General Information

Dettol Odour Eliminator Washing Machine Cleaner removes both odours and germs* to leave a lasting freshness in your machine.

A clean washing machine plays an essential part in good laundry hygiene. Dettol Washing Machine Cleaner can be used on both front and top loader machines to help stop the spread of germs through your laundry.

 

Keeping your washing machine clean as well as your clothes is just as important in the fight against unwanted germs. Use Dettol Washing Machine Cleaner every 2 months in a wash on its own to remove 99.9% of germs*, remove bad odours, limescale, dirt and leave a lasting freshness in your machine.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Needed two bottles for top loader [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product free from Dettol and Influester in exchange for my honest review. Firstly I don’t feel I can give the best feedback as the instructions said it needed two bottles for a top loader and was only sent one. It’s a shame I wasn’t sent two as my washing machine is filthy. We have filtered town water from the brown Murray river so it’s not treated and clean like normal town water from a city. So it’s hard to get clothes clean as it is and the machine has a lot of build up of dirt and grime. I think it did wash it well to an extent but was left with a dirty scum on the bottom of the tub. It definitely needed two bottles so I don’t think my review is the best to give. It did look a bit cleaner though.

Upon reading the instructions, it says to use two bottles in your washing machine but was only sent one so unsure if I will be able to achieve the results that are supposed to be achieved when using two bottles. I like that small compact packaging. The product was almost filled to the brim which is good so no access packaging. The scent was okay a little overpowering I guess because it’s concentrated and the scent reminds me of toilet cleaner. It didn’t smell great but after the washing machine was watched, I could smell a subtle scent which was okay. As for effectiveness, i’m not sure about smells as my washing machine didn’t smell to begin with but it does have a little bit of dirt remnants on the drum which is still there.It definitely smells cleaner. After a load of washing, that sent disappeared. If it is supposed to clean as well, it definitely didn’t do that. Would I buy this in the future? Probably not as my machine looks exactly the same.
