing after using this product that my foundation even seems to cover more rather than sink into my skin. I cant sing the praises of this product enough.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Serum for Sensitive Skin This serum comes in a 30ml glass bottle with a dropper, that in my opinion could have been improved if it wasn't so wide. I found it troublesome to get a measurable amount of serum & often ended up with product on the lip of the bottle when trying to put the dropper back in. The thick white serum has a slight medicated/chemical scent that fades quickly after application. It glides on and absorbs within seconds to leave my face feeling and looking smoother & more even toned, with a non-sticky finish. It came with very limited instructions, so it was a bit of trial & error to see how best to layer it. I personally found it worked better by itself, as it occasionally resulted in piling when paired with some of my other skincare products. I found it worked well as a primer under my foundation though. It delivered on its promise to sooth red, irritated skin, but for me, it wasn't hydrating enough on its own to stop the dry flaking skin building up by the end of the day. Overall, it is a nice serum for those who have reactive/sensitive skin, but personally I didn't see enough positive, lasting results to justify the higher price tag which is why I subtracted a star.

Firstly I like the fact that it didn’t really have any scent as I find some products are very strong smelling and overpowering. After applying, skin feels smooth and a small amount seems to go a long way. The back of my hands get quite dry these days so I put a little there as well. The dropper wasn’t the best - I mostly wiped a bit off the edge of it. It’s a bit over my regular budget but if I saw it on special, I probably would purchase it. Overall a nice serum to use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cicaplast for the win! I have always been a massive fan of La Roche Posay, especially the Cicaplast range- the sheet mask, hand cream, repair balm, lip treatment! Everything- you name it, I've tried it! This range has saved my skin barrier from being destroyed- sunburns to harsh reactions to skincare products. It has been my saving grace and a staple. I was nervous this wouldn't live up to my expectations, because I really love the other products in the range, and it would just be a big disappointment if this one flopped. But I've been using it morning and night for the past week, and honestly – I think LRP nailed it (again). While I rarely meet a hydrating serum I don't love, this is just a really nice time for my skin. Recently I've been experiencing breakouts around my chin and cheek (hormonal, I reckon. Or maybe stress. Or trying too many products. HARD TO SAY), but once I started trialling this, everything just seems to look... better? The redness around my chin and nose has gone down. The flaky patches of torn skin around my pimples (cause squeezing) and around my nose (cause perpetually dry) is smooth and hydrated. And I'm not saying it cured my breakouts, but they've stopped being really angry (for now). I love how it makes my skin feels (comfy, hydrated and plump) and I feel I can comfortably sandwich on things like vitamin C and retinol without risking irritation and further dryness. While it's not the cheapest hydrating serum on the market, for the quality and science-backed formula – I reckon it's worth all the hype. That said, between the serum and the repair cream, I would choose the cream all the time.

I have combination sensitive skin which at times due ro the elements can get very dry and flaky. With this product a small amount works well and do not need to put a large amount on. I use this in the mornings to make my skin feel soft and ready for the day. This helps in keeping my skin nourished and feeling less dry even in the elements. I also love that it does not feel heavy on your face and a tiny amount of this serum works well without leaving your face sticky or oily.

Thank you Beauty Heaven for sending this lovely Repair Serum out to me. As soon as I received this CICAPLAST B5 Ultra repair serum I started using it. Is really great to use. It comes with a dropper which works very well and only a drop comes out at a time. As it says on the label non sticky finish. It is absorbed very quickly and makes my skin feel soft and lovely. Not sure that I like the white bottle as you cannot see how much is left and will really only know once the serum is finished and if you are not going near the shopping centre you may be left without any CicaPlast B5 serum. I received this in a trial and I am so pleased that I did as I have enjoyed using it and would buy it again, but for the price. I bit on the high side for my budget.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love La-Roche Posay serums! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have tried a lot of serums and La-Roche Posay are my favourites hands down. I have used their Hyaluronic, Vitamin C and Effaclar serums, so was excited to try Cicaplast in this trial team. Cicaplast serum comes in the same packaging as all LaRoche serums, glass bottle with dropper. The glass makes it feel expensive and the dropper is effective at distributing exact amounts of product. The serum comes out a milky white but soaks into the skin clear. It has a very light scent, which I’m not really a fan of, but thankfully it doesn’t linger. My skin gets very affected by cold weather and wind. It gets really dry over winter, especially moving from cold outdoors to very heated indoors. The timing of this trial was perfect as it gave my skin a much needed post-winter hydration boost! I used it each night before bed, after cleansing and my eye serum and before moisturising. The skin around my cheeks that was dry and rough has now become soft and smooth. I am very impressed by the change to my skin texture in a short amount of time. This serum is a bit heavier than the straight Hyaluronic one, so it has been good for extra hydration. I will continue to reuse when my skin needs a hydration boost, but for everyday use across summer I will probably swap back to something a bit more lightweight.
