But I only use it once a day at night (in the morning I use a regular toothpaste). Maybe if I used it both day and night I'd see a difference...? For a Whitening toothpaste, the taste is really good!

My teeth use to be awful due to my braces, but stumbling over this product has helped keep the 'yellowness' away. I feel much more confident about smiling than i did before, but it would be better if it was whiter in a short amount of time.

The product was pleasant enough to use but I didn't find it that effective at whitening your teeth . I think it would work well for people that have staining from drinking tea , coffee , red wine . But for someone that doesn't , it didn't have a marked result . The product itself is generous in its size and comes in a user friendly package. But I wouldn't buy it again.

My teeth are quite badly stained, being an ex smoker, but I actually noticed a difference after a couple of weeks of using it. It has a warm sensation when you first start brushing which took a bit of getting used to and also it isnt the best tasting toothpaste around, but if it works I can overlook the taste! Ive actually purchased this after my sample ran out and will carry on using it as the results are the best ive had with a whitening product.

The whold dental ingredient thing got me excited but it dodnt show serious results. When you brush, its got that over minty taste,which i dont like. My teeth only went like one shade whiter so ill be defintly going back to my whitening treatments!

I am 25 years and I think my teeth have the normal yellow tinge as someone my age. I never expected miracles and certainly it didn't deliver miracles. I can't tell if my teeth have gone any shades whiter or even if it did, the effect is not blatantly apparent. I only brushed my teeth twice a day though...morning and night. I do like the way it tastes though...it gives your mouth and teeth a thoroughly clean and refreshing feel to it. It foams up well and has a nice minty taste and scent. It's a great performing toothpaste!

It was eye catching and very easy for once to find the toothpaste! I liked the taste and found it freshened my breathe. I did feel after nearly a month, my teeth were Infact a shade or 2 whiter, which is super. One thing I did notice though, and I have never experienced this with a toothpaste before. When I licked my teeth, they felt hairy and thick, almost like they had a furry coating. This was highly unusual, and definitely not pleasant. It made me think I had food on my teeth, when I did not, and this would make me think twice about using it again, as my teeth always feel so clean after brushing with other Colgate toothpastes. I use an electric toothbrush twice a day and they always feel great. So great taste, result and look of the packaging, but the coating on the teeth was highly undesirable. Apart from that I really loved it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Whitening results vary depending on the colour of your teeth [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Although my teeth have always been fairly white, I was excited to try the product and see how well it worked on me. My husband also used the toothpaste. I have been using Colgate Optic twice a day for the past 4 weeks and I can see that my teeth have slightly whitened – probably not by 4 shades, but by 1 shade. My husband's teeth after four weeks have brightened considerably – so the results probably depend on how white your teeth already are. The toothpaste tastes and feels quite clinical, like something you would use at the dentists. The taste is quite pleasant, although I do prefer the colgate total taste and feeling. I don't have sensitive teeth so it didn't cause any issues with brushing. After using the product, my breath was fresh and clean. While I do like the slight whitening effects of the toothpaste, personally I still prefer the taste and freshness of colgate total. My overall star rating for the product is 3 out of 5 stars.

I can see how some people might not like the taste. I agree it does taste a bit stronger than my current toothpaste, but at the same time I like how fresh it leaves my teeth and breathe after use and meets the requirements of standard toothpaste. The first time I used it, I didn't like how it frothed up so quickly and so much, but after a while, I got used to it. I do get conscious of the ingredients of the products I use, so I'm not sure how comfortable I felt with having hydrogen peroxide in my mouth, since I associate it with what they use to bleach hair. I drink a lot of tea every day. Over a 4 week period, I only noticed a small change and whitening of my teeth and not as much as I was hoping for when I read about the toothpaste or fast acting for results. I think over the longer term, I might change back to my previous toothpaste.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Whitening without the sensitivity [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I found this product no different to regular toothpastes I use and the taste, in my opinion was quite pleasant, particularly when compared to some other teeth whitening products I've used. I've used it for the past four weeks twice a day using my electric Oral B toothbrush and after comparing before and after shots I took I can say that my teeth (and oddly my gums?) do look a few shades lighter. I was quite impressed with how squeaky clean my teeth felt after using it each time and it definitely improved the overall freshness of my mouth. It was easy to use, with a clip top lid (I can't stand cheap-o screw off caps on toothpaste!!) and a small amount goes a long way. Of course it's not going to give you a drastic improvement like having your teeth professionally whitened, but as an everyday product with continued use I'm sure you would see improvement in the shade of your teeth. I'm happy to report that one of my main concerns with regards to using any whitening product was sensitivity. But after continued use of the Colgate Optic White I didn't find this was an issue which was a relief.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Slight whitening effect [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used the Colgate Optic White toothpaste 2-3 times day for the last 4 weeks. My teeth do look slightly whiter, although the whitening effect is not dramatic, although I didn't expect it to be. I have not stopped drinking tea or Diet Coke, which probably contribute to the yellowness of my teeth. I think if I continue to use it, the whitening effect will increase. The taste is OK, it is similar to other whitening toothpastes but you can taste the slight peroxide taste. The one down side of the Colgate Optic White (and other whitening toothpastes I've tried for that matter) is that I find it doesn't clean teeth as well as other regular toothpastes, eg. Colgate Total, which I normally use. I feel I need to brush longer to get the same level of clean. For that reason I'm not sure I would buy it again after I have finished the current tube. After brushing , my mouth did feel quite fresh.

