General Information

Elucent Gentle Cleanser contains a blend of delicate cleansers & moisturisers to refresh the skin without causing dryness, while the two AHAs (Lactic Acid and Glycolic Acid) work together to gently exfoliate the skin.

The key ingredients across the Elucent range, AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) are exfoliating and moisturising compounds. AHAs remove dry, dead skin through chemical exfoliation, helping to reveal visibly smoother and younger-looking skin. As more dead skin cells are shed, the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles is reduced. Complemented with scientifically selected vitamins, Elucent will help achieve younger, healthy looking skin.
After cleansing with Elucent Anti Ageing Cleanser, your skin is perfectly prepared for your Elucent Moisturiser.

Directions

It is important to begin slowly by introducing the lowest level of AHAs to the skin before moving to the higher levels. Wet face, apply a little cleanser and massage gently to produce lather. Rinse thoroughly then pat dry. Avoid irritated skin. Mild and temporary tingling may occur.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Star in my shower. I've been using this on and off for months, it lives in my shower. It's rare for cleansers that are gel based to actually make my skin less dry and tight after I rinse. It's a very nice cleanser (the shimmer is cute), and the bottle is huge, too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Effective Yet Gentle Cleanser! The Elucent Anti Ageing Gentle Cleanser comes in a stylish white bottle, with a marsala/maroon highlight and a silver band at its base and top. I’d be happy to leave this product out on display on my bathroom vanity even when visitors are present. I love the pump dispenser which makes this product easy and hygienic to use. The product itself is clear with a slightly runny yet gel-like consistency with a magical looking pearlescent shimmer to it. It contains a combination of 2% Alpha Hydroxy Acids (1% glycolic acid & 1% lactic acid), vitamins B3 & E. The AHAs are designed to gently exfoliate the skin whilst the vitamins are aimed at revitalising the skin. As you massage this cleanser into your skin it produces a lovely lather. My skin felt clean without being stripped of its oils after use. I can’t say that this product has eliminated my wrinkles but using it in conjunction with the rest of the Elucent Anti Ageing skin care range it has definitely helped even out my skin tone and I feel my skin looks more youthful as a result. I am happy to continue using this cleanser and to repurchase it once this bottle is finished.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gentle on the skin, and soft afterwards I love this cleanser! First off, it comes in a white pump bottle with neat lettering - a reassuringly sturdy bottle with a pump that contains 140 g of cleanser. The cleanser itself has a runny, gel-like consistency with gorgeous shimmer through it, which enables me to feel like a mermaid in the shower. The cleanser is meant to purify and revitalise, and has a low level of AHAs, coming in at 2%, as well as Vitamins B3 and E. This leaves my skin feeling refreshed and clean without that stripped of oils sensation. This retails for $29.99. Overall, I have found this entire range to work really well on my skin. While I'm not battling any major ageing concerns, I have been keeping an eye on a few fine lines and freckles. I think that it has been quite helpful in hydrating and brightening the skin, and while it hasn't performed any crazy miracles, I do think that the range has been helping keep things at bay for me. The important thing to remember with this particular range is to ease yourself into it, and just to be very cautious for those who have sensitive skin. Keep in mind too that AHAs may also make your skin more sensitive to daylight, so it's a good thing they have something with SPF 30+ in the range!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great cleanser! I was recently sent the entire Elucent "Antiaging" range to trial and so far I am loving it (it's been about 4 weeks now). This cleanser comes in a pump bottle so no product is wasted and it is very hygienic; two pump is enough for my entire face. The consistancy of this cleanser is kind of like a runny gel and has shimmer throughout it. Once rubbed in to my face it does foam a little. There is 2% AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) in this cleanser which can tingle and leave my face a bit senstive if I use too much, however it's nowhere near as bad as using too much of the moisturiser (which I believe is 4% AHA). AHA acts as a chemical exfoliator and can leave your skin more sensitive to sunlight so make sure to wear sunscreen during the day. I use the matching moisturiser to this cleanser and it has an SPF50 luckily. I don't have too many lines so I can't really comment if it has improved any wrinkles but I can say my breakouts have stopped and I am shocked! I actually had pimples forming but after using this skincare range they just went away instead of surfacing which NEVER happens to me!