1. What is a hair cuticle?
The hair cuticle is the outermost part of the hair shaft. It's comprised of overlapping cells that resemble fish scales. It's there to protect the inner layers of your hair (like the follicle) from damage and provides shine.

Directions

Apply a generous amount of this hair care product on wet hair, to seal it with a shine glaze from lengths to tips. Leave on for 5 minutes and then rinse thoroughly.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited to be a part of this L'Oreal trial as I hadn't seen glycolic hair care before, and have been fairly impressed with the results. As with the shampoo and conditioner, this lamination product has a nice scent which isn't too overbearing. It is a nice texture and feels really nice when applied to the hair. It washes out without issue, leaves the hair feeling very soft, and doesn't leave any unwanted residue. My hair does look and feel nice after using the entire range. I would say that it is shinier than when using my regular hair care, but I do find that my hair does get oily a little faster than usual.

I haven't really used a product like this before so I was quite skeptical using it but I like how unique it is. This product has helped me lock in the shiny look and it makes my hair feel and look as soft as silk. The packaging of the product felt very lux and expensive. I would recommend to friends in the market for this particular product however it's not an absolute essential.

I have thin curly hair that is quite dry and I feel like this puts a good coating over my hair. I like to use it twice a week to just put more moisture into my hair. It's very easy to use and goes a long way so you don't need to use to much. It smells quite nice too. It does make the shower floor super slippery when I wash it out unfortunately. I think for people with dry hair this would be great however it is quite pricey.

It’s so easy to use in conjunction with the shampoo and conditioner. I apply a sufficient amount and put my hair in a clip, letting it work its magic. My hair feels so silky and soft when I rinse this treatment out. As a blonde with years of bleach and heat damage, getting shine in my hair is almost impossible. This product line makes my hair look noticeably more shiny, and it feels so healthy and much more manageable, too. This whole line is absolutely incredible, especially for the price!

It's very simple to use: shampoo and condition your hair as usual, then apply this treatment, leave it on for five minutes, and rinse off. My hair has been very dry lately, but after using this once, it became incredibly soft and silky. I can see a nice shine in my hair. The product is a lovely pink color with a creamy texture that applies smoothly and smells amazing. I highly recommend it and will continue using it! I love how my hair looks and feels. Additionally, the bottle is made from 100% recycled materials, the product is produced in a factory using 100% renewable energy, and L’Oreal does not test on animals.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Treatment [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I started using this Glycolic Gloss 5 minute Lamination along with the L'Oréal Paris Elvive range of products on every hair wash day, however i noticed it worked better using it once a week as it's a thicker consistency and when used in conjunction with the other L'Oréal Paris Elvive range of products, it was a bit too much for my hair and weighed it down a little so i had to wash my hair more often. I also only applied the Glycolic Gloss 5 minute Lamination product to mid to ends of my hair which worked well.

At first, i didn't see the effect of this product on the first try but gave it another try. Then i noticed, my hair is silkier and shinier with this product. Probaby helps that i am also using it with the shampoo and conditioner. I would totally recommend it to anybody specially with bleached and frizzy hair like mine! I would definitely repurchase. I also have very oily scalp. Washed hair in the evening before bed and it starts getting oily at noon time but this does not weigh my hair down and helps in prolonging the freshness of my hair and scalp. I am happy with this product range!

Performs like a dream! Tames frizz, adds hydration and smells divine. It has been helpful in keeping my hair hydrated during postpartum, while feeling like my hair and skin are constantly dehydrated myself. It is not heavy and really helps my hair look smooth and feel hydrated. Worth the cost and lasts ages. It is also nice to be able to do a treatment at home easily for my own self care!

I sometimes found it hard to keep it for the entire 5 minutes as I ranged between 3 to 5 minutes in the shower. I used this directly after washing out the conditioner. I thought the little tube squeezy bottle was actually quite cute. It had a similar thick texture as the conditioner and I applied it in the same way – to the hair shafts and to the ends. It was easy to apply and rise out. I felt it just added to the lovely smell my hair had after the shower and contributed to its lovely shine. You also don’t need to use a huge amount so I believe that the 200ml bottle will actually last a long time. The only downside is this is another step that I don’t normally do and it’s a long wait

