Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best you will find! This is quiet literally the BEST lip balm I have ever tried! It's super moisturizing on my dry and chapped lips yet also feels very natural, lightweight and non-sticky/irritating. A little goes a long well - I've been using the same jar for about 3-4 months now (with everyday use). I can generally use this without my lips drying out for another 4 or 5 hours, much better then any other product I've used. I'm disappointed that I wasted my money on other brands and products when all along this incredibly effective and affordable lip balm by Carmex was around! :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Have lip balm, will travel! I've been using this product for well over 10 years now and I've got to say, this little pot of gold is my "desert island essential" product! Although this isn't as natural as I would like, I've tried other natural lip balms out there & none of them moisturise & protect/prevent my lips from chapping for as long as this does. I quite like the tingle/burn it gives my lips - it isn't harsh on me, which is great for my sensitive skin. It also manages to keep my lips fairly smooth as well, probably due to the salicylic acid contained in the product. My lips get chapped all too easily if I don't have a pot of this around somewhere. I have 2, sometimes 3 pots on the go at once - one in my handbag, one at home and one spare. I have run out before whilst overseas & despaired at my forgetfulness to pack a back-up pot! (Also ended up with badly chapped lips from licking them too.) My only gripe is that there is a difference in price, depending on where you shop - some places can charge over $6 for this, whereas Chemist Warehouse tends to keep it around the $4-$5 mark (hence why I buy it there!). I'm not too bothered by the smell, nor the fact that it is in a pot, even though it's a bit un-hygienic. This is an absolute MUST HAVE for me and hopefully it will be for you too - I just can't live without it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely! Firstly, I love the smell of this product! A really minty menthol smelling lip balm which is right up my street. The lip balm itself is brilliant! I apply it before bed and whenever I need it throughout the day and it quickly transforms my ugly chapped and sore lips to beautifully soft lips. The product is a good price which won't break the bank, however, I have noticed some places charge more for this than others, but this is not by a significant amount (usually £1 or so). The packaging is sturdy and is the perfect little size for any handbag, desk or drawer.

If i didn't have this product i'd be lost because I have extremely dry lips and it's the only product that seems able to moisturise it. It's needed in every person's handbag!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Lip Balm EVER Although I am not entirely keen on the smell (strong menthol, tastes like dirt...) this lip balm is the one I swear by! I apply it every night before going to bed and always wake up with supple lips and absolutely no dry cracky skin. It is such a bargain and the jar honestly lasts absolutely ages. It is a great rich, thick balm that isn't slippery so it doesn't come of easily, rather really penetrates the lips and conditions deeply. The tingling sensation is very refreshing and great in winter for giving your lips a plumper, fuller effect. Could not recommend this enough and only wish they came out with this formula in coloured balms!

I've tried so many other lip balms: Nivea, Maybelline Baby Lips, Paw Paw Ointments, even those not-so-well-known ones, but at the end of the day, I will always go back to Carmex. Not only do I feel that Carmex lip balm moisturises my dry and chapped lips effectively, it also leaves my lips feeling more plump and nourished from the harsh weather conditions. It's scent is a bonus too - I love the smell, and judging by the continuous stream of compliments from others, so do they. If anything, I would recommend anyone to try Carmex lip balm - it's that good.

I try new lip balms all the time but when my lips are chapped and super dry through winter, Carmex never fails me. I love the tingle you get when it's applied, and the moisturising properties are amazing. Especially great for overnight use.

Honestly it is so nourishing on the lips and I suffer from the worst chapped lips out, this works. Doesn't leave a tint, makes lips nourished as well as appear fuller due to the nourishing properties! You can't not be satisfied with this price, great product!

I normally shy away due to the hygiene factor but I have been using it several times a day for a few months now and it has been fine. My lips are loving it and it gives it a very natural gloss and the tingly sensation is rather nice :) I wish it came in a chap stick format!!

I really dislike the usual fruity lip balm taste that seems to linger until I subconsciously lick all the balm off. What a waste! So Carmex was right up my alley - it initially leaves a slight taste on the lips but it quickly disappears as the tingly sensation kicks in. I love that tingle as much as I love the smell, it reminds me of Vicks! I also know that I can rely on Carmex to last much longer than fruity balms and to keep my lips moisturised in the cooler months. It's one of those awesome products that you keep extras of everywhere, so you're never without it.

