Rated 3 out of 5 by from SPF is too low for Australian sun [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was lucky enough to try Cetaphil’s new product - Healthy Renew Day Cream SPF15. I was a bit concerned using it instead of my usual SPF which is an SPF50, especially since I am so fair. It is quite thick and sticky for what I am used to and you need to rub it in a lot as it’s so thick and white when applied. After 10 minutes or so it absorbed really nicely in to the skin and did not feel heavy or tacky on the skin. Unfortunately it did not sit well underneath makeup and did notice some pilling when used in conjunction. I would not purchase this product due to the low SPF formula as well as the pilling with makeup use.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Strong smell of sunscreen [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Cetaphil Healthy Renew Day Cream SPF15 is a decent moisturizer for daily use, especially if you have dry or sensitive skin. It provides light hydration and sun protection, which is great for everyday activities. The texture is smooth and absorbs fairly well, leaving the skin soft without a greasy feel. However, the sunscreen smell is quite strong, which may be off-putting for some users. If you’re sensitive to scents, this could be a drawback. The SPF15 is also on the lower side, so it might not be sufficient for prolonged sun exposure, meaning you’ll need additional sunscreen. Overall, it’s a functional moisturizer, but the noticeable sunscreen fragrance and low SPF prevent it from standing out. It works well for a basic daytime skincare routine, but those looking for stronger sun protection or fragrance-free options may want to explore other products.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good lightweight face cream [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As someone with sensitive skin, it can be quite challenging to find a product that my skin likes! This day cream has a nice texture when applied to the face and when used with the other Cetaphil range you get an amazing glow! I absolutely loved this face cream, however the only downside for me is that I did not find it super hydrating. Once applied you have a nice glow and has SPF which is a bonus, however as the day went on I could feel my face getting tight and dry. It is a beautiful lightweight face cream and those with normal or oily skin which benefit from it a lot. I prefer a thicker hydrating cream that I only need to apply once. The cream sits smoothly on face and also makes a great base for applying makeup. A beautiful product, just wish it was more hydrating.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Its not bad [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Skin type: Combination, acne-prone and sensitive Climate: Dry with temperamental weather Packaging: The product is easy to handle, though it took quite a bit of time in the beginning to get the product out. After the first pump, it was fine. Packaging looks clean and sleek. Texture and fragrance: A bit thick for my liking. It spread easily and sunk into my skin okay but I think it suits colder temperatures. It is fragrance free, but it has a slight typical sunscreen smell. I didn't mind it. Performance: I noticed my skin felt nourished because of its thickness. However, because of the texture i'm not the biggest fan. As a day cream I would only use this if I was going to be indoors, and opt for a product with higher spf if I was going to be out in the Australian sun. Overall thoughts: My skin did not react aversely to this, which I liked. Make up went well on top of it. However, I don't think I will reach for this more than my regular moisturiser and sunscreen.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Cetaphil’s Healthy Renew Day Cream SPF15 is a decent choice for daily sun protection. This product feels nice on the skin, offering a smooth, glowy finish while providing adequate SPF for general use. Personally, I wish it was SPF50, as I prefer higher sun protection, and there’s a slight odd smell. It has the typical SPF scent with an extra note that isn’t the best, and it lingers a bit. However, it sits well on its own and layers nicely under makeup. If a lower SPF and a faint scent don’t bother you, I’d still recommend giving this a try!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hydrating but slightly too heavy for SPF15 [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using Cetaphil Healthy Renew Day Cream SPF 15 for a few weeks now, and I have mixed feelings about it. On the plus side, it provides solid hydration. My skin feels well-moisturized throughout the day, which is great for combating dryness. While it has some great features, I found the consistency a bit thicker than I prefer. The SPF 15 is a useful addition for everyday use, offering basic sun protection. The cream has a mild scent that’s okay, but it’s important to note that it’s not truly fragrance-free as advertised. This may be a drawback for those with very sensitive skin. The packaging was nice, simple, and looked more expensive than the products retail at.