Rated 3 out of 5 by from Black Heads Gone - Blemishes & Marks, Not So Much [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+M product around four weeks ago. I have found it has reduced blackheads, but not blemishes and post-acne marks as advertised. My routine is as follows: In the morning, I wash my face with warm water during my shower (no cleanser). I dab my face dry with a clean towel and wipe my face with Bioderma Sensibo Micellar water using a cotton pad. I then mix a pea-sized amount of La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+M with my daily Natio SPF moisturiser. I then apply a mineral BB cream (instead of a foundation). Throughout the day, my skin still feels quite greasy and much the same as it always has. I will often come home from work to find new acne. In this way, the moisturiser is no miracle worker. It must be remembered, however, that it does not claim to help emerging acne. At night, I cleanse with the CeraVe Hydrating cleanser and then apply La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+M mixed with Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion. I have found this product to achieve one third of what it advertised. I was hoping it would be a lifesaver for my acne marks, but have been severely disappointed. I have had a major reduction in blackheads, but this was not my concern. I would recommend this moisturizer to someone who was looking to reduce blackheads, not blemishes or marks. After testing this product for four weeks, I have deemed it not worth the trouble. The moisturizer stings when applying after cleansing and it dries the skin slightly. Definitely not a product for those with sensitive skin.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this Effaclar Duo + M moisturiser as part of a trial, and was super excited as I have always been a big fan of La Roche Posay and felt like this product targeted to my exact skin concerns. The packaging is in line with the brand, simplistic but practical. It comes in a squeeze tube with a small nozzle which is easy to use and control. The moisturiser itself is somewhere between a cream and a gel, and glides onto the skin beautifully. It absorbs in quickly and leaves no residue. It has a slight citrus scent, and fragrance is an ingredient so if you are sensitive to those be mindful. I typically try to avoid any perfumed products but haven't noticed any significant irritation so far - I will update if this changes. In regards to performance it does appear to immediately hydrate the skin, and I do think it may have (very slightly) improved existing PIH I had. I regards to reducing blemishes I think I need to continue using it for a little longer before I can comment on that - so far I don't think I have noticed any significant improvement in either blemishes or pores. I will continue using this product to see what the long term results are - I do think it is a little pricey for a moisturiser at roughly $40 for 40ml, but I assume it will be easy enough to pick up on sale.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good product but not the best moisturiser [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think the product needed to be tested over a longer period of time to really assess the results- however I did find some improvement in the acne condition of my skin. I found this product easy to integrate into my current routine. As someone with combination skin, however, I did find that this product was not moisturising enough on its own. When I used this as my moisturiser I found it to be quite mattifying but slightly dry in some areas of my face. Once I started using another heavier moisturiser after, it solved the problem and I still got the benefit of this product. If you have very oily skin this would probably be a comfortable moisturiser for you.

It has sucked all of the moisture from my skin. It might be suited for more oily skin. While I do suffer from acne, it didnt help at all. But yes, not overly impressed with this product. Could be a lot better. Didn't exactly do what it promised to do and I wouldn't recommend doing it again. It might be for younger skin than what I have though, so maybe younger and less sensitive skin will fair better with this sorta thing. A shame really it isn't for me

Fragrance is very risky for so many people, particularly people with compromised skin (such as those with acne, rosacea, atopic dermatitis, damaged skin barrier, etc). It’s just not a necessary ingredient… it doesn’t benefit the skin in any way.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Be careful I bought this about two weeks ago, used it only in the mornings like it says to but this product dried my face so bad that I developed this big spot on my neck that itches bad. Overall skin became really dull and flaky, which I haven’t experienced before as my face is oily.

But after I’ve tried the new formula M+ for 2months, I have big and red close comedones acnes on my cheeks that I never had a single pimple before. I’m so disappointed, I want the old Duo+ back so bad T_T

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very bad reaction I bought the Effaclar serum and Effaclar Duo+M moisturiser for my teenage daughter experiencing breakouts in hope that these products would help with her acne. However, the first time she tried them she ended up in tears as the products stung her face really badly. I got her to try them for a second time and she ended up in tears again. It really upset her and now she would not try it anymore. I would like to know what could have caused such a bad reaction and if there is a refund policy for this. Thanks.
