Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nothing bad but nothing great either… [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nothing revolutionary but also nothing to complain about. Unfortunately I just didn’t see results or any difference at all really. It does have a nice texture, no real smell to it and I found that my skin absorbed this nicely. However, with so many products out there which claim to tackle dark spots or lighten the skin that’s been affected by acne, you really need to do something amazing in order to stand out from the rest. A definite downside is the pump/bottle. It took a lot of priming to try and get the serum out and I suspect this will continue to be an issue as I couldn’t quite get it right each time I used it. I’ll be devastated if the product gets stuck in there because there’s no real way to get it out. Overall there’s no real issue, but don’t think I’d be recommending as I’ve seen far better results in a shorter time with other products.

I was skeptical about using it too frequently but it was quite gentle. I have sensitive skin and it did not get irritated while using this product. You get a good amount of product in the bottle which makes the price worthwhile. I liked the pump because it is a lot easier to use than a dropper! The formula contains retinol so consider if that ingredient is needed for your skin before use. Benzac will always be a trusted brand for people struggling with acne.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently tried the Benzac Post Acne Serum with high hopes that it would help improve my skin's texture and appearance after dealing with breakouts. The product's claims of being light on the skin and effective in treating post-acne marks sounded promising. Unfortunately, my experience with this serum was not only disappointing but also distressing, as it triggered a severe case of perioral dermatitis, a condition I hadn't experienced in over a decade. When I first applied the Benzac Post Acne Serum, I appreciated its lightweight texture. It absorbed quickly into my skin without leaving a greasy residue, which is often a concern with serums. The initial application felt smooth, and there was no immediate irritation, which gave me a positive first impression. However, the real test of a skincare product is how it performs over time. After incorporating the Benzac Post Acne Serum into my daily routine, I began to notice some concerning changes in my skin. Despite the serum's claims of reducing post-acne marks and improving skin clarity, I observed that my blemishes were becoming more red and prominent. This was disappointing, as I was hoping for a soothing and healing effect, not an exacerbation of my skin issues. The most alarming reaction came in the form of a severe flare-up of perioral dermatitis. This condition, characterized by red, bumpy, and irritated skin around the mouth, had not troubled me for over ten years. The resurgence of this dermatitis was both unexpected and distressing. I initially did not link the flare-up to the Benzac Post Acne Serum, but as I continued using the product, it became clear that the serum was the culprit. My perioral dermatitis became progressively worse with each use of the serum, leading to significant discomfort and self-consciousness. The skin around my mouth became intensely red, inflamed, and painful. The irony was that a product meant to improve my skin’s appearance was causing one of the worst skin reactions I had experienced in years. In addition to the dermatitis, the Benzac Post Acne Serum seemed to make my existing blemishes more noticeable and aggravated. Instead of fading post-acne marks and calming my skin, it did the opposite. My blemishes appeared more red and prominent, which was incredibly frustrating. The combination of perioral dermatitis and worsened acne made my skin look and feel unhealthy. Given these severe adverse reactions, I cannot recommend the Benzac Post Acne Serum. While it may be light on the skin and easy to apply, the potential for triggering severe skin conditions and worsening blemishes is too significant to overlook. For those with sensitive skin or a history of dermatitis, this product poses a substantial risk. The experience was not only disappointing but also emotionally taxing, as dealing with a severe skin condition can significantly impact one's confidence and comfort. I have since stopped using the serum and switched to more gentle, non-irritating skincare products, which have helped to calm my skin and reduce the dermatitis. In conclusion, my experience with the Benzac Post Acne Serum was overwhelmingly negative. It triggered a severe flare-up of perioral dermatitis and made my blemishes more red and prominent. I would advise anyone considering this product to proceed with extreme caution, especially if they have sensitive skin or a history of skin conditions. There are better, safer options available that do not carry the same risks.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not great for me [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Both myself and my teen have been using this for 3 weeks straight and we haven't seen a difference in our scars. I have both new and old scars, and I don't see a difference in either of them. I am not a fan of this product. The container is a good size but the stiff pump implies that it will dispense a small amount of serum but too much keeps coming out. I also hate the smell of niacinamide. It didn't do anything for either of us though. Not sure if I need to use it for at least three months or something.

The ingredients included are great and typically provide benefits however I didn't see any during my trial. I found that my skin was noticeably breaking out during the time I used this, it could be argued that the ingredients promoted a 'purging' of the skin however I didn't find that it calmed down and resulted in better complexion. Unfortunately it's not something that I will continue using and I wouldn't recommend it to friends or family.
