Directions

After shampooing with PROfiller+ Thickening Shampoo, smooth conditioner throughout wet hair on the mid-lengths to ends, then rinse well. Use with the PROfiller+ Thickening Spray to achieve full results.

Out of the two I liked the conditioner the most, I liked the look of my hair afterward, it had a bit more body and looked OK enough to be able to leave the house just with air drying my hair and no hairdryer to run some quick errands. The conditioner was a bit too drying for me, I think using this paired with a hydration mask might help. I liked that the conditioner wasn't heavy and does deliver slight volume. Scent was nice and clean, packaging was robust and easy to get product out.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Definitely Thickening [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As part of the thickening set of shampoo and conditioner, this conditioner definitely appeared to help with the thickening process. It smells lovely but washes away to not be overpowering afterwards which I like so it doesn’t interfere with my perfume or be the only scent people can smell on me. It felt good to apply and I’ve always loved John Frieda conditioners for how nice they apply. And their conditioners have always worked very well. I felt my hair was very soft and silky after rinsing this conditioner out but sadly upon drying my hair it was coarse, brittle and dull and it only got worse from there as after a few uses I noticed quite a substantial amount of my hair was snapping off from breakage. I then tried using the products without using a hairdryer but the result was always the same. My hair 100% looked much thicker and voluminous but I couldn’t ignore the shocking breakage concentrated around my hair line but also in my hair. As someone who suffers from thin hair and hair loss this has been very upsetting and shocking so I won’t be continuing with this product. I think if you have fine but strong hair this product will be perfect for you. I was very excited about this John Frieda profiller range and am so sad it didn’t work well for me. It also made my hair very dull with no shine at all which I really didn’t like as it didn’t look like healthy hair.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Smells Nice [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I suggest having a bit of water left in your hair before applying the conditioner. It is best to apply the conditioner towards the roots, avoiding your scalp. I felt that whenever I accidentally placed the conditioner on my scalp during wash day, my hair tended to get oiler earlier in comparison to just putting the conditioner at the ends. Leaving in the conditioner helps with the effect however I feel like the conditioner is not hydrating enough for my bleached hair. Using a shower comb will help distribute the product evenly onto your hair.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It thickens - sort of [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The bottle is easy to use and easy to open in the shower (you'd be surprised at how many are difficult to open with wet hands). The smell is strong, not unpleasant or pleasant, just really unexpected. I got used to it but I would rather it was less "scented". So, after using the shampoo, I did feel like my hair was thicker, but not sure if it was in a good way. I was hoping that the conditioner would actually tame the thickened hair but the whole of my hair felt less manageable. I could barely get my comb through and felt more tangled. I mean, the shampoo and conditioner sort of thickens my hair but in a way that feels more tangled rather than giving it more volume.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Left My Hair Knotty [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was lucky to be on the trial team for John Frieda PROfiller+ Thickening Shampoo, Conditioner & Spray. Using these three products together for the fortnight's duration of this trial has only given me a modest boost in volume. This thick white conditioner has a strong but pleasant perfume. It was my least favourite product in this range as it left my hair very knotty. I progressively increased the quantity with each use but still experienced difficulty detangling my past waist-length hair. The range is supposed to increase the look & feel of hair, & to strengthen it to prevent breakage. PROfiller+ makes no claims of stimulating new growth. I suffer from excessive hair shedding due to thyroid disease, & at 57, surely ageing contributes to my thinner hair. I don't experience a lot of hair breakage. WOULD I PURCHASE? No, I disliked the knottiness. Made in Germany.
