Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pretty good product I've been an avid user of Bior's other nose strips for a couple of years now and only just discovered these charcoal strips. Since charcoal skincare is all the rage right now I decided to give them a go! Application is just as easy as other strips and drys in the same time. Removal hurts more (but I assume that means it is doing more) and is relatively easy. The strips do have a smell and the second time I used one it left a meduim brush on the bridge of my nose that didn't disappear for a week. Since then I've gone back to using the normal Bior strips.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Okay, but original is better I bought these from Priceline because charcoal seems to be in a lot of beauty products nowadays, so I thought I'd try it out.<br />You use it the same way that you use the regular Biore nose strips. Wet your nose, dry your hands and then apply the pore strip onto your nose. Then wait for it to harden (amazingly like paper mâché). Afterwards, slowly peel it off to reveal a clean and smooth nose and look out, some yucky gunk on the strip! This product doesn't have any scent and did not irritate my skin. Okay, I will mention what I didn't like about these and why I prefer the regular white ones better.<br />Since these contain charcoal, the charcoal transfers onto my fingers and my nose when I'm using it, a bit of a bother for me.<br />Also the main reason I don't favour these charcoal strips is that since they're black in colour, once I remove them to look at the removed gunk (we all look, don't we??), well, because it's black, I can't see how much has been removed, if any at all. Blackheads on a black background, doesn't work, maybe Biore can make white coloured strips that contain charcoal.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from pretty good I bought this when it was on sale at Priceline and I loved it as soon as I tried it. It felt refreshingly tingly after applied onto my skin, it has an easy to use pump, foamed up nicely and left my skin feeling clear and clean. Unfortunately, it didn't really do anything for my skin despite finishing the whole bottle and after a while the tingly feeling left. Sometimes it also left my skin feeling a little to stripped and dry.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good cleanser, but not acne-fighting I have hormonal acne that is usually closed comedones, but may get angry and cystic for any given reason - periods, wrong products, stress, lack of sleep.... I bought this product because the black colour looked so bad-ass I could wash the pimples off in one lather. Unfortunately, it didn't. It wasn't bad... but it wasn't awesome either. It washed off the dirt and makeup at the end of the day, but it didn't do much for my acne. I passed it on to my hubby who liked the skin-cooling menthol.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good charcoal cleanser with cooling sensation I bought this product as I suffer from a lot of blackheads in my T-zone and I am always looking for that miracle product that will get rid of them. Sadly, this was not it. I really like the smell and the thick black gel with the specks of charcoal lathers really well; a little goes a long way! I also like the pump dispenser, though a find a full pump way too much for my face. The product is very enjoyable to use, providing a cooling sensation to the skin and leaves the skin feeling very clean and fresh. I think it is a great cleanser, but I did not notice any effect or improvement with regards to my blackheads.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's okay I have combination skin and have been using this for a month now. I love the pump bottle, so easy to use in the shower. You don't need a full pump just a small squeeze, so it is economical for a regular cleanser. I feel it doesn't provide a deep cleanse or exfoliation like some scrubs do, but it's pretty good for a normal every day cleanser.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Clean and clear for a few days, then broke out I found that this cleanser did a nice job for a few days, I felt like it really did cleanse my pores quite deeply, however after a few days my skin broke out. The packaging is well and good, however using this cleanser, I felt like the ingredients consisted of harsh chemicals - too many chemicals.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from pretty average cleanser I purchased this on sale because that's always the best time to try new products and not be sad that you wasted the full amount on something that didn't work for you. I have very oily and blemish prone skin and I am always on the lookout for a good cleanser that will make a noticeable difference to my skin. I was pleasantly surprised by this one. It lathers up nicely, I LOVE that it has a pump and it rinses off clean too. It smells fresh and feels nice on the skin. I didn't give it more stars simply because there are so many other face washes that do the same thing. I'm not sure if the minimal amount of charcoal in this product actually did anything or if it is used as a marketing factor. This did not wow me and I will repurchase when on sale if I haven't found anything better.

