1. What is a hair cuticle?
The hair cuticle is the outermost part of the hair shaft. It's comprised of overlapping cells that resemble fish scales. It's there to protect the inner layers of your hair (like the follicle) from damage and provides shine.

2. What are the benefits of hair gloss?
Shine is the ultimate sign of hair health. When hair is damaged, the cuticles lift and become misaligned. The surface becomes rough and porous, with a Limited ability to reflect the light. As a result, hair has a dull, lifeless appearance. By contrast, healthy hair has a smooth surface with seamlessly sealed cuticles that reflect light and give it radiant shine.

3. Why Glycolic Acid for hair?
Now proven for your hair, glycolic acid brings a double glossing action that firstly, restores the hair fibre from the inside to improve its quality, and secondly, seals the hair with a lasting shiny glaze.

4. How do I use the Glycolic Gloss range?
Our at home glossing service can be incorporated daily into your hair routine, or between washes for a gloss that lasts through 10 shampoos*. Begin with our Shampoo and Conditioner. Follow this with our 5 Minute Lamination Rinse-Off, and finally coat with our Leave-in Serum.

*instrumental test after application of the shampoo, conditioner and lamination treatment.

General Information

Discover our 1st at-home hair glossing conditioner enriched with glycolic acid which is ideal for dull, damaged hair. A conditioner that perfectly smoothes the hair fiber's surface.

Having shiny hair means having healthy hair, because its smooth surface perfectly reflects light. But hair damage disrupts cuticles, which makes fibers rough, porous, and dull - preventing hair from reflecting light. This 1st at-home glossing treatment by L'Oréal Paris is powered by Glycolic Acid restoring the hair fiber from the inside to intensely improve hair quality and seals hair with lasting shine. A hair transformation that lasts up to 10 shampoos.* • 85% leaves hair healthier** • 83% intensively smooth hair** *Instrumental test after application of shampoo+ conditioner+ lamination treatment **Consumer test on 160 women after 2 weeks of application of shampoo + conditioner

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great conditioner [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really liked this conditioner as it made my hair feel extremely smooth, more so than other products at a similar price point, after application. I recommend waiting three minutes before washing it out, as is recommended on the package, as I found this definitely magnified the conditioning and smoothing effect. My hair tends to be quite dry and this noticeably added moisture to it, as well as made it softer to run my hands through. However, it would be good if this came in a larger bottle, so more usage could be gotten from the packet. Having to use the open/shut lid in a shower can be a little frustrating as it gets quite slippery - a pump top is so much easier. Visually, the packaging is extremely appealing and complements the rest of the range (the shampoo, laminate and serum). This works particularly well when paired with the rest of this range, especially when the laminate product is subsequently used immediately after the application of the conditioner. I recommend this conditioner to anyone looking for a conditioner with a swift smoothing, softening and conditioning effect.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just another conditioner [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Honestly, this is just another conditioner. I didn't find that it increased the shine of my hair, I also expected this product to make my hair feel silkier but it was lacking in that department. The packing is very pretty.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice fragrance [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] "I adore the fragrance of this conditioner; it's very pleasant. But, it dries out my curls more than I expected. On the positive side, it does leave a noticeable shine on my hair, which looks great."

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Smell is amazing [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Trialled all of the product line The conditioner smells really nice. For my hair type which is thick and wavy/curly and frizzy at times, I feel it made the frizziness worse. It did help make my hair feel a little softer at the same time but overall no improvement to shine.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pretty product but not life changing [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just like the shampoo this conditioner comes in a nice pink bottle and is pink in colour which is awesome, it has a nice fragrance. It’s got a glittery shine to it but doesn’t have glitter in it. The conditioner washed out easily. I wouldn’t say the product seemed to make much of a difference to my regular conditioner. My hair didn’t smell nice the next day. No shine left on the hair after it dried too

Rated 3 out of 5 by from L'Oréal Elvive Glycolic Gloss [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This conditioner smells so nice! I think for normal hair this would be great, however for my dry hair I don't think it's moisturising enough. I would still recommend people try it for themselves.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hydrating but lots of residue [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] With thicker hair, more is needed but it sticks to hair nicely and is hydrating. Personally not a fan of residue and this leaves quite a bit even after multiple thorough washes

