Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very convenient conditioner Thank you BH for allowing me to trial Garnier Fructis Aloe Vera Hair Food. I like this product and have tried all 3 methods as a conditioner, a mask and a leave in. It is a good normal everyday conditioner and leaves hair soft and smooth. As a mask it is also very good. I leave it in for about 20 mins with good results. My hair felt healthy and easy to manage. Used as a leave in it is great as it is not too heavy and makes styling much easier. This product is suitable for the whole family. My husband has been using it as a leave in and it has relieved his itchy scalp. I have fine hair but this product does not weigh it down like some other brands. It comes in a large pot with Garniers pretty green colour lid. Good value at just under $12.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Silky soft manageable hair! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the versatility of this product, it can be used in three ways. It can be used as a conditioner, deep conditioning hair mask or as a leave in conditioner on either wet or dry hair. My hair is very long and the ends are in desperate need of a cut, so they are a bit dry and my hair gets tangled easily. I used it as a conditioner and a leave in treatment on wet hair and the next morning on dry hair to tame a few fly away and just on the ends. I love the fragrance of this mask and I like the subtle scent if leaves in my hair. The texture is quite thick, but it rinsed out easily, leaving my hair silky soft and shiny. I like that it’s very hydrating but doesn’t weigh my hair down. It’s a lovely product to use and very affordable due to the massive tub! At 390g is a lot of product and will last a very long time. My only criticism is the jar is so big it’s a bit hard to handle, I had to leave it on the floor of the shower so I could scoop some out, I was concerned I would drop it. Maybe a big squeeze tube with flip top lid might be more user friendly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Big tube of vegan friendly conditioner I was invited to the BH trial team for Natural Beauty Month. As part of the trial several different products were sent to participants to trial which were green, clean and sustainable. This Garnier Aloe Vera Hair Food comes in a big390 ml tube. It can be used as a conditioner, mask or leave in conditioner. This hair food is for normal to dry hair types. It’s said to contain 98% natural origins with the other 2% guaranteeing efficacy and preservation. It’s vegan, it’s 98% biodegradable, contains vegetable oils and is dermatologist tested. It has no silicones, parabens or artificial colourants. The consistency is more of a conditioner to me than that of a mask. I was expecting it to be more richer and buttery. I found I needed to use a lot of product on my coloured bleached hair. It did condition my hair well but it seemed too drink it all up and was more like a conditioner than a mask. On the other hand my hubby and teen daughter used on their non coloured dry hair and both liked the way it conditioned their hair. My daughter ghettos hair looked soft, tangle free and glossy after application. It ticks all the boxes in what I look for in a product with natural ingredients and no nasties. I’d prefer my teen using less chemicals on her hair so although it’s not quite rich enough for my hair it was adequate enough for a natural less processed hair type. I love the jumbo size and love the price as well. I’ve found a great family friendly conditioner. Good product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Effective conditioning Garnier Fructis Hydrating Aloe Vera Hair Food comes in a big 390ml pot for a very reasonable price. The cream smells nice--quite fresh and slightly fruity, and is a good thick consistency that doesn't drip. I’ve tried other hair food products from Garnier and not been that impressed with their effect on my hair but this one is a definite step up. I love that it’s 98% natural origin, biodegradable and vegan, with no silicones, parabens or artificial colourants. (my hair doesn’t like silicone at all - it just kills the curl instantly). You can use this as a normal, post-shampoo conditioner, an one-minute mask, or a leave in. I've tried them all and found it to be a so-so conditioner (though I've only ever tried leaving it in for a minute - you could try longer), but I do like it as a leave-in on still damp hair. My hair is quite dry and this does a good job of keeping it moisturised and not too unruly (though that is always its tendency...). It contains lots of good oils including soybean, sunflower, grapefruit coconut oil, and of course aloe and leaves the hair very soft. I really appreciate how Garnier has gone to a more natural, more sustainable product line.