This product came in a paper box and is packaged in an 110g metallic red squeezable tube. It is very easy to use. I like its big flip cap design allowing me to stand it upright. It creates a slight gentle warmth effect during the first few seconds of brushing onto the teeth. I like that it does not taste overly minty or make my lips feel spicy afterwards. It leaves my mouth feeling comfortable and clean. It contains the same whitening ingredients that dentists use but in a low strength of 1% hydrogen peroxide making it an ideal daily whitening toothpaste. It does not feel abrasive or create teeth sensitivity for me. After 4 weeks of trial, my teeth appeared brighter but not enough I could tell whiter. I understand whitening toothpaste is a very slow and gradual whitening process, and cannot replace a teeth-whitening job done by a professional dentist therefore I didn't expect miraculous whitening results. I will continue to use up my trial tube and hope to see a bit more visible results by using it for a further period of time. It may be more suited for someone who only has slightly discoloured teeth and prefers gradual whitening.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Squeaky clean teeth [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As per the requirements, I have been using Colgate Optic White twice daily for the past month and the results have been good. Housed in a bold red 110g tube, this toothpaste contains a special whitening ingredient which dentists use, but with a much lower strength formula that's gentle enough for daily use. I have slightly yellow and somewhat sensitive teeth so I needed a whitening toothpaste which is also gentle and this one seemed to fit my brief. One thing to note with this toothpaste is that it has quite a different taste than your usual fresh minty toothpastes – some might find the taste unpleasant but I don't mind it as I have used other whitening products which have the same distinct flavour, probably due to the special whitening ingredient. I brush my teeth for 2mins with my Oral B electric toothbrush my teeth feels squeaky clean afterwards. The surface of my teeth feels very clean and smooth and I have noticed it appears a little whiter, but not 3 shades whiter as it claims to achieve. However, we also know that results will vary depending on the individual. Overall I love how this toothpaste leaves my teeth feeling cleaning, but I also think their other Max White variants provide the same clean feeling and I'm inclined to pick the latter over this new Optic White toothpaste. I prefer the gel-like formula of the Max White which has a more pleasant fresh minty taste and a lighter, gentler formula.

I've actually been trying it together with my significant other, who has yellower teeth than me, so BH is getting a 2-4-1 review :) A little about my daily habits, I drink coffee everyday (occasionally twice) and tea regularly. I'm not a smoker, and my teeth are slightly discoloured, but not too badly. I probably notice it more than anyone else does. In regards to the toothpaste itself, its pretty good. Its got a great minty taste, and my mouth feels clean after using it. Very refreshing. You only need a little on your toothbrush as a little goes a long way. It feels a little warmer going on your teeth than normal toothpaste (both SO and I felt this). We have both been using this product for three weeks, I would have submitted my review closer to the due date but we'll be away from home then. However, I don't think this will make much of a difference to my final review. I personally noticed a slight difference in the whiteness of my teeth, but not significant. If I hadn't taken a pic before I started, it probably wouldn't have been noticeable. SO claims he can't see any difference at all. We both brush our teeth twice daily, for the two minutes as instructed. My thoughts? It would take a long time for any real difference to be seen, and I think that its quite expensive for a toothpaste. Even though it goes a long way, its still a relatively small quantity for the price. It makes a nice toothpaste, but given the price I would personally just buy standard toothpaste and find other ways of whitening my teeth if I felt like it was a problem.