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It was okay [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Liked it - didn't love it. This moisturiser was quite thick due to the sunscreen in it - it's an SPF 15 so although it was a sunscreen, it wasn't enough to offer the protection I needed yet I still needed to layer sunscreen on top. It's quite white when you put it on your face so you have to work at making sure it was worked into the skin. It also felt quite chalky and wasn't ask silky and buttery like the rest of the products in this line. I felt like I was reaching my other moisturisers more than this as it didn't work as just a sunscreen and it wasn't as nice as all the other moisturisers I have.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A bit to sunscreen feeling for me. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I did really enjoy using this product and is really good for an everyday light sunscreen with moisturising qualities but not what I look for in a day cream. The texture is quite thick and it gives me a film on my face exactly like sunscreen which I don't particularly like for an everyday cream. Only being a SPF15 my light SPF 50 feels the same as something lighter that blends better into the skin would be ideal for the product. The moisturising qualities are great and all the ingredients promote healthier skin. I would recommend this to someone as an everyday suncream when in situations with low sun exposure or someone looking to promote their skin health. I would just like to see something lighter on the skin for a day cream product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hydrating but a bit thick [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently tried the Cetaphil Healthy Renew day cream and while it has some great features and worked well for my skin, it wasn't my favourite product of the line up. The day cream contains SPF15 and I appreciate that wearing sunscreen is essential for anti ageing in the long run, the consistency of the day cream was thick and smelled almost like sunscreen. Like the other products in this line, I loved that Cetaphil is offering a retinol alternative and it worked great on my sensitive dry skin. It didn't cause any irritation and after using it consistently for the last few weeks, my skin feels more hydrated, pores are less visbile and my complexion looks overall more radiant. Despite these benefits, he thick consistency made it feel more like a sunscreen than a daily moisturiser. This might be a personal preference, but I prefer my day creams to have a lighter texture that doesn't feel heavy on the skin. Overall, it's a good product, but I wish it had a lighter feel.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works well under makeup [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For the last two weeks I’ve been trialling the Cetaphil Healthy Renew Range. When I wake up I use the Cetaphil Healthy Renew Day Cream SPF15 under my makeup, then when I am getting ready for bed I use the Cetaphil Healthy Renew Micellar Cleansing Water followed by the Cetaphil Healthy Renew Eye Serum and Cetaphil Healthy Renew Facial Serum. The day cream is cute with a white and matte gold/bronze finish. It’s easy to distribute the product with the handy pump. When I first saw the box packaging I thought it was a tinted moisturiser. I do also feel the box could be smaller to give a better representation of product size as there was empty space in the box. There’s no fragrance and the product is a nice texture and glides on nicely and absorbs quickly. I do feel that in this day and age with the promotion of being sun smart a minimum SPF30 would be better and I’d be more likely to get it as my day cream. I do like that it’s clinically tested for sensitive skin. I felt confident knowing this was non-irritating and designed specifically with sensitive skin in mind. I feel like it’s still early days for my results but I can see a slight improvement. Looking forward to continuing to see results. Overall using the four products for the last two weeks I have noticed slight improvement to my skin. It feels hydrated and more firm. I’m keen to keep using it and see how it goes with my fine lines.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from lacking spf - not suitable for a day cream [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Cetaphile is always such a tried and true, solid skincare range. It usually packs the punch with ingredients, whilst also being gentle on the skin, and having a great price point - this Day Cream as part of the Cetaphile Healthy Renew range has aspects of great, but others where it's lacking. I'm a firm believer that SPF and sun protection is the first line of skin care and anti-aging - you can have all the products doing all the background work, but if you don't have an SPF, it is basically moot. Up in Qld, the sun is no joke, and as such a SPF15 day Cream is just not going to cut it. Maybe in winter I'd be happy to use this day Cream, but not in summer without adding another sunscreen on top. I'd prefer a day Cream with spf50+ included to minimize extra layers of skincare. I feel like Cetaphil should've focused on a night cream that really hits hard with the ingredients, or nail a sunscreen, not be in this half way middle ground.