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful Thank you to BH and Garnier for this trial! I absolutely loved this Aloe Vera Hair Food. It smells divine, maybe a little too much, it is very strongly scented. The texture itself is creamy, like a yoghurt and like a regular supermarket conditioner bottle. I used it as a conditioner and my hair feels much more hydrated and not dry anymore and it is smoother and shinier as well. The hair food comes in a generous sized tub which is good, I don't use a lot of it for my hair, for each wash I use a small two fingered scoop which is perfect. Only downer, is the tub is a little inconvenient in the shower as it gets slippery to open when hands are wet, so I would of preferred a pumped bottle instead. Overall, I would definitely continue to use this and would repurchase it in the future, but I may prefer to try the other ones in the Garnier hair food range.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not a lot too complain about! I was lucky enough to get to try this product which was really great as I had plans to try it anyway. First of all, I don't mind the packaging. I probably would have preferred a tube but I have nothing again the tub-style. The texture is about as expected and the fragrance Is really lovely without being too overpowering. The instructions indicate that there are a few ways to use this product, but I have been opting to use it as a mask prior to washing, and I leave it through the ends and midlengths of my hair for around 15-20 minutes before following up with shampoo and conditioner. I definitely notice a difference in the feel of my hair once it has (air) dryed - it feels generally smoother and softer, making combing/brushing that little bit easier. My only criticism really is that it works well, its just not mind blowing. Also, my hair is normal, slightly on the dry side. I feel this probably wouldn't be powerful enough to tackle very dry hair types. Overall though, I'm so excited I got to try this and will continue to enjoy it. Also, I love the focus on natural ingredients!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Softens hair, but I prefer a more silky finish Thank you to the BH team for sending me this product to trial. This is an interesting offering from Garnier - a hair product that can be used three different ways - as a mask, conditioner and also a leave in treatment. Definitely unique! I have long, wavy hair and often get tangles and knots. It's dry and also prone to frizziness. I first used this product as a mask and left in on my wet hair for about 10 minutes. I noticed the product rinsed out easily in the shower and left my hair feeling smooth. After drying, I then used it as a leave-in treatment to reduce fly aways and improve the finish. Unfortunately, I didn't like the product used this way, as it wasn't as a effective as other silicone-based hair care at smoothing frizz and reducing tangles. I did however, appreciate that this product has more natural ingredients (fruit/plant oils or derivatives). Overall, I think this product is a great deep conditioner however falls short when compared to other leave in treatments that I have tried.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super hydrating I received the Hydrating Aloe Vera Hair Food by Garnier as part of the Natural Beauty Box - thank you to BH and Garnier! I have used the macadamia version of the hair food in the past and absolutely adore it, so I was very excited to try this new version out. I like that it is vegan and free from such chemical nasties as paraben, artificial colourants and silicons. It contains a lot of great natural ingredients such as aloe vera, grape, soya oil, coconut oil and sunflower seed oil. It can be used in three ways: as a conditioner, hair mask or leave-in treatment. I have been enjoying using it as a leave-in treatment and my thick and unruly hair has been loving the extra moisture that this products gives it. It is very thick and rich and it is on the heavier side, so for people with thin and fine hair, this may be too heavy and may weight their hair down. But for my bushy hair it is great! It has a fresh aloe scent and comes in a large plastic jar with a screw on lid. I do think it would have worked just as well in a squeezable tube as the consistency of this hair food would allow for that.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good hair mask This is the product I was most excited about to try. I tried the Garnier goji hair mask before and I like it. The aloe vera hair food comes in a big jar ,easy to open , the texture is creamy and thick and it smells sweet and delicious , I would say it is mainly a floral and fruity smell. I am using it as a hair mask , I leave it on for at least five minutes. It is easy to rinse , it doesn't leave any oily residue on the hair. It nourished without weighing hair down. I have long , coloured hair , with dry ends. This mask provided a good level of hydration , my hair feels nourished and soft , easy to comb , it has a subtle and pleasant scent too. It contains few natural ingredients , no nasties. Overall good product , good value for money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Smells Lovely Upon receiving this product I was very happy with its generous size and lovely fresh scent. I did however find that the size of the tub was not convenient as it didn’t fit in my shower caddy and I don’t have a shelf in my shower. I would prefer if it came in a squeeze bottle, similar to conditioner. The