I rated this 4/5 only because it can only be used on damp hair, and I personally love a serum that can be used after a wash and on dry hair during the week for little touch ups. The serum is not to thick and not to watery so it can easily be controlled how much comes out and be user defined. I have long hair and I found that two full pumps were great for adding to the lengths of my hair whilst still damp. I didn't feel that it gave much shine but it definitely helped to smooth my flyaway's! I even used a tiny amount when my hair was dry to give a nice polished look without the need to use hairspray. The scent in this was subtle but stayed inline with the rest of the range.

One thing I did notice, and I don't know if it's the shampoo, conditioner, serum or something completely unrelated but since using these products my hair has had some static to it. Not enough to stop me using them but enough to notice and have to put another oil or something through to calm the static. Still overall I'm quite happy with the serum and the whole Lamellar Shine range and will probably continue to use it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not very helpful for curly hair [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have curly hair, so I was curious a d a bit sceptical trying this 'Lamellar Shine' TRESemme collection, because I don't normally blow dry my hair, unless I have an event or it's too cold. I noticed that while shampooing (Step No.1), my hair felt very soft straight away, particularly near the roots. Following with conditioner (Step No.2), my hair got extra smooth. Soooo smooth that I noticed my curls were not as curly anymore, even before rinsing it. I then applyied the leave-in serum (Step No.3), modelling the curls. It definitely made my hair softer. I am not sure about shining or 'Salon' effect though, as I did not blow dry. I also noted my curls were loose and not very well formed. Which I guess it's the exact effect if you want to blow dry your hair. I can imagine how easier it would be for me to straighten my hair after 'Lamellar Shine' ceramide complex. But if you plan on keeping your curls well defined, it may not be the best option for you. It's very, very soft though!

It may seem silly, but that is important to me. Next up: the smell taste. It smells amazing, like a cross between a sandy beach and a flowery field. The product itself is not oily at all, which was a surprise. It is very watery, which is good, because oily products are horrible for my very fine, thinning hair. I used this with and without washing my hair first. It worked amazingly. However, when I use this product, I did need to wash my hair sooner because of the buildup of the product over time (but that is always the case with leave in serums for my very thin hair). I think this would not be the case if you have a normal hair thickness. Plus, it was worth it to have shiny, non-frizzy, very healthy looking hair. Overall, I recommend this product! Even for the fine-haired (vegan) ladies like myself.

The leave-in cream serum is quite liquidy and isn't sticky. My hair is wavy and always frizzy and the ends always feel very dry and overall quite crunchy - this made the ends feel much softer and my curls WAY more defined. I don't feel like it weighs my hair down but I only use it on the lengths of my hair. It's a very light product with only mild fragrance. It's a lovely product but I'm not sure I noticed a big difference between when I tried using it with the other products in the range and when I tried without - but I'm also not using heat tools, besides occasionally blow-drying. For the length of my hair I don't think the bottle would last very long and for the amount of difference I saw, I'm not sure I'd buy it often given that the shampoo and conditioner made such a difference on their own, unless my hair started needing more protection and care. Overall, it's a lovely product and as far as serums go, it's really nice.

Not a strong fragrance which is good for those sensitive to smells. It is easy to apply in a measured dose with the pump. The number 3 on the front on the label makes it clear when to apply in your care routine. The packaging of black and gold makes it a very attractive product to have in your bathroom. There are clear instructions on the back and also as an added bonus a QR code for additional tips and tricks.
