What makes the LED Device work?
We're glad you asked! Our unique LED light technology has a very specific 400-420 nm wavelength of visible violet light. This lights elevates the bleaching power of hydrogen peroxide, which is effective against a broad spectrum of stains. Hydrogen peroxide is the same expert ingredient used by dentists to deeply whiten your teeth. Is the teeth whitening device safe for use?
At Colgate, we take the safety of your dental care seriously. Our Teeth Whitening Device has been rigorously tested and is 100% safe for consumer use. It won't harm your tooth enamel or gums.

Will the teeth whitening device cause sensitivity?
This kit has been designed for no teeth sensitivity, however, each individuals teeth whitening experience can vary. If you experience more than mild tooth sensitivity or gum discomfort, stop use and consult your dentist.

How should the device fit?
Once you've applied the serum, insert the LED device into your mouth and bite down on the side wings if you find it necessary. The lightweight, flexible LED device moulds to your mouth, so you don't have to sacrifice comfort when it comes to whitening your teeth!

Why do my teeth have to be "dry"?
For best results teeth need to be "dry". After brushing your teeth, simply dab your teeth with a tissue or wipe them with your finger. The treatment quickly forms a smudge-proof hydrogen peroxide film on your teeth once applied. When your teeth are dry, the film adheres to your teeth better for enhanced whitening.

How much serum should I apply?
A thin layer of serum is all that you need. 1-2 clicks of serum is enough to whiten up to 4 teeth.

What if my pen runs out?
We've got you covered! You can purchase replacement Colgate Optic White Teeth Whitening Pens from all major retailers, and continue using your FlexLight LED device for a more confident smile.

How long does the pen last?
The pen delivers 30 treatments, but this can vary by user.

How often can I use the LED whitening kit?
Because teeth staining is caused mostly by what we eat and drink (tea, coffee, and wine), the longevity of whitening results can vary greatly among individuals. We suggest completing a full treatment with your Optic White FlexLight LED Whitening Kit up to four times a year to maintain a bright smile. That's 10 minutes a day for 10 days in a row x 4 times per year.

How do I get the best whitening results?
For best results, you should use the device for 10 minutes a day for 10 days in a row. Once you have completed your whitening treatment, leave the serum on for at least 4 hours and refrain from drinking and eating in those 4 hours. Better yet, allow the dried serum on your teeth to work its magic overnight while you catch those zzz's. The next morning, brush like normal to remove the serum coating and reveal your brighter, whiter smile.

I was lucky enough to try the Colgate Optic White LED FlexLight Teeth Whitening Kit for 10 days and it's safe to say that they are a little bit whiter than before. The process is easy to apply the teeth whitening paste over the teeth, it's just like painting by numbers. Though my mouth felt sore from keeping it open to avoid touching my teeth as I painted on the solution. The led light connected to both ios and Android devices easily with an included adapter. I did find near the end of the 10 days that the device started to become faulty with my iPhone but it was fine with my google pixel. One annoyance with the light is that I found myself salivating a lot more and it was hard to swallow with the light in my mouth. Overall I'd say it's an adequate way to get your teeth whitened and would recommend it for people with much yellower teeth than mine.

It was difficult to see whether each tooth was evenly coated and I've dried left a strange coating, but easily removed with a toothbrush. The bite tabs on the flexilight could be bigger since they were equally as tiny as they were awkwardly placed. This was tolerable though for the required 10 minutes daily. After 10 days my teeth appear to be one shade lighter, which is better than results I've previously achieved with whitening strips, however incomparable to results from dentist issued bleach in custom trays. My teeth were not very heavily stained to start with and for only 10 minutes daily I therefore found this product sufficiently whitened to a level I found satisfactory.

I found it hard to get my teeth entirely dry in order to apply the hydrogen peroxide serum - this would be better done in a dentist's chair where they have the saliva vacuum and also the air blower on your teeth to keep them dry! I don't think I managed to get a very good application of the serum on my teeth due to my saliva, but the whitening effect did seem to have a slight impact. The kit concept is a good one, but it is a bit fiddly to use.

