[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This step has been a new addition to my hair care routine so unfortunately I don’t have anything to compare it to. It is designed to protect hair as the first step before cleansing your scalp/hair of all of the product buildup to ensure there is no damage. Using this along with the shampoo and conditioner has allowed my hair to feel stronger and healthier once it’s dry before I style it. The bond building ingredients are a fantastic addition to my hair care routine and mean my hair is getting stronger every wash! I have been using this for 3 weeks and feel like I can already see a difference with how healthy my hair looks!

It left my hair feeling hydrated and smooth before shampooing. My hair looked less brassy and had a noticeable shine even after the first use. I liked the delicate scent and texture. I used this as a part of three with the shampoo and conditioner. Another thing I appreciated about this product is how it fits into my hair care routine. It doesn't add much time to the process, which is great for busy mornings or when you’re in a hurry. Simply apply it to damp hair, let it sit for a few minutes, and then proceed with the shampoo and conditioner. It’s a quick and easy step that delivers results. Would recommend using all three to get the best results! If you’re struggling with dryness, brassiness, or damage, give this product a try & you won’t be disappointed!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The smell of this pre treatment shampoo is AMAZING, it’s not to over powering it’s simply wonderful, not to mention the softness and manageability it leaves your hair. I highly recommend the 3 step treatment from John Frieda Blonde plus repair system with Bond Building. Your hair will be left soft manageable and amazingly repaired and nourish. It really does work and lightens your hair and make them looking more stronger and healthier. It brightens dull highlights back to looking new and fresh. Smells very niece and just a small amount of this pre treatment shampoo is enough for long hair.You need to apply it on the damp hair and leave it for few minutes. i would recommend to use all the three products once or twice a week not every day as I can feel that is a building up on the scalp.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nourished and fresh [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have tried the John Frieda Blonde Pre-Shampoo Treatment, with the John Frieda Shampoo, and the Conditioner over the last two weeks. My hair is naturally dark brown but I have full head of blonde highlights and I usually use the purple shampoo religiously as I get brassy quickly following a trip to the hairdresser. The purple type shampoos and conditioners really dries out my hair. But I was swayed and impressed by this product as the Pre-Shampoo Treatment has protected my hair from being stripped of its moisture when shampooing and I could tell my hair felt more nourished! It also looks much healthier and strong after a blow dry. I also haven’t noticed the brass tone get any deeper. So I think it has helped control keeping my blonde highlights fresh.

I had coloured my hair last November and it was very damaged because of it. This pre shampoo treatment seems to have made it a little adjustable. The smell is good as well. Very satisfied, would definitely recommend. My hair is smoother and less dull looking. The damage is still there but it looks like its improving. That’s a good enough sign for me. I will continue using it and let its course run through but I am very optimistic about it.

It made my hair feel soft and lovely. I'm not sure that it does everything that it claims, but my hair felt very soft. On the down side, the next day my hair looked and felt a bit oily. I will definitely not be using it on the roots of my hair again. I will use it on the ends of my hair in future. I am not used to using this type of product, so thanks for the opportunity. My hair has never felt so soft and moisturized. After using the pre-treatment, I followed up with the shampoo and conditioner. I usually shampoo twice and then condition, but only shampooed once.

My hair tends to frizz quite easily, so I am always on the lookout for getting the frizz under control. I had high hopes for this product, however it just did not work for me. It is fine to use as an "in-between" wash product, but I found my hair to be visibly frizzy after use. My hair definitely feels fine to the touch after use, and the product smells pleasant, but the frizz it caused was a bit of a let down. Personally, I wouldn't recommend this product to friends or family. It's fine, but there are definitely other products out there that do the same thing and leave a smoothing effect on your hair after use.

I have enjoyed using this as a pre-treatment and have found my hair to be really soft once rinsing out. The bottle is easy to dispense from, and the product distributes evenly throughout my hair. As I have bleached hair, I am always looking for ways to save the integrity, however, I have only used this product for 3-4 washes, I do think more use is required to see what long terms benefits this product can have as initially it is nice but not game changing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice for those who like a full routine [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the pre-treatment as part of the 3-step system, so it's difficult to assess the impact of the product as a stand-alone. Overall I did notice while using the system that after a wash my hair felt soft and my natural curls were more prominent with just air drying - although I have not yet noticed a change in level of frizz, and still tended to style with a hydrating cream on the ends once dry. I don't typically have an extensive wash routine, so the additional time this product needed to be left in prior to a wash was sometimes a barrier. Going forwards I'm unlikely to use it for every wash, but maybe once a fortnight to see what the long-term benefits may be. My hair is currently bleach blonde with bright fashion colours at the end - incorporating this product did not cause the bright colours to fade any faster than usual, even when using hot water. Likewise there were no issues with colour deposits or interfering with my toner on the blonde section. I tend to have a sensitive scalp and this product did not irritate it or lead to any dandruff. The smell and texture is inoffensive - pretty similar to a standard shampoo.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good pre-treatment [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I trialled the John Frieda Blonde+ Pre-Treatment as part of the Beauty Crew Review Crew. My hair type is fine however I do have a lot of hair making it thick, therefore have to be careful with products being too "heavy" for my hair. I normally wash my hair 1-2 times per week, and found that I did not need to increase the number of washes using this product which was great. The Blonde+ Repair System has three steps, with the pre-treatment being the first step. The system is not overly complicated and very straight forward. I found that it has a pleasant smell, distributes through the hair well and didn't leave my hair feeling heavy/weighted down or greasy. I especially loved that the treatment is used prior to the shampoo/conditioner making it somewhat easier as opposed to a treatment you need to apply after shampoo for example. I did not notice a big difference with my hair after only two uses however will continue to use it. I think it would be very suitable for someone with bleached/blonde hair that needs some TLC.

I have natural curls that are foil bleached/toned to a snowy blonde, this ‘Step 1’ of the ‘3 Step’ process didn’t do 1 positive thing for my hair. It left an ever so slight oiliness at the roots & enough weight throughout to flop my curls! It is a simple process to use. It has a pleasant scent. I wasn’t left with a softness from a quality product that’s bonded with my hair. I didn’t notice an increase in my hairs strength after 5 washes. I wouldn’t recommend for natural curls.

Unfortunately, while it did help brighten my blonde hair, I was left feeling a bit underwhelmed with the overall results. Firstly, the product did manage to give my hair a noticeable boost of brightness and vibrancy, which is exactly what I was looking for. However, I was surprised to find that my hair didn't feel as moisturized as I had hoped. In fact, it felt drier and more brittle than before, with a bunch of pesky flyaways that I had to deal with throughout the day.

I didn't like having to make my hair damp before getting into the shower and waiting around. It’s much quicker and less messy to skip conditioner and use K18 after showering instead. The scent wasn't very nice and my hair got oiler quicker than usual. My hair didn't seem any different initially, but about 24 hours later, my hair seemed stronger and healthier. My hair was more ashy on the ends too. I wouldn't purchase this or recommend though. The bottle is not the best, I feel like I’ll need to cut it open to get the remainder out.
