Rated 4 out of 5 by from Surprising good! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really quite impressed with the Revlon Illuminance Moisturiser and Prime Balm Primer. Prior to this, I had no tried a primer in balm form so it was a different experience scraping a bit of product out of the pot, warming it between my fingers before applying to the face. Personally, I would prefer different packaging so that the balm stays more hygienic. The balm has a light texture when applied and a soft scent. It left my skin feeling smooth, hydrated and I found my makeup applied on top sat well. I didn’t find that this primer was particularly illuminising compared to my other primers but I do think this primer is great for those with skin on the drier side.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Product [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using the Revlon Illuminance™ Balm Primer for a little while now, and overall, I have mixed feelings about it. Packaging & Application The packaging is sleek and compact, making it easy to carry around. I like that it comes in a twist-up balm format—it’s convenient and mess-free. However, I did find that applying it directly from the stick could tug on the skin a little, so I prefer to warm it up on my fingers before smoothing it on. Texture & Feel The texture is lightweight and non-greasy, which is great for everyday use. It absorbs quickly and does leave the skin feeling soft and smooth. However, if you have oily skin, you might find that it adds a bit more shine than you’d like. For dry skin types, the extra hydration could be a plus. Performance Under Makeup As a primer, it does a decent job of creating a smooth base, but I didn’t notice a huge improvement in how long my makeup lasted. It works well under lightweight foundations, but if you use a heavier or matte formula, it might not grip as well. Scent & Finish There’s no overpowering scent, which I appreciate. The finish is dewy, which is lovely for a natural glow, but if you prefer a matte look, you may need to set it with powder. Final Thoughts This primer is best suited for those with dry to normal skin who like a dewy finish. If you have oily skin or need long-wear performance, this might not be the best option. I wouldn’t call it a must-have, but it’s a nice option if you’re looking for a hydrating primer with a balm texture. Would I repurchase? Probably not, but I can see it working for certain skin types. Would I recommend it? Yes, but mainly for those with dry skin who like a luminous base.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A fabulous primer [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a 2-in1 skin enhancing primer with the benefits of a moisturiser to soften, smooth and hydrate the skin for makeup application. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lovely primer [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I loved the idea of this primer when I first heard of it and it didn’t disappoint. Firstly it comes in a lovely jar which gives a nice luxe feel. The product itself has a thicker texture which is very easy to blend into the face. It blends out and doesn’t leave any white l cast. I haven’t found it to be over illuminating at all just a subtle glow which I like. It works well as a primer and helps my makeup to stay on throughout the day. I haven’t had any issues with pilling at all. It is quite moisturising and leaves the skin hydrated also. Would recommend to anyone looking for an affordable hydrating base!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best smelling primer [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was not happy with my current primer as it was causing it to ball up and not provide a nice clean and smooth base for my makeup so getting to try this new Revlon illuminance primer couldn’t have come at a better time. First off the packaging is incredibly cute and looks a bit high end in a nice white, see through/glass like container. It’s great for keeping at home but it adds a lot of unnecessary weight if you were planning to travel with it. I was really surprised at how nice it smelled! I had never come across a primer with any smell before and I’m a big fan of this citrus flavour. It was easy to put on, it almost felt like a spongey cloud. I know it says it is a moisturiser as well but I have still continued to use my regular one because it has SPF. I left it about 5 mins to sink in before putting on my foundation/BB cream. I felt like it did help to keep my make up intact, especially in the Sydney heat and humidity. Because its so airy, I feel like I used quite a bit in such a small container so I think potentially it wouldn’t last that long.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Luxurious and effective [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Revlon Illuminance Moisture + Primer is an amazing product. It absorbed into my skin well and didn’t leave it feeling or looking greasy which I don’t like. The scent of the product is mild with a slight citrusy tone. The consistency is very light not thick and creamy which is what you want for full adsorption. The container is simple but luxurious looking. I highly recommend trying this product if your looking for a new primer that not only moisturises your skin but prepares it for make up application