texture is sort of slimy but it’s easy to apply and work through wet hair. It’s important to rinse hair thoroughly to remove excess product otherwise I found that my hair looked a little oily/dirty. I also found that it was better to use less to ensure that my hair wasn’t left looking oily. As a mask it was great and left my hair feeling silky and hydrated, but again it's very important to rinse thoroughly. I didn’t like applying it to dry hair as I found it too difficult to work through the hair. The scent is lovely but dissipated once my hair was dry. Overall I think this is a good product and does leave my hair feeling silky and hydrated. It also sells for a very reasonable price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Soft Smooth Hair 3 Ways Garnier Fructis Hydrating Aloe Vera Hair Food, is a light moisture rich three way hair treat. Housed in a huge 390ml plastic screw top tub it has a light green colour and a fresh herbal fragrance. Garnier has great commitment to biodegradable formulas in the hair food variants. I used this as a conditioner and a leave in, but it can also be used as a hair mask/treatment. I have short, fine hair and the light moisture this hair cream provided was just right. It did not weigh my hair down. This product creates soft hair and is a great detangler. As the tub is generous you can really splash out in coating your hair. I love how such and economical product can have such great ingredients. A highlight is the fresh fragrance which lasts in the hair and is very invigorating. I also really like the natural formulation with no paraben or silicone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Soft and Silky I've used the macadamia hair food in a previous Beauty Heaven trial and I really loved it, I even purchased it myself to continue using. This aloe version is equally nice, it smells incredible and made my hair so soft and smooth. Since trying it the first time, I have tried similar products, many of which are more expensive, and this one holds up well for it's low price point. I like to use it as a leave-in produce, and it does leave my hair a little heavier than normal, but if you ensure you only use a small amount of the product and run it through properly when your hair is still damp it works really well. The texture feels a little strange, sort of like a really thick cream, almost gel consistency, but it's easy to apply and lasts a really long time as you only need a tiny amount to be effective.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Hair Mask and no frizz The scent is divine but it is not overly fragrance because your hair just smells clean and refreshing after the wash. I have been using this hair mask for the past week and I have been having great hair days! I use a very generous amount because I have super long hair and normally leave it on for up to 10 minutes then wash it off. It makes my hair less frizziness even after airdry or blowdry which is something I have been looking for in a hair mask. The end of my hair is dry and I dont feel it deeply hydrates my hair enough to be silky smooth which is why this product lost a star. However, I will definitely repurchase this mask as it is very affordable and it is an overall decent mask that I have been enjoying. Furthermore, it is 98% natural and I would prefer to use natural products on my hair/skin as I believe it will benefit me on the long run.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A little disappointed I got this because I have dry from dying it but it doesn’t really work on dyed hair after I grew it out and cut it worked perfectly

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hydrating Garnier Fructis Hydrating Aloe Vera Hair Food comes in a lovely large tub and is very easy to use, just pop your fingers in and grab a scoop. It's a nice product and good to apply to the hair as a mask. I like to apply the product, and then leave it in for at least 10 minutes. It smells nice and is hydrating. the product packaging is recyclable which is very good. My hair felt somewhat softer and felt smoother too, and felt and smelt fresher too. I colour my hair and it made it a little softer and less brittle.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from An easy e ye cream I was fortunate to trial the Garnier Organics Regenerating Lavandin Anti Age Eye Cream as part of the Natural beauty box this month of August. I really liked the consistency of the cream and the smooth application. I did find it took a while longer to soak in though. I wondered if this was because my skin needed a good exfoliation, or maybe I was just using too much. I thought the mild smell was fine and I loved the fact that a little goes a long way. I feel the price point is just right for the amount in the easy-squeeze tube, which stands nicely on its lid for easy storage and easy access. I am yet to make a decision on its "anti-age" impact. I feel I need to keep using this eye cream for a few more weeks before I make a decision on this aspect. I do like the moisturising effect and my skin does feel hydrated.