I have dry/combination skin that can be a little sensitive to acne treatments which can sometimes dry out my skin, but I have had no problems with this cream. I use it focusing on my forehead, chin and nose and I am definitely noticing a difference in my skin, especially with my blackheads around my nose area which I have a little trouble with. I love that it helps clear up my acne and blackheads without drying my skin out and I have also found it works well under my everyday tinted serum and my foundation. Like I find with most La Roche Posay products, a little goes a long way which is always an extra bonus to an already affordable product. I will definitely be purchasing this cream after trialing it with beautyheaven, and would highly recommend it for acne and blackhead treatment, especially for people with dry skin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightens my old acne scars and prevent new ones [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is fantastic for those who have acne prone skin like me. I’ve had issues with preventing acne during the summer and this has really helped, best of all it sits nicely under sunscreen and makeup. It has also helped with fading my existing acne scars which usually take forever to fade on their own. Surprisingly, this product has also helped with clearing up blackheads and sebaceous filaments on my nose, so my nose pores now look much smaller. Highly recommend for anyone who needs a multitasker!

I usually experience a bit of hormonal acne around my jawline and cheeks and this has made a significant difference in clearing it up while I have been using the product. The cream has a nice light weight texture and is moisturising enough to use without an additional moisturiser. I have been using this in the morning only after washing my face and before applying sunscreen. I use a retinol at night and prefer not to apply too many products at the same time as this. But I think applying this cream in the morning only was sufficient to see results. I have already recommended the cream to some friends and will continue to do so.

The first thing I noticed was the ingredients listing which showed some great skin ingredients such as niaciamide and salicylic acid. I also liked the texture and consistency. I found it worked quite well on my skin and helped control my oil and also helped to slowly reduce my acne marks. I’m sure with continued use, they will continue to be reduced as well. It didn’t irritate my skin either which is a big plus. Overall I’d recommend to others.

Sits beautifully on the skin both alone and under makeup. Keep in mind that a little goes a long way so by right the product tube should last a while. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Visibly reduces acne & dark marks! Hormones are shifting and my skin shows it. My regular skincare was not doing my face any favours so I switched to the Effaclar Gel cleanser and the Duo +M moisturizer. What a difference! My skin is no longer oily, my pimples are almost gone and my skin feels better. After using about a pea size of the moisturizer my skin feels dry though. Might need additional hydration at night, during the day I apply the Anthelios XL sunscreen and a tiny amount of BB cream. What can you suggest for combination skin?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A more moisturising formula, overall no breakouts! I had used the original Effaclar duo+ for over 2 years before this new formula was introduced. It healed a lot of my teenage cystic acne and became a staple. So naturally I was a bit nervous with the effects of the new formula. Unlike many other reviews, my sensitive acne prone skin did not break out!!! In fact, I found this formula much more soothing. Unlike the previous formula, my skin was dried out slightly afterwards and I had to replenish it with a thin layer of Cicaplast. This, however, did not have the same sensation and my skin felt hydrated and overall, I do feel like it’s a more hydrating and gentle formula. I do not see a big change in my skin if I were to be honest, but I have relatively clear skin and I’m happy with the way my skin is feeling. Not too dry or oily, just right. Nonetheless, this formula may be different for everyone. But I made sure everything remained constant in my routine when trying this new formula. Washed pillow cases, sanitized phone cover, scheduled my skincare routines around 12 hours apart.

My favourite thing about this product is that it reduces blemishes and deeply hydrates skin. I can feel my skin feels more moisturised and hydrated. For the price, I highly recommend giving it a try if you have blemish. I have oily skin so I am always on the lookout for light-weight moisturiser. I can confirm this product is lightweight, gel-cream texture. I like how it spreads evenly on my skin and because it is so lightweight, it absorbs quickly without feeling sticky or oily.

I noticed no difference, my acne, blackheads and post-acne were just as bad as before using the product. However, after I’d started using this moisturiser with the Effaclar face wash and the daily peeling serum I noticed a difference. My skin was less red and inflamed and my skin felt a lot softer and smoother. This product makes for a nice, hydrating moisturiser by itself. But when used with the other products it works to help stop acne. I would recommend this product if you’re going to use the other Effaclar products from Laroche Posay as well.