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gentle and skin feels well cleaned but not dry Loved the beautiful mother of pearl shimmer of this cleanser! Its a bit liquidy and creamy not too thick I gently damp my face massage it in and wash off. It does not foam up at all, but really cleansed my skin thoroughly even when I had makeup on. Did not feel any burning or tingling sensation though I have quite sensitive skin. has a very faint fragrance almost fragrance free, so its perfect for sensitive skin types. My skin felt soft and fresh without feeling any tightness of dryness of the skin. Love that it gently exfoliates too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gentle Yet Effective I was recently given the Elucent Skincare range to trial. I am pleased that I had been given this opportunity, as I previously had not heard of this brand.<br />I was happy to see that the Elucent range comes under the "umbrella" of well known and trusted Australian company Ego, so immediately I was expecting a lot from this range.<br />Elucent Gentle Cleanser contains vitamins B3 and E, both known for their anti ageing qualities. Also within this cleanser is the active component of AHAs, which have been proven to be effective at chemical exfoliation. There is a concentration of 2% AHA, which omits the need for a manual exfoliator, which I find is harsh on my skin, and if is massaged into the skin too firmly, can cause damage to the, especially so with ageing skin. The cleanser is designed for all skin types, however, it should be kept in mind that AHAs may cause sensitivity, tingling after use is a common reaction.<br />The cleanser is packaged in a large 145ml bottle pump dispenser. Using a pump top makes for a hygienic application. The product is of a gel consistency, it is a milky colour with a pink iridescence. Only a small amount is needed for face and neck. I found that two pumps is more than enough to create a gentle lather when combined with water.<br />I found removing the cleanser was quick and easy with a damp face washer. There was no soapy residue. Makeup and dirt is effectively cleansed from my face, with the added benefit of AHA, dead skincells are also removed.<br />I did not suffer any adverse reactions, not even any tingling. This cleanser is gentle enough to use around the eye area. I was just left with soft clean skin, without my face feeling tight or stripped.<br />Over time my skin is looking clearer, diminishing breakouts that I had been experiencing.<br />The Elucent Gentle Cleanser is a fabulous product, don't let the price tag fool you, this pharmaceutical range really works!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Effective and gentle everyday cleanser [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using this cleanser for the past two weeks and really like it. It's very easy to use - in a sleek white container with a solid pump that pumps out exactly the right amount, with a lovely looking shimmery gel. I find that the product cleanses my skin very well, though I do tend to take off my eye makeup with a bit of oil first before using as I don't like rubbing it into my eyes. Otherwise it's good at removing makeup and the day's grime and leaves my sensitive, dry-tending skin feeling very soft and clean without tightness. I use it everyday and in spite of having sensitive skin, the 2% AHAs have not caused me any irritation. It is scented, which won't suit everyone, but I find that the scent is light, flowery and not at all unpleasant. The product is designed exfoliate chemically - that is without scratching and while I would not use a manual exfoliant everyday, this one is fine for me, and leaves my skin very soft and clean. I like that it has a simple ingredient list with lactic acid, vitamin E, B and C as well as oat kernel extract. Because of the exfoliation effect, it's a good way to start a routine as it leaves the skin well primed for moisturising - whether you combine with other Elucient AHA products or not. Overall I really like this cleanser and given how good my skin has been looking through my trial I will be repurchasing this one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Smooth cleanser The Elucent Anti Ageing Gentle Cleanser is an effective skin-smoothing facial cleanser, which I was lucky enough to trial along with the Elucent Anti Ageing Day Moisturiser and Night Moisturiser. Housed in a pump pack which delivers nice small portions of the shimmery liquid, the Elucent cleanser contains 2% AHAs (lactic acid and glycolic acid) which left my skin feeling cleansed and refreshed each night when I used it. I only needed to use 2-3 small pumps to cleanse my whole face, and the cleanser foamed up gently to help spread across my skin. The 140 gram pack size should last a long time, given the small volume you use each wash, which makes the cleanser particularly good value. The set of three Elucent products - cleanser, and day and night moisturisers - left my skin noticeably softer and smoother. The cleanser is the gentlest of the three products in the range, with 2% AHAs, so it would be suitable for most skin types.