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from On the fence with this one. I received the Fructis Hydrating Aloe Vera Hair Food as per of the natural beauty month trial box. I have to admit, I was pretty excited to test out this product. Although I haven’t used their products in quite a while, I have always loved the fruity, fresh scent of Fructis products. Unfortunately this hair food didn’t really pack as much punch. The fragrance was mild, suitable for someone who does not want their entire head smelling like a fruit bowl. I, on the other hand, was all here for the fruit bowl scent. I honestly have not noticed any difference in the feel or appearance of my hair. I have quite long, wavy, frizzy hair that has been subjected to many years of hot tools, bleach and colouring so I don’t expect miracles from any product but this hair food did not make a tiny bit of difference to my hair. This may be suited to and work much better for other hair types but definitely did not do anything for my own.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Instant hair and skin food ! Thank You BH for the monthly trial and is the first time use of this product. This is packaged in a large plastic tub that is very nicely labelled and presented which I was impressed with . The ingredients list was so amazing and naturally scented which I thought it was too good to be a hair food that I trialled it on my face like a mask after cleansing and my skin was so nice and smooth ! Generally even though I have straight hair my ends are the ones that always need attention so as usual washed my hair then scooped some in my hands and used it like a conditioner which made my hair smooth but not as nourished as a normal hair conditioner would. Hence I think it would be better if it was packaged in a bottle as felt a bit messy scooping with my hands and not able to judge the amount I wanted to use like a pump bottle would. I think the product is great for hair that is not too dry as don't feel it is sufficient if your hair was damaged which hair oil might be more suitable. Having said this it is so natural and no nasties that is is really worth a try for extra hair nourishment.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hydrated and Smooth I have fallen in love with this product!!! The Garnier Aloe Vera Hair Food has been on my wishlist ever since I have seen other curly haired friends raving about how it hydrates and replenishes their hair. The mask comes in a large plastic tub so it is perfect to keep in the shower and lasts a very long time for the price that you pay. The mask itself can also be used in three ways: as a leave in, a conditioner or a hair treatment. The biggest factor for me as a curly girl was that there was no silicons in the product itself, which is something I avoid in hair products personally. Another big plus, is that the plastic packaging is biodegradable and the ingredients have natural origins. I usually detangle in the shower and the hair food itself is quite thick and perfect to use as a detangling treatment. The scent of the product is quite pleasant, I can almost describe it as slightly fruity but not obnoxious. I actually enjoyed the lingering smell of it on my hair after leaving the shower. However, I found the product to be too heavy for my hair when used as a leave-in so I opted to use it as a conditioner and treatment only. For those purposes, the product works amazingly well in my hair. My hair feels soft, manageable and hydrated.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hydrating hair treatment This Garnier Fructis Hydrating Aloe Vera Hair Food treatment comes in a very large plastic tub that is likely last me for quite some time. The product is very interesting in that it can be used in multiple ways to treat hair. It is designed for normal to dry hair, and I find it provides light moisture and nourishment to my hair. I used it as a leave-in conditioner and it helped add definition to my natural waves which lasted the whole day. It does have a strong fragrance which does linger for the whole day until you rinse it out. I have also tried using this Hair Food as a repair mask and although it was hydrating, I didn't find it nourishing or moisturising enough for my dry to very dry hair. I think it's a great, affordable hair treatment for mainly normal hair that doesn't need a rich, deeply moisturising hair product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Garnier Fructis Hydrating Aloe Vera Hair Food | Versatile treatment on the thin side Thank you to BH and Garnier for letting me try this product as part of Natural Beauty Month tiral. I had 2 weeks to trial and review this product. The Garnier Fructis Hydrating Aloe Vera Hair Food is another attempt by Garnier to re-brand their products to align with the "natural" image. I must say that 98% natural origin is pretty impressive. The Hair Food can be used 3 ways: as a conditioner, a treatment mask, or a leave-in treatment. I couldn't tell much difference between using it as a conditioner or a treatment mask. I think due to the rather thin consistency it is more suitable as a conditioner. It also works as a leave-in treatment on wet hair, but it could dry slightly tacky and I have to brush my hair