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fast Absorbing Primer [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first opened the Revlon Illuminance Balm Primer, I struggled with getting the product out as it was a thick jelly-like consistency. However, when I did get the product out, I was pleasantly surprised by how nice and smooth it went onto my skin. The primer absorbed quickly into the skin without leaving a sticky residue, it was hydrating and it was a nice base underneath my makeup. My makeup lasted throughout the day. The primer has a citrus scent that isn't too overpowering. As for packaging, I prefer a squeeze bottle instead of a pot but that is personal preference.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love it [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Revlon Illuminance Balm Primer is a great product! It glides on smoothly, providing hydration and a soft, radiant glow without being too shiny. It helps makeup stay in place all day without feeling heavy or greasy. While it works beautifully for dry to normal skin, it may be a bit too dewy for those with oily skin. The packaging also looks cuter cute in my shelf! Overall, it’s a great primer that enhances makeup wear and leaves the skin looking fresh and luminous. I highly recommend it for a natural, glowing finish!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for dry skin [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really liked how smoothly the balm-like texture glides on the skin despite being thick. The product feels soft and hydrating without absorbing too fast, which I like. It is great for dry skin and gives a natural glow without feeling heavy or greasy. The product itself has a light citrusy fragrance which is refreshing and not too overbearing at all. The balm definitely helped in making my makeup apply flawlessly and last longer. However I wasn’t a huge fan of the container. The product has a thick buttery texture and it’s a bit awkward to scoop out using a finger.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Such a Nice Product! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really enjoyed using this product! I have quite oily skin so I don't tend to moisturise before I put primer/foundation on. It usually feels tacky and my skin doesn't like the copious layers and it doesn't mix well with the oil. This product is such a nice alternative! I haven't tried a balm primer before so I was a bit skeptical, but I really enjoyed using it. I found that I used less product than I normally would with liquid primers (and moisturisers) so this tub will last a while. My skin was hydrated without it causing extra oil and my foundation sat so nicely on top. The jar is glass which feels luxe and it smells like fresh oranges, which I LOVE. If you're like me and you often skip moisturiser if you're putting on primer/foundation then this product is perfect. I'd absolutely recommend it to a friend!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Improves make up longevity [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a moisturiser, this balm does an excellent job of hydrating and nourishing my skin. I have combination skin with dry patches around my cheeks and an oily T-zone, so I was initially concerned about whether it would be too rich for me. However, it strikes the perfect balance—it deeply moisturises without making my skin feel greasy. After application, my skin feels soft, plump, and smooth. Some moisturising primers tend to sit on top of the skin, leaving a tacky or sticky residue, but this one melts in beautifully, creating a hydrated yet non-greasy base. As a primer, this balm is effective at prepping the skin for makeup. It creates a smooth, even canvas that helps foundation glide on effortlessly. I noticed that it helps blur minor imperfections, such as pores and fine lines, giving my skin a more airbrushed finish. That said, the balm itself wasn’t easy to get out the jar and always got stuck under my nails. I wish it was easier to get the right amount such as with a spatular. It’s rare to find a product that nourishes the skin while also improving makeup longevity, but this one does both.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great primer [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I don't usually use primer but was sent this to review. I really liked this product. It was easy to apply, felt really nice on my skin and gave me a nice glow. It sitts well underneath my foundation too. It feels like a great quality primer without an insane price tag. I have sensitive skin and didn't have any issues with this. It felt reasonably moisturising. I would definitely use this primer again. I don't like scented products and this didn't have much of a scent which is great too. I'd certainly recommend this primer if you want a nice glow