After only a couple of weeks there has been a noticeable difference in my skin, the texture of my skin appears smoother and my skin tone is a lot more even than it was! It has a lightweight formula so doesn’t feel like you have anything on your skin as well. Great product for anyone that suffers with acne / bumpy skin. Would also be great for teens as well! If you like skincare products with fragrance, then you should be fine. It has a lotion consistency that is lightly moisturising. You don’t need to apply a lot because it spreads easily. It absorbed well into my skin, though I could still feel the product after application. I like the tube packaging, it is easy to control how much product you dispense, so you won’t waste product. The packaging is clean and simple. It is a 40ml tube that won’t take up too much space. The screw top lid attaches securely, it won’t expose the product to air. My tube has a use by date of over 2 years, May 2026 being the shelf life. Once opened you have 12 months to use it. It’s RRP is $37.95, but I expect it will go on sale at stores such as Chemist Warehouse and Priceline. I applied the product to targeted spots due to my skin sensitivity, to ascertain if my skin could handle it. When I used it at night under moisturiser, I found the fragrance still too intense, however I am very sensitive to fragrance and my skin is extremely sensitive, so I couldn’t handle the fragrance. It has a bunch of good ingredients in it including salicylic acid, niacinamide and La Roche-Posay thermal spring water. If they made a fragrance-free version, I think I’d really like it.

Its dual-action formula combines effective hydration with targeted blemish control, making it a versatile choice for those with oily or acne-prone skin. The lightweight texture absorbs quickly, leaving the skin feeling nourished without greasiness. The inclusion of niacinamide and salicylic acid helps to address imperfections and control excess oil production, promoting a clearer complexion over time. The product is a great correcting product and goes on and dries a bit like primer. Although I found the moisturisering aspect lacking. As it wasn't as hydrating as I would have liked, I was still required to apply moisturiser after application. Overall I would recommend for acne prone and oily skin.

To be honest i only use this as a spot treatment when i get acne spots rather than all over my face. I do get deeper spots (little cysts that either have to be treated as soon as i feel them or let them come up and burst ) and surface small spots and found it worked better of smaller ones or new deeper ones. I liked the new formula and found it compared well with the older one and my skin.

It applies easily, and you don't need much of the product as it goes far. It is smooth on your skin and dries without a film or any greasiness. It has a soft floral scent (jasmine maybe?). Including this cream as part of my routine was super simple and it worked well when layered with other skincare items like sunscreen. I felt like it helped with my blemishes, however, it certainly didn't eradicate them immediately. I feel like didn't prevent spots from occurring, but it slowly helped to remove marks from old acne scars. This will be a new tool in my kit to help clear my skin.

In combination with the rest of my skincare routine, I found Effaclar Duo + M an effective treatment for minor blemishes, particularly in the high Australian summer when every moisturiser feels too rich and sticky in this heat! It saved the moisturising step for me, but I definitely noticed some dry skin while using this product, as expected. Sometimes I needed an additional moisturiser while using, when I noticed I felt extra dry. I would repurchase and keep this incorporated into my anti acne routine!

I have absolutely loved using this product, it has cleared up my skin dramatically and kept it feeling plump and moisturised while doing so. The texture of the product is creamy not greasy which I really like, also has a pleasant smell not overpowering at all. This product also goes a long way so you don't need to use alot which is also great. I have seen such an improvement in my blemished and oil control I will absolutely be buying this product again.

Thank you beautyheaven and La roche posay for sending this for me to try. The packaging is simple and effective at dispensing the product. The moisturiser itself is thick but spreads easily and dries down quickly. It is supposed to be used morning and night but due to the absence of SPF it needs to be layered with SPF which is a bit of a hassle if you are time poor like me. The one thing I did not like is that the product does pile when it dries down so not sure how suitable it is to be worn under makeup. I feel like my skin has slightly improved in terms of texture and spots but definetly too soon to say for sure. Looks promising and overall a lovely product to use.