Not only are the bottles super cute, but the formula is also pink and smells really nice. The lamination treatment was easy to use and didn’t add too much additional time to my regular hair washing routine. It smoothed through my hair but didn’t feel like it was doubling up on the conditioner. Overall I did feel like it made my hair smoother each time I used it, however I don’t feel like it had long term improvement to the smoothness of my hair as I only had these effects when I used at least 3 out of the 4 products, despite the laminating treatment only meant to be used every few washes (not every wash). On days where I didn’t use the lamination treatment, I saw no difference to how my hair normally feels and looks compared to my regular shampoo & conditioner. Unfortunately something that I expected the product to deliver on but didn’t was smoothing my hair to better hold up against humidity. The glycolic gloss routine is meant to smooth the hair fibre’s surface and provide a glossy shine however it did nothing to resist humidity so any smoothness effect it had after washing, was completely struck out as soon as I walked outside. It’s a great product as part of the Loreal Paris Elvive Glycolic Gloss range as it clearly helps to make my hair smooth and shiny. However I wish it held up better against humidity because the smoothing function was the biggest selling point of this and I was a little let down. When it’s not humid though, it does a great job of keeping my hair tamed! Unfortunately being in Sydney, the humidity is pretty constant..

The product has a nice smell and comes in a nice bottle made of recycled plastic and is a good size. The lamination is very easy to apply and coats hair nicely. You do not need to use much product for it to have an effect. I leave it in for the recommended time before rinsing and find it leaves my hair feeling very silky and looking glossy. I would recommend trying this product!

I have been using this lamination after double shampooing and conditioning my hair and have really enjoyed the overall results. This is great for a mid week wash if I don’t have time to do a hair mask and leaves my hair feeling softer and frizz free. This spreads well through my hair and I can easily glide a comb through once applying to help spread the product. It also has a soft, pleasant smell that isn’t too powerful.

The colour is a pink pearl and has a love sweet scent too. I let it process for 5 mins while I wash my face and body etc then rinse it out. Once I’ve dried my hair my hair feels so soft and looks much more shinier than it did prior to the treatment. I havnt had a professional gloss treatment before but think this at home one is amazing. One of the treatments with the 5 minute lamination step lasts 10 washes. I have had lots of compliments on how nice my hair looks since using this and have been recommending it to my family and friends.

My hair has needed some extra TLC and shine, especially with bleaching my hair I was very happy to see that it is sulphate free and contains glycolic acid. Repairing the hair fibres and quality. It is such an affordable price and very convenient to purchase. The treatment seals the fibres helping with the smoothness up to 10 shampoos. I loved how fancy this process was. Pink is my favourite colour, the colour of the product is a shiny pink, with a beautiful fruity, floral scent. It is a very easy process to use, and I love pampering my hair. So far I am very happy with the results. My hair feels and looks revived, smooth and healthy!

The scent is divine and lingers after use. This is the 3rd step out of their four product range. After conditioning, I apply the lamination to the mid lengths to the ends of my hair and let it sit for at least 5 mins. Then I rinse it out, i found that using both conditioner and lamination on the same wash leaves my hair soft but my hair felt heavier with too much product build up. I prefer to alternate them in my wash days instead of using both together. I would definitely recommend it to others with damaged and dry hair as it will make your hair glossy and silky.

I'm not one to regularly use a treatment; I feel as though a 5 minute addition to the routine is a serious investment of time when trying to get ready whilst organising a young family. I would still only use this treatment once per week at the most, but would really enjoy it. The L'Oréal Paris Elvive Glycolic Gloss 5 minute Lamination feels beautiful, thick and creamy. It smells subtle and lovely - not like chemicals. It made combing and styling my hair easier afterwards, and did make my hair feel healthier. I would gladly recommend to others.

It was good for my bleached hair because it really increased the softness, however I wonder if it could be used as a stand alone product without the conditioner. Could immediately see and feel a difference in my hair, it was so soft, I almost couldn't believe it! Loved the smell of the product and also the pink color, very pretty. I've never used a product like this in the shower after washing but I will definetly continue using this product. I did notice though after rinsing that it made my shower floor very slippery!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Leave in treatments aren't for me [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the idea of the leave in treatments but honestly I have a newborn so who has time to chuck something in their hair, wait 5 minutes and then go and get back to it. I fortunately this was my least fave product but only because I don't have the time for all that.

My hair was marginally shiner after using but not enough to warrant purchasing this product again. I also expected this product to make my hair feel silkier but it was lacking in that department. It does smell delicious though!

Using it was annoying as it left an oily film on my body, so I could not use the 5 minute leave on period to wash my body or do anything else.

Although I like to comb my conditioner through upside down so I did the same with this product and only the lengths. Left too much of an oily feel on my hair after a rinse out. Felt like it made my hair frizzled.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent gloss 3.5 stars [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When used with part of the glycolic gloss range, it did leave my hair smoother both immediately after and for several days afterwards. I love the scent (sweet perfume) but I find the application a bit tedious as you have to wash your hair first, dry it slightly then leave this in for 5 minutes before rinsing it out again - I can see myself not bothering to do this if I'm tired / rushing.