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lovely conditioner [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I liked the experience of this conditioner although I’m unsure if it made my hair feel softer or any benefits to the overall health of my hair. I have quite dry, frizzy hair and can’t say that I saw any amazing improvement. I did however notice some damage to my coloured hair (have copper colour) and feel like it made it fade much faster and almost turn yellow. So beware also if you have coloured hair. The smell is amazing though, I did really enjoy how it left a fragrance on my hair as well. Would definitely buy that smell as a perfume! Overall it was a very average experience for a shampoo.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Packaging size needs to be bigger [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Glycolic Gloss Haircare routine as part of a trial and whist I loved the products individually, their scent, consistency and packaging are great on their own. I did find however that using the products as directed left my hair greasy, my scalp feeling thick and my hair showing signs of buildup and caking. The shampoo is quite thick and does lather well however it does take some work to do so The conditioner has a fine consistency but the amount received in the bottle is not comparable to shampoo meaning you run out of it much quicker The hair treatment is the only product I found I loved and would probably repurchase as used with other shampoo and conditioner it does leave the desired results and makes my hair shiny and easy to manage Finally the serum was a bit confusing as it initially appears as if the bottle is glittery however on use of the product the glitter is contained in the product itself, I would have loved this had there been any pay off of this glitter into the hair however it dissolves in the hair but never off the hands and only adds an oily, not shiny, look to the finished product once styled. I’m sure this product would be amazing for those with dry and dull hair however it was simply not for me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pretty good! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using L’Oréal Glycolic range for a few weeks now and I do normally like to chop and change brands for Haircare. Whilst I wasn’t a big fan of the shampoo in this range, I do enjoy the conditioner. My hair feels really soft and hydrated after using it and it dries quite nicely. My only concern is, it takes a while to wash out of my hair. I have very thick hair and it feels like I’m rinsing for a long time before it feels like it’s all out of my hair. I think it provides enough hydration without using all 4 steps of this Haircare regime

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Silky smooth but weighs the hair down [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After a few weeks of using the lore elvive glycolic condition, I found it really weighted down my hair. It also created a reaction on my scalp, potentially due to the oils in the products. I have thick coloured hair and it definetly felt nice after washing. Although a few days after it felt heavy and oily. It did leave my hair very shiny especially alongside with other loreal elvive glycolic products. It did have a nice smell and packaging was rather nice. I didn't notice that some of the ingredients of the range include water insoluble silicones, which I tend to stay away from due to potential build up after filing the hair and then sometimes leaving the hair feeling lack lustre or damaged. I think this range really would potentially suit those who have curly hair or want their hair noticeably silky smooth, don't have issues with products that weight down the hair or oils. I myself won't continue to use this product due to the heaviness that it leaves on my hair, but suggest it's worth a try.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from it’s ok [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been trialling the new Glycolic Gloss Range for the past few weeks and I have used the shampoo, conditioner & leave-in serum 3 or 4 times and the 5-minute lamination once. With the conditioner, it has a beautiful smell which isn’t overpowering. I do a double shampoo before I go in with the conditioner. My hair does feel shinier and I have less frizz. I do however feel like my hair feels oily and weighed down quicker. I will continue to use the range, but I don’t think I would buy it again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Could be better [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really looking forward to using this product! It sounded like it would help my hair be more shiny and healthy but sadly this made my hair very dry and i could hardly even brush my fingers through. The conditioner helped a little bit with softening it but the treatment/serum made it go straight back to being dry. Could be because I have very fine curly hair which is usually dryer than most people's hair but this product sadly took all the moisture out of my hair. Had to do multiple masks afterwards just to make my hair not feel so staw like and full of knots