hair out once my hair is allowed to dry naturally. In terms of results, I think it is okay but not outstanding. The smell though, is beautiful and I have received compliments on how good my hair smelt. Usually I like my products come in big sizes to give me more value for money, but this tub of hair food is just way too big. The size is so ridiculously big that it makes it feel cheap (it reminds me of bulk buying from Costco). I also think that the content is thin enough to package it into a tube or bottle rather than a tub. It is very inconvenient to use in the shower, I have to be careful not let water in and not dropping the whole tub. I am not sure whether this particular packaging is due to the fact that Garnier is moving towards its sustainability targets, which is a great initiative. If it cannot be packaged in a bottle due to this reason then I am more than happy to stop complaining!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hydrating I was very excited to trial Garnier's Fructis Hydrating Aloe Vera Hair Food this month as a part of Beauty heavens Natural beauty box. The packaging itself was nice although didn’t necessarily look fancy or high priced to me. It came in a generous 390ml tub which was easy to access and use every last drop. The product itself smelt pleasant and not to overwhelming. It was lovely and thick to apply and easy enough to leave in hair for the duration of your shower. It was easy to wash out and does not leave any product buildup or residue which some of these products often do in my prone to oily/fine hair, I assume this is due to the lack of silicone within the product. I didn’t mind the product overall but for hair such as mine which isn’t necessarily dry, it is an unnecessary step in your routine.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Penetrates the hair follicles giving a real moisture boost! Another winner for Garnier is the Fructis Hydrating Aloe Vera Hair Food. From the moment you open this jar, your hair will not only feel fresh and clean but be hydrated by the natural products that are included. There is no weighing down by this product and the fact that it can be used as a quick conditioner, hair mask or leave-in conditioner with their formula which is 98% natural origin, 98% biodegradable and vegan, with no silicones, no parabens and no artificial colourants. How wonderful to know you can trust this brand to deliver a near totally natural product. It rinses out well and your hair is easier to style with no next-day greasies as you get with other hair conditioning products. Although I must point out that it is not suitable for hair that has been coloured as you need so much more hydration - especially at those ends. I have a natural curl to my hair and a frizz so I usually use other products that give me extra protection.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Alright - bit too rich for me Big thanks to BH for including me in the Natural Beauty Month and Fruitis for including their product. Their are a lot of pros with this item: - Pricing super reasonable and exceptionally generous size - No nasties - Light scent, which is my preference - Multiple uses (conditioner/leave in conditioner over night and leave in conditioner in shower/bath) Cons for me include: - Too rich for my fine hair - left it feeling greasy, I tried it as conditioner and the leave in conditioner and both methods my hair was left super greasy and texture wasn't that nice - Container is too big especially, as you use so little. I would prefer a different style of container Overall, I wouldn't repurchase this particular item but I may try a different hair food from fructis like the banana one. This one just missed the mark by leaving my hair too greasy, which is a bit disappointing. But, it's just that some products just don't work with my particular hair type.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not well suited to my fine curly/wavy hair [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have fine curly/wavy hair which is always in desperate need of moisture so I was very excited to try this. I used it in all three ways - as a conditioner, a mask and also as a leave-in. As a mask and leave-in my hair was left feeling soft but flat and lifeless.. My curls was stretched and I had zero volume. Not the looking I’m going for. It was somewhat better when used as a conditioner, my hair had a little more volume and body but still not fantastic. I think it may be better suited to straight hair as it does condition well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not great for fine curly hair I had high hopes for this product as I do sometimes use fresh aloe vera on my hair and scalp with great results. My hair was in desperate need of moisture when I tried this and my curl pattern was all over the place. I loved the idea of being able to use it in three different ways - a mask, intense conditioner and a leave-in. My first trial of it was as a mask - in the shower after washing and conditioning. I left it on for around 3 minutes (the recommended time is around 1 minute.) It definitely left my hair soft, however when it had dried I found it was somewhat lifeless and felt slightly as though there was a film on it. My curls were stretched and flattened. Not impressed. I also tried it as a leave in but with the same result - somewhat lifeless, flat hair. Soft, yes, but not looking great. It was a little better when I used it as conditioner - my hair wasn't quite as flat so I will probably keep using it this way until it is finished but I doubt I will repurchase. I feel that this would be more suitable for straight hair as it does really condition and make hair soft but for my fine curly/wavy hair it was just not great.