Some of these products are my absolute ride or die so I was super excited to trial the brand new and innovative Effaclar Duo+M. This particular formular is deigned as an anti-imperfections moisturiser that predominantly focuses on reducing the appearance of blackheads. The lotion is very similar to the other Effaclar duo products that I have tried in the past. It is light weight, absorbs into the skin quite quickly and does not leave any sort of residue on the skin. It has a light cooling effect to it and, one of the most important things to me, it doesn’t irritate the skin after any form of exfoliation or hair removal. It feels very nice on the skin and I am very happy to use it both morning and night. In regards to my results, I’ve been using it for a few weeks and although I don’t think I’ve notice too much in regards to blackheads, I do feel like my skin is clearer and more even. I’m very happy with the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+M and will continue to use and monitor results.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for daily wear or on long days [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really loved this product, it was super light weight texture and feel so even after having it on and wearing makeup on top it didn't have a heavy feel to it and as someone who has oily skin it didn't make my skin feel clogged up. It was very easy to apply and spread well, the tube was also very convenient and to avoid over squeezing and product wastage. The only draw back of the actual cream was that it left my face looking shiny which is normal for my skin normally as I usually have oily skin, but this was more than normal, so for anyone with oily skin I would recommend using a mattifying setting powder on top. I don't have blackheads, only mild blemishes and post-acne scarring and while the product targets these concerns I haven't really noticed any difference so far. I would re-purchase this product primarily for the texture and feel on my skin since this is the only LRP product that hasn't "pilled" on my skin and was a good moisturiser, but if you are looking for fast-acting blemish targeting or acne-scar reducing products then this may require more longer term use to notice visible differences.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love it! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have terrible acne and scarring which have turned into dark spots all over my face. This product really helped calm and prevent my acne. I have used this for a month now (day and night) and my dark spots have lightened up a bit. I love that it is like a two in one product. Instead of piling loads of different serums on and then a moisturiser, you get the benefits of improving imperfections in a nice moisturiser. There is a faint smell but nothing overpowering, it is quite nice actually. Another thing I like about it is the consistency. It's lightweight and absorbs into the skin nicely. No tacky or thick feeling at all. It can be worn underneath makeup. I would recommend this product if you struggle with acne and have scarring definitely.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Future cult status pending [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've never met a La Roche Posay product I haven't met so I was excited to try this. The Effaclar Duo + M Moisturiser promises to reduce blackheads, pimples and acne scarring. I didn't notice a difference with my scarring. However, I noticed a visible difference in my congestion and a physical difference in my skin texture which felt smoother and more refined after a month. The first week however was rough on my skin, causing severe irritation and flaking. Once I stopped using actives my skin calmed down so definitely recommend using this as part of a simple routine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for spota [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this item before they reformulated and changed it to add the microbiome base. I liked the new formula too. I used it as mainly a spot or area treatment not as an all over fave product and liked how it worked on my spots. It took a while on certain types of spots but others it helped ore quickly. Like my smaller one it helped over time nicely whereas my deeper cystic acne caused by hormones was not fast enough for me personally so I found myself reaching for something else at night and using this durng the day.

Lately I've been going through menopause and have been struggling a lot with acne but this has helped me by miles. My skin has finally cleared up and I'm not self concious about my skin any more. It is a very smooth serum which glides across the skin. I would recommend this product to almost anyone. Especially if you are currently struggling with your self esteem. I love the smell of this product too. It doesn't have a super chemically smell and is quite pleasant in the nose. Overall quite impressed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A new tool in the kit [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used this product for a few weeks after having had several blemishes. It applies easily, and you don't need much of the product as it goes far. It is smooth on your skin and dries without a film or any greasiness. It has a soft floral scent (jasmine maybe?). Including this cream as part of my routine was super simple and it worked well when layered with other skincare items like sunscreen. I felt like it helped with my blemishes, however, it certainly didn't eradicate them immediately. I feel like didn't prevent spots from occurring, but it slowly helped to remove marks from old acne scars. This will be a new tool in my kit to help clear my skin.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent moisturiser for oily skin [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product comes housed in a slim squeeze tube and narrow tip which enables precise dispensing. Texture wise, it is a gel-creme which is a bit thick and requires some warming to spread with no detectable scent. I found that I needed to use a fair amount of product to fully cover my face. I used this day and night for 3 weeks in conjunction with my usual serums and sunscreen and found a slight reduction in oiliness, however sometimes I felt the need to layer an additional moisturiser layer on top as this product was a bit too drying for my skin. This does not interfere with make-up and I was able to get through the day without pilling, excessive oilyness or dry/irritated skin (with occasional moisturiser layer on top if needed). There is an initial purging process whilst using this, suggesting the product was doing its job, so would recommend factoring adjustment time when introducing this product into a regimen. For oily/combo, this product may not be moisturising enough however this may suit those with very oily and/or blemish prone skin. For my skin type, it was occasionally not moisturising enough, however I felt that the product mixed well with my usual products and did not cause irritation or discomfort. I generally enjoy using LRP products, however on this occasion this product although it performed well, did not suit my skin type. If the product was a little more moisturising and easy to speead, it would receive a 4 star rating :)
