1. What is a hair cuticle?
The hair cuticle is the outermost part of the hair shaft. It's comprised of overlapping cells that resemble fish scales. It's there to protect the inner layers of your hair (like the follicle) from damage and provides shine.

My hair is usually really oily but this has really helped to lift it I only wash my hair once a week now before i would wash it at least 3 times a week. First of all it feels like salon quality, the smell is amazing and the bottle is chic. I feel like my hair feels clean and my scalp is not irritated which is something that can commonly happen to me with some shampoos and fragrances. I don’t get build up or oiliness very quickly using this shampoo either. I usually struggle with product build up and my hair becoming oily very quickly from some shampoos that can leave an almost coating on top of my hair or at the roots so I really pleasantly surprised by this. I usually gravitate towards salon products which become very expensive very quickly and sometimes wonder if there’s something else out there at a more budget friendly price thag does the same job. I would honestly recommend this shampoo to anyone who asks as I love the smell and the way it makes my hair feel.

I love that it is sulphate free and at $19.00 it’s quite the bargain as I felt it gave really good salon quality results. It smells great and lathers well leaving my hair really clean and fresh, I recommend using the matching conditioner for best results and for detangling. I love L’Oréal products, they always give such high results and this shampoo was no exception, my hair is super shiny when I use this shampoo and I have been asked what shampoo it is I use, I always get compliments. The texture was thick and rich, the scent was divine and I discovered (the hard way) that a little goes a long way. My hair is long, dry and bleached and I use a straightener so it suited my needs. While it says it suits other hair types, the 'coating' feel was definitely beneficial to my dry ends, which are overdue for a trim. I can understand why those with oily hair may not feel it deep cleans. Mine did need two washes but I do that anyway so this was no problem. It rinsed out nicely and didn't have that 'stripped' feel after some shampoos. I'd suggest applying sparsely - at this price point and for those who wash twice, it would go fast, But the smooth feel once hair was dried mean I would purchase it. My only other feedback - which applies to most product manufacturers, especially beauty products - is to please increase the point size on the instructions as they're one of the most important elements of the packaging and tricky to read, for older (40s!) types like myself. But overall, I did enjoy and do rate this product.

I do like to shampoo twice and feel like it didnt clean my hair properly after one. After use i did notice a slight difference with my frizz but after continued use there was no difference to the overall condition of my hair. It is an okay shampoo and does a decent job but for the price you can definitely get better if you are budget shopping but if you can afford it i would definitely say give it a go as it does smell really good.

The product comes in stylish and pretty packaging which looks great in my bathroom. The packaging size is smaller than I expected, I prefer a larger size. The shampoo easily came out of the container. It lathered beautifully and was easy to rinse out and there was no remaining residue. My hair felt very clean after using this shampoo. Usually I like to do two shampoos but it felt great after just one. The scent is just beautiful and remains on your hair for about 2 days. I would recommend this product.

Which I love because I have extremely long hair and love not having to use half a bottle to wash my hair. My hair felt fresh and washed after use of the shampoo and as I dried my hair I did noticed a silk and shine to it straight away but the only thing I would say is that was not lasting for the days following use my hair felt oily again very quickly after use ! I have oily and frizzy hair so it was nice and hydrating without adding to the stickiness. smells amazing too! the only thing I didn't like was how small the bottle was vs the price point - if you have long hair you will go through this quickly, be warned!

I usually have to use a lot of products to get my hair semi shiny and even then the shine disappears after 24 hours. This shampoo smells really nice and lathers really good on my hair. I double shampoo with a silicone brush to really clean my hair, and this shampoo did not leave my hair feeling oily or dirty. It washed out really easily. Paired with the other products in this range it really made a difference to my hair. I found while using the L'Oreal Paris Elvive Glycolic Gloss range my hair was shiny and bouncy and looked amazing.

This product comes in a lovely pink bottle that made it easy to dispense the product. Shampoo has a slight pink hue that matches the bottle, and is slightly scented (though very light and quite pleasant). I also love that it's sulfate free, though I still managed to get a good lather from it! Easy to use, would recommend! This shampoo is step one of the L'Oréal Paris Elvive Glycolic range - I would strongly suggest using this alongside the other three products in the range to get best results!