Biore make great products for this however, I don't find any difference in effectiveness between the black or white nose strips- they're both as effective and both great and doing what they do.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but not great I bought this as a trial for Biore products and i was also interested in trying the charcoal ingredient. Packaging is 5/5: decent size bottle with an easy to use pump top. However, i felt a little bit disappointed eith the product. I thought it may atleast have some microbeads or texture in it like a scrub (even though it's a cleanser) but it's just a smooth formula. It goes on nicely; you don't need a lot of it. I'm not sure if this is a bad or good thing but if you use the product over your eyes, there is a cool feeling sort of like an ice gel. It takes a while to get used to (still not sure about it). I don't feel like the product does a "deep clean", it seems like any other cleanser. Probably wouldn't buy again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not Sure if I Enjoy This Or Not I bought this product as deep cleansing sounded like what I needed, and the charcoal coloured liquid looked interesting. The blackness doesn't stain the skin, it turns into a lathery white foam. However it's like the main ingredient in this product is menthol, as it's a very strong scent! It's so 'fumey', I guess I would say, that I have to keep my eyes closed and not breathe too hard through my nose. It doesn't irritate my skin however, but for what it's worth, it doesn't cleanse as deeply as what I would I would like from this product. It's not worth putting up with such a strong and invasive scent for a pretty average product. I probably wouldn't purchase this one again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just a normal cleanser. I bought this cleanser due to recommendations from other BH members. I have an oily skin and my pores are always clogged with whiteheads no matter what I use. I got this in the hopes that it will be my HG since the name states deep pore charcoal cleanser. I was left disappointed though. It's very affordable which is good for thrifty people like me and the bottle is pretty okay. The pump allows you to control the amount of product you'll use. I use it everyday for my morning shower for almost a year but I still haven't finished it. I must say I got bored with this product a long time ago but don't want to waste it. A smaller bottle will be better I think. It has a nice refreshing scent and I actually like the black color of the cleanser as it's a nice change from the usual white. It's a gel like formula with tiny black bits which I'm guessing are the cleansing formula. It gives out a cooling effect but I noticed that effect totally disappeared after a few months' use. Even though, I have a very oily skin, I have to be careful to only use a small amount as it can dry my skin. It does leave my skin feeling really clean and refreshed but my pores wasn't that cleaned at all. The whiteheads never disappeared even with continuous use. Also, as I'm getting conscious about product ingredients, seeing SLS as the 3rd active ingredient has put me off from this product completely. Some people are okay with it and it works for them. But, for me, I'd rather use another cleanser with less or no nasty chemicals at all.

I only used one bottle but maybe if you kept using it, it would yield different results.

However it smells nice and leaves a cooling sensation on the face while rubbed in, leaving the face feeling fresh after. I like the texture but be aware of using too much as it will sting your face if you've just exfoliated.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from a decent average cleanser I bought this when my Benzac facewash ran out, because this was on sale at Priceline. I knew that charcoal cleansing was a 'thing' since garnier came out with their own version, however I was very curious to see how well it really worked. My first impression of this product was that it smelled nice and fresh. It lathers up nicely and feels cool and tingly on the skin. It does a fairly decent job of cleansing and I have been using it daily for the last 3-4 weeks. I was pleased to notice that it did not irritate my skin or cause me any breakouts. I don't know if I will re purchase this again but I have nothing bad to say about it really. A decent cleanser at a decent price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beautorium December 2014 Suffering with adult/hormonal acne and blackheads for a while now, I am keen to try anything that aims to treat my skin concerns. This cleanser lathers very well (a little goes a long way) and cleanses the skin quickly and effectively. It has a lovely scent (almost good enough to eat) and leaves the skin feeling cool and refreshed. Unfortunately I did not see any improvement in my acne or blackheads, however it is a good all round affordable cleanser. It can leave your skin feeling a little dry/tight following use, however following up with mosituriser addressed this.

It provides an incredible clean, my skin feels tingly afterwards. It lathers really well on my skin. It doesn't remove much makeup, and I find I still have to go over it with at least one more cleanser. What I don't like is it drys out my skin to no end. I have fairly dry skin, but found that this almost made my skin hurt. It cleaned so deeply that it left dry patches all over my face, and for that I will not repurchase. I now only use when I have breakouts because I find it helps rid them quicker

