General Information

Swisse BHA 2% Clear Skin A.M. Balance Serum has been co-developed with a dermatologist to improve skin texture and clarity, and prevent breakouts, thanks to an optimal combination of salicylic and mandelic acid. Hyaluronic acid is also included to provide hydration benefits. Lightweight and fast-absorbing, ongoing use of this serum reveals a smooth and clear complexion. Developed to be part of your morning beauty routine, it is suitable for everyday use and all skin types, including acne prone.

I only need a little bit of the serum to cover my face, so I imagine the bottle will last a long time. The scent is strong but definitely not overwhelming or unpleasant and it does dissipate after it dries. I made sure this had dried into my skin before applying anything else to prevent any issues and that seemed to work, I had no problem wearing this under my make up. I have only been using this for a week or so but I feel like my skin is looking brighter and well hydrated. Hopefully it keeps any break outs at bay!

One pump is sufficient for whole face, it gets absorb into skin easily. It’s quite mild in my skin, not irritating at all. My face feel smoother after using this. Not drying at all. I made sure to apply sun screen after moisturiser, after some time, when touching the face, my sunscreen came off. Not sure if it’s because of this.

When opening the box, I was a bit confused about why the box was bigger than the product and they had to section it off. When reading the instructions for the product, I like that it clearly states how much to use. This product felt nice on the skin and gave an immediate hydrating feel and smoothness to my skin. I enjoyed using this product, however I think I would need to use it for a longer period to see long-term benefits, but the initial feel was nice and I will continue using as part of my daily routine.

I have sensitive, acne prone skin with lots of scaring and usually serums make my face feel uncomfortable, tingly and sticky but this one glides on and feels nice after applying. It definitely makes my skin texture smoother and while it didn’t prevent breakouts for me it helped soothe them and pimples went away faster than usual. My only drawback was the strong smell of alcohol. Not the nicest thing to smell first thing in the morning.

With two toddlers and a hectic work schedule, I get random breakouts all the time. After trying the product for a couple of weeks, I’ve noticed a huge difference in the texture of my skin – it’s much smoother and feels less congested in general – a much-welcomed deterrent for acne. Further, it’s lightweight enough to layer it under SPF, moisturizer, and/or makeup without making you feel too ick. I enjoyed using this product and would recommend it for everyday use. I have been using it consistently for 2 weeks and I can see minor results already. My skin has been feeling more hydrated and as a person who struggles from bad acne, it helped with that too. It minimised my pores and black/white heads by a little bit. This product is good and layers in well with my others, it also soaks into your skin well and leaves a slight glow. However I will probably stop using this product after a month because I prefer my other serums and such. Although this is a good and basic serum for people who struggle with acne. I was shocked at how quickly it absorbs into my skin and felt the effects instantly. My skin felt more hydrated, it was easy to add to my current skin care routine and my skin instantly felt smoother. The only downside was the scent - it is a little too much. The scent, though beautiful smelling, at first I wasn’t a fan of something that strong on my face. However, I can get past that due to how amazing everything else was. I will be purchasing again! Breakouts, inflamed pores and the continuous feeling of being oily. I've been trying Swisse BHA 2% for a few weeks now and it has been a saviour to my skincare routine. My face feels softer and smoother, though I've still had a few spot breakouts from the heat & sweat they aren't inflamed, are much smaller than I've ever had them before and have disappeared within a day or two. My skin feels hydrated without being oily and my overall skin appearance has really improved. Im looking forward to the continued benefits of using Swisse BHA 2%.

It helps to keep my skin balanced, it feels hydrated without excessive oils. It doesn't overly dry my skin out and just soaks into my skin without feeling sticky or heavy. Since using this I haven't had any new active pimples which is great. I wouldn't say it's just the serum as it would also come down to my hormones as well but this has definitely helped to keep my acne at bay. When I started using this I notice the pimples stopped popping out in my face… I felt it kind of balanced things and finally my skin looks more “stable” without a new pimple every day. i gave it 4 out of 5 because I haven’t use it long enough to notice further improvements. I have tried multiple acids and chemical exfoliants, and I normally have pretty sensitive skin that tends to react with redness and flaking which means I usually discontinue use, however, I have not reacted at all to this product which is exactly what I'm looking for. I haven't really noticed a difference yet in my acne or scarring, but I'm hopeful with consistency that I will see results.

I decided to start in the morning as I didn’t want to introduce a new product roughly to my skin as my skin is super sensitive and difficult. I am 30 and suffer from acne due to pcos. Sometimes is ok however my skin often breaks out due to hormones. At the beginning this product caused more breakouts like with more pimples on chin, and face but after it looks my skin cleared up and got better. It seems also has reduced the pores size which is pretty amazing. I find it a bit dry on the skin so always use moisture after applying the product. Overall I like it and I want to use for longer and see how my skin is improved.

I was very excited to try this product as my skin has been feeling bit dull and not glowly coming out of this Melbourne winter months (did winter ever stop here?). I applied the serum night time only as I found that I didn’t get much time for the serum in my skincare routine during the day before work. I feel like the product has slightly improve my skin conditions, but will need to keep using the product more consistently. Overall, itself an okay product.

Other products in this category have been more effective for me. However, in saying that, this product at this price point is effective. It made my skin visibly smoother and added some hydration without making my skin oily. I wouldn't use this as part of a daily skin routine, and would only use it for some spots I already had, as it seems a bit too strong for daily application. Unfortunately daily use when trialling the product led to some of my skin becoming flaky and peeling off. I also was waiting to experience the "enlarged pore reduction" property of the product, to no avail.

The first time I used this I found that it was easy to apply on the skin and rather hydrating. I followed the instructions and applied moisturiser before my usual sunscreen with a high SPF rating before my make up. At the end of the day, I was upset to see that I had many more freckles than usual after a day’s use despite not staying out too much in the sun. After this I stopped using the product so I cannot say much about its skin clearing results. I would recommend a very high or zinc like SPF to protect against sun damage.
