General Information

Swisse Skincare Salicylic Acid Daily Balance Cleansing Gel is a low-foaming, non-stripping cleanser that helps to gently remove impurities, makeup, and excess sebum. Co-developed with a dermatologist, it is scientifically formulated with salicylic acid and zinc sulfate to reduce the appearance of blackheads, refine pores, and keep acne under control. Skin is left feeling clean and refreshed. Suitable for everyday use and all skin types, including acne prone.

What I appreciate most is that it doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry, a common issue with many cleansing gels. Instead, my skin feels balanced and hydrated after use. Although it was not 100% effective at removing my waterproof makeup on its own, combined with my makeup remover it worked fine. My skin felt very clean and refreshed after use. The product has a slight fragrance to it which was refreshing and smelt like cucumbers. However, this might be a negative if you wish for something that is fragrance free

It helped clear the excess sebum from my pores without stripping my skin and is gentle enough for everyday use. My skin felt refreshed afterwards and it would a great cleanser to add to your double cleansing routine. In addition to the 2% Salicylic acid, the Zinc Sulfate also helped keep my oily skin at bay so definitely recommend if you're after an affordable but effective cleanser for combo skin.

It would leave my skin feeling very refreshed, I have also seen a big difference in my blackheads. The product does live up to what it claims to achieve. It doesn't dry out my skin, but makes my skin feel cleansed and free of impurities. I also love using products with salicylic acid, knowing they're doing the work to keep my pores unclogged and reducing the amount of blemishes and breakouts I have. This cleanser isn't super foamy, which I like. I'd recommend this for someone with oily, breakout prone skin.

Swisse ticks all those boxes! This gel cleanser comes in a massive 200ml bottle and a little goes a long way, it gives a good lather but never makes you skin feel dry or squeaky. I would actually highly recommend this for any teens or adults suffering from mild acne as your going to get a good clean without destroying your skin barrier. Perfect morning refresh before my skincare routine!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Feeling Fresh [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using this cleanser for about 4 weeks now and i was sceptical at first with the fact it had salicylic acid in it as an ingredient as i find that it drys my skin out sometimes and can irritate my face but I haven’t found that with this cleanser, it feels so fresh on the face and smells great and I have found it cleans my make up off so well after a long day of makeup wearing and also sunscreen, directly after cleansing I don’t feel as if it has stripped the surface at all it feels clean without feeling dry. My skin has also had less breakouts as well and any breakouts I do have seem to clear up quicker, I’ll defiantly keep using this cleanser and hopefully my break outs will become less and less as time goes on. Would recommend to a friend with acne prone skin or even combination skin.

I didn't notice any dryness or irritation after using the product and found the gel-like consistency easy to use. If anything, I feel it could have been a little stronger as an exfoliator, but it still does a great job and is ideal for sensitive skin in particular. It does have a strong scent which isn't bad but seemed unnecessary. I would definitely recommend this for the body, but it's possible that the fragrance may irritate the skin on the face, so just be weary if you're planning on using this as a facial cleanser.

The salicylic acid is great for blemishes and doesn’t make my skin to sensitive unless I leave the product on for to long before washing my face is can create some redness. I tried removing makeup but didn’t do great with that but makes for a refreshing morning cleanse. I left it on while I brushed and noted it didn’t leave my skin stripped at all. Gentle on my skin, improved under the skin congestion, I think over time it’ll help my whiteheads and blackheads too. This product was gifted to me for my review.

However, I prefer a more heavy duty cleanser for if I had a long day at work and feel a lot of grease on my face. Otherwise, this is great also to use with a double cleansing regime with like an oil based cleanser. The fragrance can be a little strong however I was pleased to find that this did not affect my sensitive skin adversely at all. I think this cleanser is actually quite refreshing to use and it gives me a good clean.

I like that it is low to no foaming, doesn’t strip my skin and keeps it clean without drying it out. This product has a nice, refreshing smell that makes cleansing feel like a spa day. I used the cleanser twice daily and followed with the Ceramide B3 moisturiser. I recommend this cleansing gel if you’re looking for gentle exfoliation that is effective.