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just average I received a deluxe sample of this and I was really eager to try. The product itself is a black coloured, thick liquid. It has a nice yet strong smell. I lathered it up and spread it evenly across my face. I find that it didn't foam up as much as I liked but it did a good job of taking off my makeup and leaving my face feeling clean. It made my skin tingle and gave off a cooling sensation. Overall it was good but I didn't see it as great. I found that it didn't clean my pores as well as I liked and comparing it to my other cleansers it was pretty average.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good, but doesn't live up to hype Charcoal appears to be the "it" ingredient at the moment, particularly in facial cleansers and masks. I recently received a sample of Biore's Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser in the mail which lasted for about a week. It's a dark greyish kind of gel with black particles. It lathers up quickly and turns white. I was almost expecting it to smell like charcoal, but it didn't. I think it had a mild menthol smell which I didn't mind. The first couple of times I used it, my face looked visibly cleaner than normal (especially on the forehead area). I felt like my skin was getting a deeper clean than usual, but I'm not sure whether I can attribute this to the charcoal or the typical feeling I get from using products with menthol which tend to give my skin a temporary "fresh burst" feeling. However as I kept using it, the product became less effective and it didn't do much to clear up the blackheads on my nose which was disappointing. It did leave me skin quite dry, tight and at times slightly irritated but I counteracted this with my daily moisturiser. I'm not convinced that charcoal is the miracle ingredient some people are touting it to be, but perhaps I need to try a mask or another cleanser. Overall, it's ok but doesn't perform well enough for me to switch from my current face cleanser. Rated 2 out of 5 by from Dont work for me I have tried the original Biore pore strips in the past, just not much luck for them. I thought I’d give these ones a go as I’ve heard charcoal is so great for skin and clearing pores. Which all seemed promising They are a black strip, unlike the normal white ones. They stick way better than the white ones, I’ve used the charcoal strips a few times over thr yeard hoping it improves and like the other ones didn’t have much luck. Like usual with biore strips, I feel hardly any blackheads were removex using the pore strips despite going as per instructions multiple times! I have loads of blackheads and whiteheads yhat are just stubborn against strips. I’m open for trying more products from this brand, maybe a cleansing oil next time :)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hit and miss I really don't understand this product, sometimes it is good, sometimes it doesn't work much or sometimes it doesn't stick much. I feel like I am better getting the peel off masks rather than these. If it works, it does a good job but I don't understand how some strips tend to not stick well despite putting enough water. I have also tried the men's one and feel the same like it is a hit and miss.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I prefer the original I feel the original white pore strips are much more effective for me. When I tried the charcoal pore strips, not very much was stuck to the strip at all. I also found the black to be a little messy, although it wipes off no problem, you don’t get this issue with the white pore strips. I noticed no difference to my skin at all after using these, my nose was still full of blackheads. When I use the original I notice a huge improvement. So this is a no for me. I will be going back to the original.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Original Are Better I don't like these pore strips all that much. I'm a fan of the Original, but I feel as though these don't do much for me at all. These take a bit longer to try than the standard ones, which is fine. When I do take them off, they feel like they haven't tried fully, even after half an hour of being on. Not much gunk comes out of my pores, maybe one or two bits. I'm glad I tried these as I'd been wanting to for a while, but it's not something I'd repurchase.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from not too keen this product i got on sale at priceline<br />im not a total fan as it did nothing for my skin after about a months continual use<br />i wouldnt pay the rrp for it, as i wont think its worth it if it did nothing for me<br />am quite disappointed as ive always liked biore products, especially their pore strips.<br />this product was just a miss for me though and didnt exceed my expectations.<br />will go back to my normal cleanser once ive finished this bottle up but i definitely wouldnt repurchase it

It claims to " draws out and traps 2x more dirt & impurities than a basic cleanser, purifying pores to leave your face deeply cleaned and your skin tingly-smooth. Pores are twice as clean after just one use." For me, this product doesn't leave my face face feeling any more clean. I was initially drawn to this product because of the charcoal but i don't think it does anything. It makes my skin feel very dry after. Charcoal powder is listed as one of the last ingredients. When applying it it does feel very tingly and cool which is ok and it does have a pleasant fragrance. I like the look of the packaging and the pump bottle makes it very easy and quick to use without using too much. I probably would not recommend this product. My face feels and my pores look a ot cleaner using other cleansers.

It did absolutely nothing for my skin except make it break out. It's good to use in the morning when you want your skin to wake up as there's a fresh feeling after you use it and it's tingly but other than that if you want it to minimize your pores or actually clean your skin then there are better products out there!