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Effective conditioner but awkward tub size. Thank you to Beauty Heaven and Garnier for the opportunity to trial this hydrating Aloe Vera Hair Food as part of the Natural Beauty Month. I have shoulder blade, frizzy, curly, dry hair – especially so in winter – so I was looking forward to giving it “a feed”. The conditioner/mask is packaged in a very large 390 ml plastic tub decorated attractively with illustrations of aloe vera. I liked the use of plastic in the packaging as I often drop items under the shower if my hands are slippery or my eyes are shut when washing my hair. This tub would be safe to use in this way. I really disliked the size of the tub, and this was a huge factor in my final decision not to repurchase. The tub does not fit anywhere in the shower – not in the caddies, not on the top of rails, not in the nooks and crannies. The only place I could put it was on the floor, which was awkward when trying to apply it and meant I have to store it outside of the shower and remember to put it in the shower when washing my hair. The ingredients were a big “yes” for me. 98% natural origin. 98% biodegradable. No silicons, parabens, artificial colours. Safe for the whole family. The scent is a pleasant fruity smell – again suitable for the whole family. It does not perfume the hair after you wash it out. The texture is very thick and shiny, and when applied it glides onto the hair easily. Because of the generous portion in the tub, I was able to put plenty on my hair. With my knots, I usually find this necessary. This hair food can be used in three ways: as a conditioner after shampooing, as a one-minute mask after shampooing, or as a leave-in conditioner for either wet or dry hair. My usual routine is to apply conditioner after shampooing, rinse out, and then apply a leave in conditioner. I therefore tested this hair food in two ways: as a two-minute mask and as a leave-in conditioner on dry hair. When I applied it to my dry hair and left it in, I found my hair became soft to touch all the way to the ends. There was no change in appearance or in knottiness, but the feel of my hair was like silk. When I applied it as a two minute mask after washing my hair, I found the hair food effectively reduced the knottiness in my hair and that my hair felt soft after it was air dried. The softness continued into the next day. The appearance of my hair was somewhat heavier – a bit like a sheep’s coat with lanolin in it. It was still curly but it looked weighed down. Overall, I found this to be an effective product both as a mask and as a leave-in conditioner. It worked well for my hair. I really couldn’t cope with the size of the packaging though, so I would be unlikely to repurchase it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hydrating and Nourishing Aloe Vera hair food [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I found the Garnier Fructis hydrating aloe vera hair food to be very hydrating for my dry and dull hair type. It was easy to use as a conditioner, as well as a 1 minute hair mask and as a leave-in treatment. It makes styling hair post shower easier, which meant it kept my hair nourished and non-drying or frizzy. I found however, the scent was overwhelming for me. This was something that I wished it didn't have. Not that my hair is sensitive, but the scent was just too much. If there was a fragrance-free option, I would surely enjoy using this product more.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hydrating Aloe Vera Hair Food I received this product as part of Beauty Heaven’s Natural Beauty Month trial team. The Garnier Fructis hydrating aloe vera food is a 3-in-1 that can be used as conditioner, a 1 minute hair mask and a leave-in hair treatment. It is packaged in a big white tub with a pastel green twist lid. It’s key ingredients are soya oil, aloe vera, sunflower seed oil, grape and coconut oil. The product inside is creamy and has a strong botanical scent. I can’t quite figure out the exact scent, but it is heavy for me. I have tried it as a conditioner, a hair mask and as a leave-in treatment. Trying all three ways makes my hair feel hydrated, moisturised and soft to touch. It didn’t feel heavy on wet or dry hair, but the scent for me is overwhelming. If this was fragrance-free, I would enjoy using it even more. Aside from the scent, I have found it to be very nourishing, hydrating and adds shine to my dull, dry and coloured hair. Anyone looking for a vegan alternative and affordable hair treatment. This is suitable for normal to dry hair types.