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Better for dry hair [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This conditioner has an amazing smell, I use it after the Loreal Gylcolic shampoo. I do find that my hair gets extremely oily after using the conditioner, however the day after my hair is look shinier. I think as my hair is more on the oily side, this product isnt for me. People with more dry hair would benefit more from this product. I do love the way it leaves your hair smelling after use, my boyfriends commented on how nice my hair smells. I just find there is less volume to my hair after using this conditioner and because of this, unlikely to buy again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's okay [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very standard conditioner. I felt as though it did a good job in moisturising my hair, but it didn't weigh my hair down which was a great plus. But I don't think this did anything in terms of making my hair less frizzy and more shiny. If anything, I feel as though my hair looked a bit more frizzy after blow drying. Not too sure what the glycolic acid is meant to be doing, but doesn't seem that beneficial. Wouldn't repurchase, and I don't think I would recommend it to friends either...unless you have straight hair.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Worked well, would love it in a bigger size [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using this conditioner (and the rest of the range) for 3 weeks now, and I wash my hair 1 to 2 times a week. My first thoughts were that this conditioner has a great fragrance (my hair smelled so nice after!) and the packaging is so pretty. It did help with detangling the knots in my curly hair and felt really smooth after washing, with less frizziness. I didn’t notice too much of a difference in shininess as my hair is already quite shiny, so I can’t talk to those benefits. All in all a good product, but I’m not sure I would buy this again. The packaging is quite small and I tend to use a lot of conditioner.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Heavy [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using the Loreal Paris elvive glycolic gloss conditioner for the past few weeks and have not seen a huge difference in my hair. I have frizzy bleached hair and have found the range weighs down my hair making it feel like I need to wash it more regularly, this could be due to having thin hair. i have not had any improvement on the frizz . The one thing I have notices was my hair was shineyer and the packaging and smell of this product is luxurious. I will most likely not continue to use this product going forward.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok not Good [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First of all I love that the packaging of the Glycolic Gloss Conditioner is pink, it looks nice on display with the other products in the line. The fragrance of the Glycolic Gloss Conditioner is nice and not overpowering. The smell linger for a little while after use as well. My hair is free from bleach or colour and is fine and long. My scalp is normal to dry. I typically condition my hair with a conditioning mask or regular conditioner after a bond treatment. When I used the Glycolic Gloss Conditioner I used the Glycolic 5-minute Lamination treatment first. The conditioner made my hair feel silky and easily detangled when I distributed the product through my hair with my fingers. I will continue to use and may purchase the Glycolic Gloss Conditioner in the future.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works, but not blown away [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This conditioner smells wonderful, it really adds to the salon/high quality feel of the product. The packaging is also really beautiful, but a little bit small for the price point. I would prefer a pump style lid just for ease of use in the shower. It does the job; however, I wasn't blown away by the results and feel it's really similar to the brand I already use. It definitely feels better and 'glossier' if you leave it on for 3 minutes like the packaging says but it does take a while to fully wash out of the hair. I like that the bottle is recyclable, I like that it is sulfate-free, and it states on the back that they don't test on animals - so a star for that. It's nice but I wouldn't repurchase or recommend to a friend.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not that great [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Out of all i was the most disappointed with this conditioner. It did reduce frizz like the other products in this range but after use my hair still felt dry. Ive used alot of brands of conditioner and even the cheapest ones dont make my hair as dry as this one. The smell is amazing as with the other products but i just wish the conditioner was more hydrating. I can usually get away with not using a leave-in serum or conditioner, but with this product i have to. If wanting to try the whole set i would recommend but if youre looking for an everyday shampoo and conditioner i would recommend going for a different conditioner

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Neither here nor there [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just another cheap conditioner really. I don’t have particularly dry hair but felt it didn’t really nourish my hair at all, like a good conditioner should. My ends felt crispy and like they were about to break off. Much like the other products in the range, my hair wasn’t left glossy or shiny. There are much better conditioners on the market that actually achieve they they claim to do. This product was disappointing as it’s hard to go wrong with a conditioner. Would not recommend or purchase myself!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Just ok [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, I found this conditioner to work fine. I have blonde colour treated hair that is wavy and frizzy. The conditioner did make my hair feel softer and shinier and did control some flyaways. I didn't notice that it made a difference to styling time. I would use the product up but I don't think I would repurchase in the future. The product has a really overwhelming fake smell that I didn't enjoy. I don't recommend the product. I think the glycolic acid claim is a gimmick noting that it's the second last ingredient in the bottle meaning it's probably not doing much as claimed. I also found the size of the product to quite small - 150ml, so not really value for money.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It’s okay, maybe better for others. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using this range of products for a month and I’m not quite happy with them. The conditioner wasn’t anything special for me personally, it didn’t change the way my lengths felt or looked but did make it feel heavier. I prefer to air dry my hair and it made my lengths clump together and crispy when not followed by the serum. Used together with all products in the range didn’t do anything good for my hair, it made my hair look the same as before I washed it. This may work for others but unfortunately not for myself.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointing [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After trying the shampoo in this range and then the conditioner it was quite disappointing. The shampoo feels more nourishing than the conditioner surprisingly. I have used many cheaper conditioners that do a much better job. This honestly didn't feel like a conditioner but more so a moisturizer. I have curly dry hair and this just does nothing for it. I really don't know what else to say other than I'm disappointed. For a product that is so small and pricey I would expect it to be amazing and it's not.
