General Information

Swisse Skincare Salicylic Acid Daily Balance Cleansing Gel is a low-foaming, non-stripping cleanser that helps to gently remove impurities, makeup, and excess sebum. Co-developed with a dermatologist, it is scientifically formulated with salicylic acid and zinc sulfate to reduce the appearance of blackheads, refine pores, and keep acne under control. Skin is left feeling clean and refreshed. Suitable for everyday use and all skin types, including acne prone.

Directions

It doesn't dry out my skin, but makes my skin feel cleansed and free of impurities. I also love using products with salicylic acid, knowing they're doing the work to keep my pores unclogged and reducing the amount of blemishes and breakouts I have. This cleanser isn't super foamy, which I like. I'd recommend this for someone with oily, breakout prone skin.

Swisse ticks all those boxes! This gel cleanser comes in a massive 200ml bottle and a little goes a long way, it gives a good lather but never makes you skin feel dry or squeaky. I would actually highly recommend this for any teens or adults suffering from mild acne as your going to get a good clean without destroying your skin barrier. Perfect morning refresh before my skincare routine!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Feeling Fresh [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using this cleanser for about 4 weeks now and i was sceptical at first with the fact it had salicylic acid in it as an ingredient as i find that it drys my skin out sometimes and can irritate my face but I haven’t found that with this cleanser, it feels so fresh on the face and smells great and I have found it cleans my make up off so well after a long day of makeup wearing and also sunscreen, directly after cleansing I don’t feel as if it has stripped the surface at all it feels clean without feeling dry. My skin has also had less breakouts as well and any breakouts I do have seem to clear up quicker, I’ll defiantly keep using this cleanser and hopefully my break outs will become less and less as time goes on. Would recommend to a friend with acne prone skin or even combination skin.

I didn't notice any dryness or irritation after using the product and found the gel-like consistency easy to use. If anything, I feel it could have been a little stronger as an exfoliator, but it still does a great job and is ideal for sensitive skin in particular. It does have a strong scent which isn't bad but seemed unnecessary. I would definitely recommend this for the body, but it's possible that the fragrance may irritate the skin on the face, so just be weary if you're planning on using this as a facial cleanser.

The salicylic acid is great for blemishes and doesn’t make my skin to sensitive unless I leave the product on for to long before washing my face is can create some redness. The packaging is nice and a good size bottle for the price. Will use this product again.

I tried removing makeup but didn’t do great with that but makes for a refreshing morning cleanse. I left it on while I brushed and noted it didn’t leave my skin stripped at all. Gentle on my skin, improved under the skin congestion, I think over time it’ll help my whiteheads and blackheads too. This product was gifted to me for my review.

However, I prefer a more heavy duty cleanser for if I had a long day at work and feel a lot of grease on my face. Otherwise, this is great also to use with a double cleansing regime with like an oil based cleanser. The fragrance can be a little strong however I was pleased to find that this did not affect my sensitive skin adversely at all. I think this cleanser is actually quite refreshing to use and it gives me a good clean.

The gel is a pale green in colour and lightly scented. I tend to have an oily t-zone so focussed using the cleanser on this area. I found that my skin was less oily while using this cleanser. It wasn't too drying to my skin.

Looks great in my bathroom. Also like how it had a plastic shower to prevent the product being accidentally pumps. Upon opening, the fragrance was not quite my preference, I prefer a product with less fragrance as sometimes this can cause issues with sensitivity. The amount pumped with one push was not quite adequate for me so I used two pumps. I love that it was a pump bottle and not a screw top or squeeze bottle. Very handy to use. On application it cleaned my skin without stripping it of moisture. No breakouts were experienced while I was using this product.

I've already noticed I have smaller pores and it has diminished the appearance of my adult acne as well. The salicylic acid and zinc sulfate have been very effective in giving my skin these results, and it also made me look a bit younger and left my skin feeling smoother. A really good and affordable cleanser that I'll definitely purchase again! Ideal to use morning and night.

I find Swisse to be one of the best drug store skin care products on the market. The Salicylic Acid cleansing gel effectively cleaned my skin and easily washed away all my makeup! I found it easy to use and a little goes a long way. I didn't find it drying and it left my skin looking and feeling fresh and smooth! I definitely noticed a difference on my skin using it for 2 weeks every morning and night. I get a few breakouts occasionally and this product kept my skin blemishes free which was the best feature!

Most importantly, less pimples and blemishes. Skin feels clean without dryness. My skin pores are less visible than before. I need very small amount to clean whole face throughly. Smells pleasant and doesn't maKe foam like soap. Skin is so fresh after every use and last full day without getting oily. I will definately reccommend to my friends.

The gel has a light and fresh fragrance and feels very gentle on the skin. It doesn't really foam but I use it twice when it comes to cleansing my face day and night and have not experienced any tightness. I love that it claims to remove impurities, make-up and balances sebum levels. My skin as of late has experienced a few pimples so knowing this gel helps to combat that helps too. My face feels cleaned and refreshed after using it. Overall, I haven't really noticed any significant changes to my skin since using this and feel it's a good product but likely not to pay good money for it when there are other cleansers on the market that do the same job of cleaning the face.

It doesn’t feel like a usual cleanser and doesn’t foam up, but it leaves my skin feeling hydrated and clean, without feeling stripped. The only downside would be the scent, it’s not too pleasant but thankfully doesn’t stick around once you wash it off.

It gave me a decent clean without stripping my skin or leaving me feeling dry. I often get irritated by gel cleansers and this one was quite kind to my skin. Although it does a good job at cleansing I really found the scent of this product quite strong and off putting - it literally smells like windex or some cleaning product. If it weren't for the smell, I think I would have enjoyed this product a lot more. Despite disliking the fragrance, it didn't irritate my skin.