It is not appealing at first to the general consumer considering its packaging and scent. Carmex lip balms are medicated and are very different to your typical fruity lipbalms. Despite that the product is great. The formula is very thick and not sheer compared to other lipbalms like babylips so it stays on for longer, although it is not advertised as a long lasting lipbalm. After application there is a slight tingling effect which indicates that it is doing wonders to your chapped lips. This lipbalm provides the best protection and healing. BUY IT TODAY

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best in Beauty 2012 - Holy Grail Lip Balm I cannot fault the Carmex lip balm. For years I have relied on this lip balm to keep my lips smooth and moisturised. The carmex lip balm comes in a pot with a twist-off lid that is tightly secured. The balm itself is a waxy texture that is yellow in colour. The waxy texture of the balm allows the product to glide on easily to the skin which leaves my lips feeling smoother from the start. The texture of the lip balm also allows the product to absorb into the lips well which really, getting deep into the layers of the lip area. This is great as I find that some other lip balms sit on the surface of the lips which is not effective in improving hydration of the lip area. Each time I apply the Carmex lip balm, I experience the unique tingling sensation that it provides. This is because the balm is enriched with menthol to soothe and cool the lips. The lip balm also contains camphor, a base of cocoa butter, and various waxes to help moisturise the lips. A unique feature of the Carmex lip balm is that it includes salicylic acid which has the aim of mildly exfoliating and refining the lip area. This is great as it helps to remove flaky and dry bits of skin on the lips. During the colder months especially, this lip balm becomes my holy grail product. My lips easily become dry, chapped and cracked in the winter months, and while I have tried many other lip balms on the market, none compare to Carmex. Within a few hours of applying a generous amount to the lips, they are left smoother and healthier. This lip balm also acts as a great barrier to the harsh elements when worn. I will never be without a pot of Carmex in my bag or by my bedside table to keep my lips in top condition. The only minor downside I can find to this lip balm is its scent. It has a strange medicinal smell but it wears off after I apply it to my lips so it is not too much of a concern. Definitely recommend.

I have been using this product since i was a little girl - i recently travelled overseas and this was the first item i packed - it is fantastic for chapped, cracked sore lips - it also helped me when i had my first cold sore a year ago - it is great to help blend lipliners and make a lippy sheer and is definitely suitable whilst in colder temperatures - the smell has never been the best - BUT in saying that i now can't live without it . i still can't live without it and i still use it everyday - it's just one of those trustworthy products you just know will always work

BECAUSE IT IS A TRUELY GUTSY PRODUCT.It gives lips great sun protection (thanks spf),mixes with lip colour to gloss it up and protect lips,works like a charm to tame unruly eyebrows in a pinch (yep,iv,e done that) AND I,LL TELL YOU A SECRET....mix it with your powder blush,or a lipcolour and apply to apples of your cheeks....it makes a GREAT cream blush for winter (and in an absolute pinch,i have used a touch on flyaway hair ends....it works.PS:IT,S ALSO NOT A BAD LIP BALM.

The tingly feeling soothes soreness from the cracked lips and moisturises really well..<br />for some reason, to me this smells like those lifesaver musks, so if you hate the smell of musk, you might want to stay away. This is a great everyday lip moisturiser, i usually apply before any lip colour and throughout the day for that nice tingling sensation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great basic lip balm! I have a lip balm fixation and decided to finally try Carmex after years of seeing it and wondering what it was like. I actually wasn't expecting anything great, but I have been pleasantly surprised - it is a great basic lip balm which is true to its claims There are many lip balms which claim to soothe and heal chapped lips and I am happy to say that Carmex lives up to these claims. Within 15 minutes of application my lips are so much smoother and moisturised, the 'flakiness' of my lips is almost non-existent. I also find it blends in to my lips well, and doesn't leave them waxy or overly sticky I wasn't too sure about the pot packaging, but I actually like it. It seems to be a product which is better to apply with fingers than an applicator Overall, I am really impressed with this one! It moisturisers and seems to exfoliate a little, and I can easily see why it has been a staple for many people for so many years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Repurchase For Life! Holy Grail of lip balm! I have been using this product religiously since I first purchased it, which was anyone's guess how long ago. I use it everyday and I barely use any other lip product now. On of my most favourite things about this product is that it's product description offered by Carmex is absolutely on cue, it does everything that the company says it does, which definitely results in me raving about it to anyone who catches me putting it on whenever I have a spare moment. Even boys I know how have gotten sunburnt or chapped lips I forced them to put this stuff on and they were much happier chaps. Now a jar in their footy and gym bags.
