1. What is a hair cuticle?
The hair cuticle is the outermost part of the hair shaft. It's comprised of overlapping cells that resemble fish scales. It's there to protect the inner layers of your hair (like the follicle) from damage and provides shine.

2. What are the benefits of hair gloss?
Shine is the ultimate sign of hair health. When hair is damaged, the cuticles lift and become misaligned. The surface becomes rough and porous, with a Limited ability to reflect the light. As a result, hair has a dull, lifeless appearance. By contrast, healthy hair has a smooth surface with seamlessly sealed cuticles that reflect light and give it radiant shine.

3. Why Glycolic Acid for hair?
Now proven for your hair, glycolic acid brings a double glossing action that firstly, restores the hair fibre from the inside to improve its quality, and secondly, seals the hair with a lasting shiny glaze.

4. How do I use the Glycolic Gloss range?
Our at home glossing service can be incorporated daily into your hair routine, or between washes for a gloss that lasts through 10 shampoos*. Begin with our Shampoo and Conditioner. Follow this with our 5 Minute Lamination Rinse-Off, and finally coat with our Leave-in Serum.

*instrumental test after application of the shampoo, conditioner and lamination treatment.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Stunning hair serum! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This hair gloss/serum is a true gem in the realm of hair care. Its mesmerising pink hue adorned with sparkles instantly adds a touch of glamour and shine to your locks. One of its standout features is its lightweight formula, which seamlessly glides onto the hair without leaving any greasy residue behind. The suggested dosage of two pumps proves ample for most hair lengths, though those with longer locks can indulge in a bit more for added luster. Upon application, this serum works its magic, leaving hair gorgeously glossy and radiant. However, its only downfall lies in the absence of heat protection, a crucial element for safeguarding hair from styling tools. Nevertheless, the unique scent, distinct from the rest of the range, adds an extra layer of allure, making the experience all the more delightful. Despite this minor setback, the entire range exudes a luxurious salon-quality feel, yet remains surprisingly affordable—a rare combination in the beauty world. Overall, this hair gloss/serum is a must-have for anyone seeking to elevate their haircare routine with a touch of sparkle and sophistication.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fun but not convincing [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I regularly use a leave-in moisturiser after each wash, finding that my hair needs it to stay healthy. The L'Oréal Paris Elvive Glycolic Gloss Leave-in Serum was a fun product to try. The 'sparkly' colour and scent was appealing and it was easy to use. I found the texture really thin - I would prefer a creamier texture. I also found that my hair felt crunchy after use, when using on damp hair - I didn't like that feeling. Once dry, the hair felt healthy and shiny, but I'm not convinced that it's the best thing for my hair. My hair did feel softer and smoother the next day rather than at the time of use, so perhaps initial texture and feeling is warranted. I wouldn't use this product regularly but found it fun to try.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Could be a hit or a miss [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Using this product involved a lot of trial and error for me. I tried applying the recommended amount on the bottle 'two drops' but it evaporated by the time I'd rubbed it between by palms and was ready to apply it to my hair. I then tried two pumps and whilst I was able to apply it to my hair, it left it looking oily and a bit limp rather than the desired glossy and shiny effect. The third time, I tried one pump and this finally seemed to be the right amount. Upon application, I didn't really notice any extra shine in my hair, but it did a good job at taming any loose strands. Whilst I applaud the environmentally friendly production process (bottle is recycled material, factory uses renewable energy, no animal testing etc) I think that for the hefty price and compared to what is currently available on the market, it could be a better and easier to use product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great for Oily Hair [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First of all I love that the packaging of the Glycolic Gloss Leave-in Serum is pink, it looks nice on display with the other products in the line. The fragrance of the Glycolic Gloss Leave-in Serum is nice and not overpowering. The smell linger for a little while after use as well. My hair is free from bleach or colour and is fine and long. My scalp is normal to dry. I typically use a hydrating cream that has thermal protection qualities after a wash. When I used the Glycolic Gloss Leave-in Serum it spread nicely throughout my hair and seemed to soak in well. It is a clear serum like texture. My hair felt clean and hydrated after using the 4 steps of the Glycolic Gloss line. I dried my hair with a hair dryer and then straightened it. My hair did look shinier then pre-wash. I wouldn’t say my hair was significantly glossier. Once dry and straight, my hair went static-y which doesn’t normally happen if I use a leave-in treatment. Due to this, I will continue to use the treatment but will not purchase in the future.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Light and sparkly [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This serum achieved the balance of feeling both light and moisturising when I applied it to my hair. I used it on wet/damp hair immediately after using the rest of the range (the shampoo, conditioner and laminate), and I feel that this likely maximised the effectiveness of the product. While perhaps the sparkle/glitter within the product itself was perhaps visually attractive, when viewed inside the bottle, it was rather off-putting to put a sparkly product in my hair. Fortunately, the sparkles weren't visible when added to my hair. I like how the brand made the outer layer of packaging able to be peeled off so that the bottle can be recycled. I enjoyed using this product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too extra for my liking [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted to love this product but it wasn’t for me. It just looked like I sprinkled large amounts of glitter in my hair and didn’t actually do anything amazing after applying it. Absolutely loved the 3 other products but this one was a miss for me. The colour and smell are amazing though!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Literally made no difference [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product didnt make a difference at all to my hair. i applied it while damp, after using the shampoo, conditioner and the 5 minute treatment. After my hair dried with this in, I didnt notice any extra shine or nice smells. The good thing is that, it didnt leave my hair oily or my hands oily after application, but its probably not really worth purchasing.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Gimmic [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 3 step process of this line is not worth your time! This product made my hair feel dry and like plastic after use so much so I had to do a deep hair mask afterward to restore the moisture in my hair! The after shine serum is the biggest gimmic and is simply filled with shimmer powder to give the effect of shine not that your hair is actually shining from within. Don’t waste your time or money on this line.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Leave in [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wasn’t a fan I applied to my hand and palmed together to realise I was covered in a glitter? I don’t like even if it’s miniscule It made my hair feel oily most of the day and the smell wasn’t as good as the first 3 products