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gentle and cleanses the skin well Love the pump format, in a tall plastic container so it's light and sturdy. Generous medium size which means this would last for quite a while for me as I only use it once a day in the shower. Also comes with a lid for easier transportation should I go travelling. The cleanser itself did a good job of cleaning my face. I only used a small squirt and this can go a long way. It did not froth up too much. It was easy to apply and wash off. Smell wise, I did not really like it. It was subtle, and not a bad smell but the fragrant was a bit chemical-like. I do like skin products that have a nice subtle fragrant. But this is only a minor issue. What's more important is that it cleans well, and my face feels refreshed and not dry. Not sure if anti-aging properties would do much for my skin considering it's a cleanser gets washed off straight away..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Multitasking must have for a clear / clean skin Elucent may not be a name you are familiar with,BUT,you may well know it's parent...EGO.Yep,that brand that has looked after bubs and other sensitive skins for years is the Elucent label's mother. This gentle,yet effective cleanser is a low viscosity,foaming cleanser that has a beautiful pearlescent look to it,is a brilliant product that cleanses at a deeper level than most other cleansers you may have tried that is an essential,coupled with the skin loving mix of 1 per cent glycolic acid and 1 per cent lactic acid to help re-generate the skin,along with the same vitamin E and B3 as in other Elucent products to help increase skin elasticity and maintain skin suppleness,makes this one hardworking cleanser.And just to make sure you leave this out as a reminder to use daily,the bottle the gel-like liquid is housed in is quite "salon pro" in it's esthetics....a stylish white bottle, with maroon accents and a silver band at its base and top,as well as having a super user friendly pump action dispenser.This product is perfect for those who love a deeper cleanse,and will be well tolerated by men as well (mine uses this,and loves it with a shave.He also loves the "clean,but not tight" feel..as he calls it).At just under $30 for a tad under 150ml,this is probably the best value for money,multitasking cleanser that you can get,and it leaves many of those ones you get at the supermarket for dead).It removes all traces of grime / makeup (yes,even hard to remove,longwear bases) / sunscreen and sweat (wonderful post gym).Oh yes...and this is the perfect travel / gym bag buddy,as it is both sturdy and a secure pump top. So yes fellow beauties,give this a try and see what you think.

The cleanser has a shimmer sparkles to it which is very interesting with a great liquid consistency which makes it easier for me to wash my face. Love the formula which is really great for people like me who it's in my 30's now as it helps with wrinkle, fine lines and even skin tone. Which after using this product for about half a year now I can definetely see the improvement. It's gentle on my skin without any tingling. Soften and clean skin feeling fresh everytime i use it day and night.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Squeaky clean I like this cleanser as it combines with water really well without lathering up too much. A little goes a long way too. My skin always feels really clean after using it. The pump top makes dispensing really easy and makes sure I get just the right amount. As with all the other Elucent products I like the almost fragrance free scent of the cleanser as I get affected by strong smelling products, making my eyes water and get irritated. I haven't had any issues with this irritating my eyes at all.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wished I liked it [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I must admit I really wanted to love this product, but I just didn't. I REALLY disliked the smell of this product which made it hard to use. I did continue to use as part of the trial though. I found the smell to be like a chemical smell. My favourite part of the product was actually the pretty luminous glow it had. As for how it worked, look, I do think it was good and it wasn't harsh on my skin at all and didn't leave it feeling dry. It did cleanse quite nicely so if you like the smell in the rest of the range then this product will definitely do what it needs to do for you.