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have combo/oily skin and this is recommended as a two in one. I find it's great at creating a soft canvas for foundation and it is moisturising, however it's not hydrating enough on a deeper level. So I like to use a serum like Hyalauronic acid first, I would suggest following your usual skincare routine and incorporate this last. I would apply sunscreen, I would then follow makeup routine. This is a nice emollient base to start makeup routine with as it gives the skin a tacky feeling and something for foundation to stick to well enough to last throughout the day. This has a nice citrusy smell and the texture is velvety smooth once applied melts into skin. A pleasure to use and an extra bonus that skincare loving ingredients are in a makeup based primer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Texture was unusual but good [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First of all I was shocked by the texture of this product, it was very dense like a sponge. However, once I realised its texture it wasn’t bad at all. It does make it a little harder to remove from the container compared to other products but It spreads very nicely. It also has a nice but not over baring scent. I’m not much of a make up person so I can’t compare it to many other products but I did find it worked well. And was effective for what it is needed/ what it is designed to do. It wasn’t oily or greasy at all. I would recommend this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fresh [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first went to try this primer the jelly consistency threw me off, it didn’t feel like a normal primer! It was bouncy! It felt weird to have to dig my finger in to get the product out but it melted quickly into a nice consistency and into my skin. The citrus scent is nice, different to most skincare / primers. Almost awakening in the morning. My makeup sat well on top of the primer and blended nicely with other products. It gave a nice matte feel to my skin whilst still providing some illuminating glow. Didn’t feel oily or gross throughout the day

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Glowy skin [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This primer gave me an amazing glow! My colleagues and friends were mentioning how nice my skin looked when I was wearing it. The smell of the citrus was so nice when putting it on. Skin didn’t feel greasy or bad after hours of use. It felt like I wasn’t wearing a primer but more of a skin serum/balm that was good for me. The tricky part was getting the balm out of the container for use, especially first use. It’s quite jelly almost and hard to swipe up. I would definitely buy again, especially at the price point.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Glow-Up Your Makeup Routine Needs [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Revlon Illuminance Balm Primer is a game-changer in the world of skincare and makeup. With its luxurious texture and stunning results, this product has become a staple in my beauty routine. From the moment I applied it, I was impressed by its smooth, creamy consistency. It glides onto the skin effortlessly, creating a soft and silky base that feels both hydrating and soothing. One of the standout features of this primer is its illuminating effect. It gives the skin a subtle, radiant glow without being too shiny or sparkly. It’s a perfect base for any makeup look, from a natural everyday glow to a more glamorous evening look. The formula blends beautifully and instantly brightens my complexion, leaving it looking fresh and luminous. The packaging is sleek and practical, making it easy to apply the product without making a mess. The balm itself is lightweight and absorbs quickly into the skin, so there’s no waiting around for it to dry or settle. Plus, a little goes a long way, so the product lasts quite a while. Overall, the Revlon Illuminance Balm Primer is a must-have for anyone looking for a primer that hydrates, illuminates, and creates a smooth canvas for makeup. It offers an ideal balance between luminosity and longevity, making it perfect for both everyday wear and special occasions. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to elevate their makeup routine with a product that delivers impressive results at an affordable price. You said: Rewrite the review to be less formal ChatGPT said: The Revlon Illuminance Balm Primer is seriously a game-changer in my beauty routine. From the first use, I was hooked. The texture is super smooth and creamy, and it blends into the skin so easily, leaving it feeling soft and hydrated. It feels really nice and refreshing on the skin, almost like a little treat. What I love the most is how it gives my skin a natural, subtle glow. It’s not overly shiny or glittery, just a beautiful, healthy radiance that makes my skin look fresh and awake. Whether I’m going for a casual, no-makeup look or something more glam, this primer has my back. Another huge win is how well it holds up throughout the day. Even though it’s hydrating, it doesn’t make my skin greasy, and my makeup stays put all day long. My foundation goes on way smoother and looks more even, and it helps blur out pores, which is always a plus. It definitely makes my makeup look flawless and lasts longer. This primer is also super versatile. It works with so many different foundations, whether they’re light or full coverage. No matter what I use on top, my makeup doesn’t separate or fade—it just stays looking fresh. The packaging is sleek and easy to use, and you don’t need a lot to get the job done, so this tube lasts a while. Plus, it doesn’t take forever to absorb, which is great when you're in a hurry. All in all, I can’t recommend the Revlon Illuminance Balm Primer enough. It hydrates, gives a gorgeous glow, and keeps my makeup looking flawless. It’s a must-have for anyone wanting to take their makeup to the next level without breaking the bank.