Rated 3 out of 5 by from Worked best as a pre-wash mask Background: I have mid to long length hair, thick, wavy, prone to frizz. This product is recommended for use in 3 ways, as a conditioner, a hair mask, or a leave-in cream. I tried using it as a conditioner but I was finding it didn't seem to be providing the hydration my hair needed, with my hair tending to be drier/frizzier/less smooth. However! I then tried using it as a pre-wash mask. I have been using a generous amount, combing it through and leaving it on my hair (mid lengths to ends) for anywhere from 30mins to a few hours, before I then wash my hair as per normal (shampoo and conditioner). This was the best way for this product to work with my hair. I've been finding that even though I rinse it out before I shampoo, it seems to stop the shampoo stripping too much moisture from my mid lengths to ends. If I use this as a mask before my shower I'm finding that my hair ends up smoother, less dry, and (depending on the weather) less frizzy afterwards - with me changing nothing else about my haircare routine. I've purchased my second tub recently so I can continue to use this as a pre-wash hair mask - I think it's worthwhile for the results especially as it is often on sale (40-50% off).

When using this product my hair feels very hydrated and soft after a wash. i also use it for a leave in conditioner and i personally love the smell of it after washing my hair LOVE IT. I use it weekly

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hair type specific, may not be suitable My hair is dry and gets tangled after shampoo. This mask makes it easier to comb but hair feels flat and heavy after and looks oily by the end of the day (comparing to days I don’t use it) it smells nice too

Rated 3 out of 5 by from smells great, but nothing special This conditioner smells lovely, and isnt overwhelming, has those tropical fruity notes. It is free of silicones, parabens and colourants. This can be used as a conditioner, mask or leave-in. Overall, this did nothing to my hair, the effects were no different than any standard conditioner, my hair did feel soft and smooth, but any regular conditioner would give the same result. The major downside to this product is the packaging , I hate when products come in tubs with a screw on lid, this makes it difficult to use especially in the shower, whilst the water is running, you end up getting water into the tub as you need to dip your fingers into it and it just becomes a mess.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Itchy, red flakey scalp not worth the great result I really love this product. It's great as a detangler, referesher, deep conditioner- the uses are endless. BUT- sadly this hair food causes traumatic flare ups on my scalp to the point where by the day's end I'd love nothing more than to rip my scalp off. If you don't get a reaction to this product, then it's wonderful, but I'm in a Curly Girl Method group with over 26, 000 members and this seems to be a common issue. I end up having to slather my scalp in Moogoo scalp cream to stop the itch and get rid of the flakes and red, irritated patched around my hairline. Even when I've avoided the scalp and just apply it as a refresher to my hair this problem occurs. I'm not sure what the culprit is in the ingredients, but Macadamia seems to be the worst offender for this of all the hair foods. I hope Garnier look into their formula to see if they can't remove the offending ingredient as it really is a great little product. TLDR: Great product but can cause terrible itchiness for some people.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Did nothing. I was so excited when I got this product sent to me in the mail along with the Garnier Nutri Repair 3 shampoo and conditioner. I have had really unpleasant results with these products which I was sad about because their coconut water range in the green bottles are so good. So to start, the shampoo and conditioner are not suited to sensitive scalps because now my head is flaky and itchy and causing really bad dandruff. I haven't had dandruff in years so when I started feeling my scalp getting irritated I could only think of this as my answer because I haven't changed up an other part of my hair routine. So solid pass for the shampoo and conditioner. Now as for the Smoothing Macadamia Hair Food.... well I don't really see any results other than my hair feeling extremely knotted afterwards. It didn't do anything... like nothing. I was really surprised. The scent was nothing exciting to me, but it has promising texture. It just didn't work well with my hair type which is curly and fine. Rated 1 out of 5 by from Really hate it I bought this 2 weeks ago, was very excited to use it as I have always wanted to try it but it was just not in my price range for stuff for hair, but I thought I’d treat myself & I couldn’t wait to have a shower that night. Used it as a leave in, took my hair out from a plait the next morning & my hair felt gross, wasn’t soft (something I was looking forward to) instead it just felt dead & like wire at the ends. Brushed if & it just went to worse frizz then usual. Very disappointed! Used once & made my hair worse than it already was. Really upsetting because I was looking forward to the softness & getting it more healthy, especially since I just got my hair dyed for the first time in my life & it’s just made it look ugly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great scent but that's all I have damaged and dry hair end because of perm that I get once 1 or 1.5 year basis. I have been using it for 3 weeks daily basis. It didn't do anything to my hair, actually my hair felt even tougher and drier. It doesn't matter how long I leave it on(I tried overnight mask), it didn't nourish and sooth my hair... but honestly its scent is amazing.... one star for that... If you look for something for you damaged hair, this one isn't for you.