I found it very difficult to find 15 minutes twice a day for 10 days in a row to dedicate to the task of whitening my teeth. By the time you brush your teeth, dry them, apply the liquid, put the LED light in your mouth for 10 minutes and brush your teeth again afterwards, this is at least 15 minutes. I also found that simply brushing my teeth afterwards didn't remove the product, I had white crusty stuff still stuck to my teeth that I had to use something hard, like a toothpick, to scrape off, so I didn't have bits falling off throughout the day. I also found the product made my teeth super sensitive to cold and sweet foods, and it also burnt the skin on my lip if I accidentally got it on my lips whilst applying. It'a a good concept, just not easy to use, and time consuming.

But, the results were average and the useability was terrible. My jaw would cramp up every time I used it because the mouth piece isn’t comfortable or designed well to comfortably stay in your mouth without needing to hold it in place with your side/back teeth. The whitening results didn’t last very long compared to other at home whitening kits. I did love that it came with a cover/case to put the mouth piece in.

I have used other teeth whitening products in the past which showed great results and visibly you could see my teeth were whiter.

While the paste itself was a bit difficult to see when applying (why don't they make it pink/purple instead of white/clear?), I did notice that my teeth looked noticeably brighter after just a few uses. One of the things I appreciated about this product was how easy it was to incorporate into my daily routine. 10 minutes before bed is pretty easy to do. While the results weren't quite as dramatic as I had hoped, I did notice a significant improvement in the overall colour of my teeth. It's pretty easy to use (once you work out the teeth guard thing is in a case and needs to be removed before putting it in your mouth - maybe I'm a dunce!) and worth giving a try if you're looking for a simple, affordable way to brighten up your smile.

For the 1st 5 days I didn't see much difference as I was just using the gel with the light and then removing the gel. The 2nd 5 days I left the gel on overnight after the light session and finally saw some results. My teeth are a little whiter, but I would have expected a bigger difference for the time spent trying the product. I found applying the gel and letting it dry a little tricky and a lip retainer may be a useful addition to this set. The light was easy to use and worked seamlessly with my phone. I didn't experience any sensitivity to the gel. I think this set might work well if your teeth are more stained to start with - just don't expect anything too glamorous.

I have used this products for 10 now and unfortunately have not seen a significant difference to the colour of my teeth in terms of the whitening effects, however, I have seen a change in the brightening effects. With the claims made on the packaging, I did have a higher expectation. There was minor sensitivity that was experienced, but a sensitive mouth wash and toothpaste assisted with this side effect. The application of the product was very user friendly and I did enjoy using the LED device with the convenience of my phone. The adaptor to use with my i-phone was very helpful. 10 minutes a day is fine for a brigther smile, however, I wouldn't recommend this product to those looking for a whiter smile.

It’s so easy to use, doesn’t need batteries and worked perfectly with my iPhone. The mouthpiece fit well and did not rub on my gums like ones I’ve tried in the past. However, the whitening pen provided with the device was average at best. I could never get a consistent amount of product out and it dried on my teeth in patches. The residue left behind after the 10 minutes was not pleasant at all and I had to scrub with a towel to get it off as brushing my teeth didn’t do it. The inconsistent release of product from the pen means my teeth now have whitened patches and then the old coloured patches and looks silly.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Didn’t whiten teeth [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Colgate Optic White did nothing for my teeth. I followed the instructions for 10 days and my teeth didn’t whiten. I don’t recommend this product and I will not purchase it in the near future.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not for me [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This did not work for me . I don’t recommend it. I used it for 10 nights straight. What I liked most about this is it was simple to use . Maybe not using your phone would be an improvement.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Messy and inconvenient [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm sure it's good, if you can persist, but I personally couldn't. The liquid becomes a glue like paste that then peels, is sticky and feels quite unpleasant. Having to brush your teeth first, then try to dry and keep dry your teeth before applying the gel, then having to hold the device in your mouth for ten minutes, then brush your teeth again, makes this product uncomfortable, messy and time consuming. I would not use this product again, especially when there are much simpler to use products out there.