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hydrating and Lovely [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The packaging for this is lovely - very sleek and heavy, it feels luxurious. I have normal/dry skin, and I found this to be surprisingly hydrating - not just superficially glowy. I did use this as my moisturiser on days I used it, and then added a sunscreen. The texture of the product was strange in the tub, almost bouncy and doughy, but it melted into the skin quite well - the balm description is quite accurate. It also soaked in quickly, I wasn't waiting a long time between this and other products. I did not experience any issues with pilling, which is my main concern with products of this very smooth almost siliconey texture. I don't know that my makeup applied any smoother with this, but I did notice I looked less matte overall without looking shiny or greasy, which I really enjoyed. It smells like oranges too, which was a pleasant surprise. Using this really reminded me of a discontinued Innisfree vitamin C brightening cream I used to love because of the smell and texture. I'll definitely continue using this and finish the tub, but I'm not sure if I would repurchase - I don't think it will be hydrating enough for Winter, but is just right for summer - I would recommend it to someone with normal skin.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good primer that feels a little luxurious [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I found this product to have quite a luxurious feel to it. It smells nice and sits really nicely on my skin. It feels very lightweight and sinks in well and leaves a slight glow. The texture is pretty cool, almost squishy! i have normal-dry skin and my usual skin care routine with moisturizer before make up application does a very similar job so while i do enjoy the product I'm unsure if its something i will use regularly (particularly in the warmer months). In colder months i can see this being more of a staple product for me as i really like the nice glow it gives to your skin without it looking oily. I would absolutely recommend giving it a go as i do feel it is a great product however i am still on the fence about it becoming a regular purchase for me at this stage.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Smooth primer with matte finish! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really enjoyed using this product, it’s still early days as I’ve only been using it for a week but positive results so far. The texture is non greasy and gives a really even and smooth coverage. I’ve found my foundation blends a lot nicer and gives me a longer wear throughout the day without going patchy or having to touch up. The scent was something I got used to, I tend to opt for non fragrance but found this scent pleasant and not overpowering- felt fresh when applying. Only small feedback would be to include a spatula so it’s easier to get product out. I have nails so a spatula is very handy and more hygienic for me. Overall great primer- would use again!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great product but need a scooping spoon! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a great primer for under makeup. The smell is divine and the texture is incredible, it brightens skin and is super fast absorbing with no extreme tacky after feel on the skin. My makeup definitely stays put for a lot longer with no creasing (which was a big issue for me before) and looks great after using this. I paired it with my Revlon foundation which was the perfect combo. I would recommend this to anyone who wants the feeling of a luxe primer for a decent price. One thing I disliked a lot however was the container, it feels dirty that I needed to dig my nails into the pot to get the product out. This product would be 5/5 if they provided a little spoon to scoop out the product with.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Luxe Hydration with a Citrus Twist [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been trying out the Revlon Illuminance Balm Primer for about a week now, and honestly, it's pretty impressive in several ways. First off, it's super hydrating—perfect for my combo skin that's starting to lean more towards dry these days. The texture has this lovely melt-into-your-skin feel that makes it a joy to apply. Even the packaging screams luxury, adding that little touch of pampering to my routine. The citrus scent is a nice perk for me, though it's definitely on the stronger side, so might not be everyone's cup of tea, especially if you're sensitive to fragrances in your skincare products. What's cool about this primer is that it doubles up as a decent moisturizer on its own. On days I skip makeup, it still leaves my skin feeling soft and prepped. While I do like this product, I'd hesitate to grab it at full price. However, if you spot it on sale, it could be worth considering, especially if your skin needs that extra boost of hydration.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Orange? [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Would you purchase the New Illuminance Balm Primer? No. I didn’t LOVE it. Was the packaging/applicator easy to use? Do you like this format? Yes. I liked the glass container. It felt luxe. I liked when I opened the lid it felt plush and jellyish. I felt rough digging my finger in and ruining it but it melted nicely in my warm hands. Was this primer hydrating and nourishing for the skin? It was yes BUT Did this primer give you a dewy, glowy finish? No. It didn’t. I felt hydrated sure. For a small amount of time but I didn’t feel glowy, matte or dewy. What did I love? The smell 🥰 it was a citrusy, orange smell and it was a nice surprise.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Didn’t do it for me [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a nice product, easy to apply and I enjoyed the citrus smell. However, I did not notice any improvements in my skin or my makeup’s final look. I was surprised considering the Illuminance skin tint has quite literally become my favourite product ever - so I did have high hopes for this one. I tried it just as a moisturiser, then with the skin tint and also with different coverage of foundation. This wasn’t anything revolutionary and really didn’t leave a lasting impression. Pro: the scent, easy to rub in Con: left me feeling a little tacky, no visible differences