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Smells good [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hmmm I’m not sure what to say about this product, not bad not good?! I’ve been using it as part of the whole L’Oréal glycolic range so I feel as though I can’t decide if it actually does anything. I like running a serum through my hair as part of self care but I don’t think my hair would miss this product if I didn’t have it. I wouldn’t go out of my way to buy it. It does smell lovely, much the same as the rest of the range. The product looks very pretty in the bottle and looks glittery but I don’t think it makes my hair glossy and glittery maybe just a bit oily

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Silky smooth but weighs hair down [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After a few weeks of using the lore elvive glycolic leave in serum, I found it really weighted down my hair. It also created a reaction on my scalp, potentially due to the oils in the products. I have thick coloured hair and it definetly felt nice after washing. Although a few days after it felt heavy and oily. It did leave my hair very shiny especially alongside with other loreal elvive glycolic products. It did have a nice smell and packaging was rather nice. I didn't notice that some of the ingredients of the range include water insoluble silicones, which I tend to stay away from due to potential build up after filing the hair and then sometimes leaving the hair feeling lack lustre or damaged. I think this range really would potentially suit those who have curly hair or want their hair noticeably silky smooth, don't have issues with products that weight down the hair or oils. I myself won't continue to use this product due to the heaviness that it leaves on my hair, but suggest it's worth a try.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from it was okay [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My hair have been bleached a year ago, so my hair has been pretty dry and brittle. When I got this product, I was super excited for a leave in serum to help my hair return to its less frizz state. However this product has been quite disappointing. It says to just apply a few pumps. but I find that, a few pumps is not enough. The texture of it was a lot more sticky and thick then I expected, which did not leave a good feeling on my hands or my hair. It also has glitter in it (?) I highly recommend the shampoo and conditioner combination, but this one would be a miss for me

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very glittery [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is straight up glitter. It's like the most glittery leave in serum I have ever seen, it's basically just shimmery oil in a bottle. That aside, this product (like all the products in the range) is very fragranced. This is a decent leave in serum, which is quite lightweight and good for my fine, frizzy hair. But, wow it is so shimmery. I have no idea why all that glitter is needed. I don't really think this helps that much in terms of managing my frizz and it isn't a product that I love using to be honest. Wouldn't repurchase and wouldn't recommend to friends or family.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Straight up glitter [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product did not work out for me and I found it to be straight up glitter. This product was the biggest let down in the glycolic range. The product is essentially pink glitter in a bottle. After applying and throughout the day, I could see glitter specks in my hair particularly up the top. I thought I may have applied too much so I tried again and it is still glittery. It also gets all over your hands when applying so is not very convenient. I find the product to be masking results with the shine coming from the glitter. I don't recommend this and think there are better leave in serums out there that provide real results with their ingredients rather than an alcohol filled glitter serum.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too heavy for curly wavy hair [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using the L’Oreal Paris elvive glycolic range for 3 weeks now and have used the leave in glycolic serum 6 times. While I loved the shampoo and the 5 minute lamination gloss treatment, the leave in serum was unfortunately my least favourite product. I have curly wavy hair, and this product just made my hair feel weighed down. I found my curls were harder to style and my hair got oilier much faster than usual. I also like to use a leave in serum every day on the ends of my hair, but found this made my hair a bit crunchy. I’d say this is possibly not suitable for people with curlier hair, or I’d recommend using less than the recommended pumps.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Glittery in all the wrong ways [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Glycolic Gloss Haircare routine as part of a trial and whist I loved the products individually, their scent, consistency and packaging are great on their own. I did find however that using the products as directed left my hair greasy, my scalp feeling thick and my hair showing signs of buildup and caking. The shampoo is quite thick and does lather well however it does take some work to do so The conditioner has a fine consistency but the amount received in the bottle is not comparable to shampoo meaning you run out of it much quicker The hair treatment is the only product I found I loved and would probably repurchase as used with other shampoo and conditioner it does leave the desired results and makes my hair shiny and easy to manage Finally the serum was a bit confusing as it initially appears as if the bottle is glittery however on use of the product the glitter is contained in the product itself, I would have loved this had there been any pay off of this glitter into the hair however it dissolves in the hair but never off the hands and only adds an oily, not shiny, look to the finished product once styled. I’m sure this product would be amazing for those with dry and dull hair however it was simply not for me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It’s a no from me [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Horrible, cheap product. The recommended amount to use is 2 drops but it’s a pump dispense so impossible to measure drops….you either get not enough product or way too much. There are chunks of glitter floating around in it, which made it look cheap and gimmicky. I have fine, long hair. I applied to damp, clean hair and it made my hair feel and look so incredibly dirty and full of product that I had to wash it again after applying. Absolutely no shine or gloss like it claims, my hair looked limp and oily. Would not recommended!