When I first tried the toothpaste I thought the taste was strange; sort of like Dencorub. It definitely took some getting used to, but after using it every day it becomes okay. As far as teeth whitening effectiveness my teeth appeared to take a VERY long time to whiten. I even stopped drinking tea to give it the best chance. It's certainly a work in progress even after 3 weeks. The toothpaste kept my mouth fresh for a long time so it's good on that front. I probably wouldn't buy this product as there are products that work faster. However, if you like a gradual whitening then go for this product.

I am not sure it actually whitens our teeth. But something has happened to the tube. The red paints starts flaking off almost immediately and leaves a mess everywhere. I have even got some in my eye. A Complete turn off and we will not be buying again

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Found Better Products [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always been conscious of my smile and when I decided to invest some money on some home teeth whitening products, the first product I went with is Colgate's Optic White toothpaste. I was very excited to use the product, brushes my teeth twice a day for at least 2 minutes. Unfortunately after a week, there were barely any difference. I asked my friends and family if my teeth were whiter and they didn't notice any changes at all. I even used the toothpaste with Colgate's Optic White Teeth Whitening Pen and there were still very little changes. It is safe to say, my investment for teeth whitening didn't go well.

To be honest I was hoping for something but didn't expect it as I don't think "at home" whitening products actually work (apart from freshening up/up-keeping professionally whitened teeth). The price is great and the packaging looks sleek and professional. I was very hopeful. Maybe my expectations were too high. I loved the red packaging and the stand up tube! It all looked so flash and I had high hopes for this toothpaste! I couldn't wait to finish the toothpaste I was using, so after a few days just started using this one. From the first use, i was disappointed. It didn't seem to really clean my teeth. The thick white paste didn't really spread well, admittedly i do prefer a gel. Unfortunately neither my partner nor I liked the taste not only on brushing but also afterwards. It left a sort of stale taste in my mouth, not exactly sure how to describe it, but it certainly didn't feel as though I had brushed my teeth that day at all. I also felt it left some type of film over my teeth. After a week of using this, my mouth felt as though I had been eating lots of salty food, that inside of the mouth eaten away feeling. After noticing that sensation I gave up and bought toothpaste I have tried before that I know works for me.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not bad, but not great [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thankyou to BH for allowing my to trial this toothpaste - and just when my regular toothpaste had run out, perfect timing!! To begin with, I have quite white teeth as I always choose toothpastes with whitening properties (my current favourite is Colgate Max White One). I don't really have any problems with sensitivity. I liked the packaging of this toothpaste, as it's a stand up bright red shiny tube which looks good on my bathroom bench. The large hinged clipped lid is easy to operate and snaps tightly shut - no unsightly dried toothpaste around the edges! I used the paste as directed, twice a day for the trial period. I can't say that I noticed any whitening effect. As I said, my teeth are pretty white already, so maybe that's why I didn't notice anything. I liked the texture of the paste; it is grainy and thick and really feels like it is having a thorough cleaning, gentle abrasion on my teeth (kind of like gumption!). But the stand out feature is the flavour - I would describe it as a "deep heat" flavour. I actually don't mind the flavour, but my partner and another friend also happened to try it and nearly spat it out (entertaining for me!) so it seems this flavour is not so popular with the men... For $8, I wouldn't purchase this again. But if you suffer from discoloration, give it a go - you never know!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very disappointed [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Seduced by the advertising and red tube, I decided to give Colgate Optic White a try. I really really wanted this product to do what it claimed, but after using the entire tube, I had not seen any difference to the colour or brightness of my teeth. Unforunately the glitzy packaging is the only thing effective about this product. It's taste and texture is the same as regular toothpaste. It doesn't have a particular smell and I'm sure it's just as effective at cleaning your teeth as any other commercial toothpaste. It just didn't deliver for me and for this reason, I would not buy the product agian.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this as part of the trial team review and first up, I need to qualify that I don't consider myself sensitive to anything food or skin-care wise. But I gotta say, this toothpaste made me feel like a first-class wuss!! The flavour is ridiculously overwhelming and I found it really hard to keep brushing for the recommended 1-2 minutes. I doubt this does a better job of whitening than any other less expensive whitening toothpastes that don't involve an all-out assault on the senses. I did find my teeth felt very smooth, almost silky after brushing, but I really disliked the strong cinnamon aftertaste and honestly felt like brushing with my usual toothpaste afterwards to get rid of the taste. If you really like cinnamon and need your sinuses cleared out, this might be just the toothpaste for you. I'll personally be sticking to my standard Colgate whitening paste though!