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Underwhelming [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very interesting product for me. I have a very flaky dry skin and even glowy skin tint looks like the land thirsty for rain. I was so excited for this product but unfortunately, it was underwhelming for me. It has a very faint scent which is good. The texture itself feels nice and hydrating. However, i feel like it just sits on top of the skin and does not get absorbed much. It feels heavy on the skin and my skin tint still flaked. The packaging too is a bit difficult. I have a bit of long nails and have to dig into it. I would imagine how wouldnit be when i use it more and would have to dig into the tiny opening of the bottle.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beautiful finish [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really think this product would be perfect for someone who has more normal to oily skin. My skin is slightly dry and I felt like I had to keep layering on this product to reach the level of hydration that was comfortable for me. That being said, the finish of the primer was amazing and it sat really nicely under my makeup, was very smooth and very flawless. Big points for the product packaging. It felt really luxe and really nice. The citrus scent was also really pleasant. I did feel like it could have been a little bit too strong for some people but I don't mind it honestly. Overall it is a good product. I'm happy to keep using it. I just need to layer it a lot more. It has a really nice finish regardless, and I might use this alongside a moisturiser instead of just using this as a primer and a moisturiser.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fresh, Fun, But Not Quite Glowy! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had high hopes for the Revlon Illuminance Balm Primer. First, let me say the citrus scent is a huge win, it’s fresh and uplifting, and I loved how it made my morning routine feel a little more luxurious. The texture also impressed me; it glided onto my skin easily, which was super satisfying. Unfortunately, as someone with dry skin, I didn't get the glowing, hydrated feel I was hoping for. After a few hours, I noticed my face felt a bit dry and tight, which was disappointing. It definitely leans more toward a matte finish, and while that might work for oily skin types, it didn’t quite hit the mark for my dry complexion. My skin wasn't as illuminated as I expected, and by midday, I was in need of some extra moisture. Overall, it's a solid primer for oily or combo skin, but for dry skin like mine, it might fall a little short. It does the job but doesn't quite deliver the glow I was hoping for!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not for the oily gals [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the whole presentation of the primer. Displayed in a jar, it feels like you’re using a luxury skin care product. The texture feels sort of putty like but once warm up, it is easily spread across the skin with a very pleasant citrus scent. I did not feel that it was an effective primer as it felt like it just sat on top of my skin. Being an oily skin type of gal, I was not recommend for fellow greasy goddesses but the dryer skinned lasses might have a better result as this did not suit my skin type.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for dry skin, avoid for combo/oily skin [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Any product that can make my makeup routine easier is always a win for me! The hydrating primer removed the need for my regular moisturiser (which as we all know, the more products you apply, the more likely they’re not going to all play nice together). It’s a smooth formula that spreads easily and leaves your skin feeling hydrated. I found that for short periods of time (going out for brunch or seeing a gig at night) it held up really well and kept my makeup looking fresh. However I found for all-day wear, it didn’t stand the test of time and my makeup became patchy around midday as my combo skin started to get a little oily. Even when trying to reapply makeup during the day to fix it (which ideally we wouldn’t need to), it didn’t have the same adhesion to the additional makeup that it did in the morning. I also wasn’t a fan of the jar it comes in because it’s extremely difficult to get the product out of the jar without messing up your nails. I’d recommend if they want to stick to the jar format, they need to include a small product spatula in the box too. I had high hopes for this and there were some benefits but would only recommend to those who have dry skin because any oiliness during the day will cause your makeup to slip.