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Needs a higher SPF [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was sent this product as part of a trial for Cetaphil's "Healthy Renew" range. Overall I found this day cream good, I did think it felt more like a sunscreen on application than a moisturiser however. It left my skin feeling hydrated but a bit tacky, thankfully it didn't have the white sheen that sunscreens can often leave however I would have liked better SPF coverage (higher than the current SPF15 that it has) if it's going to have the texture of a sunscreen as I feel that in Australia I need more protection and would therefore still need to add another sunscreen with this day cream as it is anyway, just because of this I would probably stick with my current moisturiser that has a higher SPF.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from SPF should be higher [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] OK, so the day cream goes on smoothly and feels nice. It leaves my skin quite soft and doesn't feel heavy on the skin. It's not a game changer from other face creams that I normally use but the appeal would be the fragrance free part. BUT the huge drawback is that it is only SPF15. In Australia, SPF15 is not enough to be used on its own without proper sunscreen (50+). The cream itself is quite good and I would love for it to be a normal face cream without the sunscreen, or bump up the SPF rating. I would recommend to someone who doesn't go outside at all.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Indifferent [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a good product for hydrating dry skin, keeping it moisturised all day and calming sensitive skin. The SPF level is so low, I'm not sure why it was even a component? I think these days most people who want to protect their skin would want an SPF 50+ product or at least 30+, and many have a favourite high protection sunscreen they would layer themselves with a day cream, so the inclusion of SPF 15 here confuses me. I saw no difference in brightening of my skin or smoothing fine lines, however I do think this is a nice product for layering as there's no pilling, and it is calming and gentle on sensitive skin.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Wish the SPF is higher [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently started using the Cetaphil Healthy Renew Day Cream with SPF 15, and I’m really loving it! As someone who’s always on the lookout for products that hydrate but also protect my skin, this cream has been a great find. It is gentle on the skin if you have sensitive skin and doesn't irritate. The one big negative for me is the SPF - I think SPF 15 is simply too low. For me in Australia it's simply not high enough and I do find it annoying that I need to layer SPF 50+ sunscreen on top of this instead of the product being an all in one solution for me.
Date published: 2024-10-20
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Mixed feelings [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The container on the day cream is interesting and unique as it has a pump and it is soft and squeezable. It has a thick texture and you do have to also squeeze the tube to get the pump to expel the cream. A little goes a long way with this cream. It does have a strange smell that lingers for a little while on your face and hands but after some time I didn’t notice it and it went away. Although it felt thick to put on, it does settle and feels lightweight after half an hour or so. It takes some time to sink in so that is a bit of an issue when putting make up over the top. I would like this to have a bit more SPF in it to make it worth it as I don’t wear make up all the time or wear other products with SPF in them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Needs a higher SPF [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product was nice feeling and did feel hydrating, however, being SPF 15 only was a major downside for me. It is not enough to be classified as a sunscreen, and is not sufficient to not be used in conjunction with another sunscreen. In the mornings, time is poor and I love a multi use product, so if this was a higher SPF, then I would be sold. However, in its current state I would not purchase. The multi action of this product means it fights lines whilst also hydrating and plumping, and it did do these things. However, I feel using a different product underneath a sunscreen would have a similar effect. Overall, I am not unimpressed but would much rather see a higher SPF in a product on Australian shelves, when the importance of daily SPF is so critical.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not my favourite I got to try the Cetaphil Healthy Renew day cream spf15 alongside a few of their other products. The packaging is nice and fit for purpose and the range is quite appealing. whilst I haven’t experienced any particular issues with this day cream, this is probably my least favourite of the range. First of all, spf15 in Australia is not enough, so you get the disadvantages of an spf product (slightly greasy finish + subtle white cast) AND you need to layer a proper sunscreen on top. I haven’t felt a significant improvement of my skin though since using the range but it might require more time.
